mufasa: I'm not sure about the settings on a windows based pc, I use OSX and it's pretty straight forward.

But I think you will have to set up an ad hoc wifi network from the laptop to share your "wired" Internet connection.

The thing is after setting up the sharing shi , my samsung galaxy s3 n PSP didn't seem to see the network but another laptop was able to see the shared network and connected through it.

xtraodinaire: The GPS is awesome no doubt, just doesn't have turn by turn voice navigation (or i haven't tried it out) i remember using it to locate Towry Street on Lagos island few days ago. And for the PC Suite there's Samsung Kies and as for using the phone as a modem, wireless tethering all the way bro.. The phone is more than awesome.

Just upgraded to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and trust me the phone is now faster than fast.. You can't go wrong with the SGS3.

Please hw did u upgrage it to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)??

I actually got a link from xda --- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792342 and I followed the process but still didn't root.

4llerbuntu: official ROMS are like 2 weeks away (or less). actually some are out but not the global version. u may exercise a little patience. when its out all u need is locate the official ROM on XDA or via google, download it and use ODIN to flash.

else if you are interested in custom roms, XDA is ur one-stop shop. visit the S III forums and knock urself out (if you are not savvy, id recommend you stick to stock ROMS)

the thing is the new JB release and hardware like S3 makes using stock roms a whole lot bearable for the average user
