Truthseeker10: You claimed that it was not possible for a congregation not to have an interpreter.
Explain 1 Corinthians 14:28 below.
New International Version If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God. Read from verses 26 RightChannel: Read from verses 26
26 What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. 27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. |

Truthseeker10: is there a difference between speaking in tongues and praying in tongues? If yes, explain. Praying in tongues is a personal, spirit led prayer to God that builds up the individual praying, whereas speaking in tongues is a manifestation of the Spirit for the edification of others, requiring interpretation to benefit the church. |

MaxInDHouse: The Bible did not say, let's leave that as something not revealed but as for what is written no one prayed in tongue that is why Paul was correcting people who thought presumptuously saying jargons could be approved after all they can say it's praying and praying is part of worship in Christianity! As at the time he layed his hand on them, he was praying after then they received Holy Spirit. Peter and John in Acts 8:17 did the same Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. What you need to ask your elders in Jws is that why not giving room for Holy Spirit to operate in your Kingdom Hall and your lives? |

New International Version 16. Otherwise when you are praising God in the Spirit, how can someone else, who is now put in the position of an inquirer, say “Amen” to your thanksgiving, since they do not know what you are saying?
In the bolded above, what was to be said "Amen" to? What Paul did is exactly the samething Peter and John did in Acts 8:17 Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. |

MaxInDHouse: The Bible didn't say he was praying all what he needs to do is LAY HIS HAND ON THEM! Please stop adding to God's word speak differs from pray that's why Paul is telling them that they need to know the purpose of praying because when others don't understand what you are saying then it is futile and they are justified if they choose not to say "amen"😟 At the moment when he layed his hands on them, what is Apostle Paul doing? Maybe he was singing right? |

MaxInDHouse: Guy praying in tongues is nonsense that is what Paul is saying and no believer did that in the first century except those who are presumptuous so Paul is using that letter to correct the misconception!
Reread Paul's letter again but this time meditate on what he said not just quoting simply because you want to make it appear like he approved it. Paul that layed his hands on people, after that the Holy sprit came upon them and they began to speak in tongues, prophesied will called the Spirit of God N O N S E N S E?? Is that the meaning you gave to Act 19:6 inside your hall? Who is doing or saying N O N S E N C E For turning Bible upside down? |

MaxInDHouse: Just quote where they PRAY in tongue. Thank you! RightChannel: Is laying hand as Paul did here and the Holy spirit came upon them has nothing to do with praying?
Acts 19:6 And when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
1 Corinthians 14:2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 14:14-15 14. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 15. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding. Are you still confused?? 🤔 |
