When democracy returned to Nigeria in 1999 new parties were formed eg PDP, AD, ANPP and the rest and Tinubu switched to AD which was like a regional party in SW and it changed name From AD to AC and then ACN which then had all the SW states ant Tinubu took it to the national level which now formed a merger with CPC and the rest and today became the ruling party

But your Agulu package fraud on the other hand joined Apuga which gave him relevance but betrayed ojukwu after he promised not to leave the party, and today apuga remains a regional party😂😂😂 he left for pdp and now in elupee but about to jump ship again😂😂😂

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has shut down rumours claiming former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is ineligible to contest for the party’s 2027 presidential ticket.

Speaking on Monday, the interim National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said Obi remains a key figure in the opposition coalition and enjoys a “special concession” that allows him to retain his LP membership for now.

There had been speculation that Obi would be barred from the ADC primary race unless he formally dumped the LP, especially after big names like Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi resigned from their former parties to align with the coalition.

But Abdullahi dismissed the claims, explaining that the concession was a strategic decision.

Peter Obi is part of the Coalition. He and Mallam Nasir El-Rufai were given special concessions because their followers already hold tickets to contest elections,” Abdullahi told Nigerian Tribune.

According to him, the ADC allowed Obi to remain in the LP because many of his loyalists are contesting the upcoming Anambra governorship election on the LP platform.

A similar waiver was extended to former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, who is backing candidates contesting federal constituency bye-elections under the SDP.

"The understanding is that since their followers secured tickets in LP and SDP, they stay back until the processes are completed. They will join fully after the elections,” Abdullahi added.

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a suspected kidnapping ring leader, Wasiu Oloyede, in the Odo Pako area of Ota on Sunday.

Oloyede, believed to be the mastermind behind a recent abduction incident in Alagbado, Lagos, had allegedly orchestrated the kidnapping of a serving soldier.

During the ordeal, the victim was dispossessed of his military uniform, identity card, ATM cards, and mobile phone. The soldier, however, managed to escape from captivity.

Following the incident, Oloyede reportedly tried to impersonate a military personnel by donning the stolen uniform in an attempt to deceive a local vigilante operative.

He allegedly made a move to seize the vigilante’s dane gun during the encounter.

His plan backfired as the vigilant security personnel raised an alarm, leading to his swift arrest by the police.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate.

Oloyede remains in custody as law enforcement intensifies efforts to dismantle the criminal network.
