E.g Edo language. |
ditrix: Lamar Lamar. I dey suspect say na u b anatomy walaiTrust me, I think the same |
Can't believe how much this issue is taking a toll on me... You know, there's nothing we'd say about the yet to be admitted that hasn't been said before..but while we say this.. they may think .."it's easy for you to say, afterall you've been admitted " ..the primary reason I never wanted to reveal my admission status in the first cuz I saw this happening. But I must say, being not admitted isn't the end of the world, sometimes..these things happen..n believe me, my experience made me who I am today, Yes! Pain made me.. Nothing happens for nothing, there is always a purpose. You know..I used to think my case was that bad considering all I went through..not until I started reading other's stories. And believe me, there are many here that finished secondary school far back as 2007, even 2005..I don't wanna mention the guy I entered same vehicle with, this guy was old enough to be my dad, we both wrote postume, and as it seem, we may likely be coursemates. I had just 1 year experience of not being admitted n I had suicidal thoughts! Then what about those who've written Jamb 7..8 times? What would they do? It's so not worth it..I tell you. There was somebody here on this thread (I won't mention any name)he put in for medicine, n every blessed day he'd come to the thread, post how much faith he had in God to grant him his desired course. N TBH here, his posts were already infuriating me, n I could swear I wasn't the only one..I was even tempted to lambaste him, but something in me stopped me.. I decided to look into his case, n my discovery jolted me alot..I almost cried imagining what this guy has gone through. For several years, he's needed this medicine, but wasn't getting it. N he wasn't showing any sign of giving up despite people's ridicule! Believe me, I almost cried..and rather than criticizing him as I intended to, I found myself muttering prayers for him. Uniben released their list, still he wasn't given the medicine, he came here n posted the course he was given n said he'd accept it but would still try again next year..Making it how many years? You can imagine. There are many others here that have similar stories,n No! Nobody tells me anything..N if you should hear from them, you just won't believe it! But you really know why it was so devastating for me last year? It was my reluctance to accept fate..reality..whatever word you have for it.It took me till Uniben held their matric in February this year to know yep, that was it! That was when I finally gave up. Someone once told me, "never expect too much cuz it's always better to be suprised than to be dissappointed" . I never truly understood these words until uniben happened. Yes, it hurts.. Especially when you are the top one amongst your mates, n those below you as it may seem are getting admitted, you are just there like.."when will it be my turn?"..You feel left behind..depressed n all. Friends telling you about their University experience, hitting you on the head n are like "boy, you never know wetin I dey talk" lol... sure, it does hurt, it really does. Well, about the list, with the happenings, I can't give my vote of confidence..cuz honestly, I dont know. Tho' I believe something might happen during the physical clearance as it's been in recent years or even before then, but what if it doesn't come to be? What if Uniben choose to focus on Edo indigenes like they did last year? Where would we go from there. N that's where Devito/Faith's earlier posts comes in.. How about having an alternative? I really cant suggest here..cuz everyone knows what they want. I just hope we make the right decisions and know when to let go of the past..n my dear, God truly is aware of your situation..HE is..believe it.. |

Holyrule: i got MMBS merit list in Imo State University....now the question is... if u were me, wud u go for the medicine or wud u go for crop science in UNiben.... answers and critically analysed answers are needed.... i need all the brains in the house on deck over this issue....include religious believes, academic standards ooh, fees, etc...nothin shud be left out...wud really appreciate ur replies@HOLYRULE, This is from Vanguard, an edited copy actually One of the great things that happened in the education sector of Imo State in the recent past was the successful accreditation by the NUC of the Department of Medicine and Surgery ofTO THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW HOW IT WORKS An MBBS degree in a Nigerian university take six years. This runs normally in two phases;THE BONE OF CONTENTION. In IMSU, the late accreditation of the university has left its tolls on the time, energy, human and material resources of guardians and The University successfully graduated its first set of medical doctors last year after 10 years of study. The delay of four years by the first set of students of the medical school of IMSU, created a two years backlog. Students who should have graduated two years ago are still in the teaching hospital and the implications include that the current final year students, who normally should be in the sixth year are in their nineth /10th year still awaiting graduation. The availability of student accommodation and the teaching facilities to cope have become serious challenges . The IMSU College of Medicine and Surgery is stretched at both ends, with the result that a course that normally should take six years now takes 10 years to complete! . In other colleges of medicine, a fifth year medical student is in the last or penultimate year, but in IMSU, a fifth year student is yet to write his second MBBS and is therefore in the same standing as a third year student in other institutions, until he reaches This calls into question the quality of doctors from that institution and raises concerns despite the huge costs to parents and guardians, Imo State is thus left with a total of between 320-350 medical students that should have graduated as far back as four years ago, while by the end of this year 2010, the state will have a total of about 420 students awaiting graduation if nothing is done.THE BIG ONE! Yet, the university still admits over 90 students. It was quite easy for most peeps to say "go for your dream course;Medicine" because they are oblivious about the happenings in IMSU. Personally, I am not a believer in "professional course".. I believe in making the best out of what one is given. And hell to the No! i'm not advising you to settle for crop Science. I'd rather say, if it were me, being aware of IMSU's predicament, I'd opt for Crop Science in Uniben. Come to think of it, yes! that article might have been written in 2010, but 3years after, IMSU is still struggling.. I bet we all heard about the street protest their medical students embarked on earlier this year. Tho' some say the state governor might have a hand in it i.e he is incompetent..but hey! Maybe a better governor would make things work out fine during your time. ![]() Again, If it were me, I'd initially tell myself to accept IMSU, and if things aren't working out fine in the first year, I'd call it quit! But damn! the sad thing is... We never know.. First year isn't enough to know wad up. Bro, I'm not in anyway deciding for you, cuz the truth is, nobody wants to look back at the opportunities he had and rue not taking them. And it's even worse to have someone to put the blame on..I don't wanna be that guy. So, I'd advice you to follow your heart...but take your brain along ![]() And to clarify something in Anatomy's post, was it not...I_am_Winner who once said he would prepare for thesecond semester exam, sheerly because Crop Scientist offer virtually the same course with their Medical counterparts in the first year? I stand being corrected tho'. Again, I reiterate 'if it were me'..I'd accept Uniben's crop Science..and try again next year ![]() Did I offer any advice? no, I didn't...I'm just soliloquizing o ![]() n ehhhhmmm, I hear Uniben still have their woes in Medicine..I dunno sha o...anyway, your choice..The ball is in your court ![]() Goodmorning |
ok |
