Romance › Re: Dating A Guy Who Is Just NOT Funny by Risky101: 3:24pm On Dec 30, 2024 |
SweetBuns: Good day nairalanders. Merry Xmas and a happy new year in advance.
I'll try to make this short and sweet. So I met this guy at my favorite foodspot not too long ago. He was tall, dark, handsome and jacked.... Basically the type of guy I like so I was obviously attracted to him.
He then approached and talked to me. Whilst we were at it, I remember him cracking some very bad jokes (not bad in like an offensive way, but a bit too dry), but for the sake of being polite I went along with it.
We exchanged contacts and met up for a first date not too long after. And to keep things short, he wasn't funny whenever he tried. At all. He did look a bit nervous, but It was still so bad to the extent that I felt uncomfortable watching him try and even guilty if I failed to laugh.
He's also very arkward when it comes to intimacy, the first kiss was really, really arkward and I could tell he was trying his best but......
He also has this habit of sending me some really unfunny memes
Besides that, he is truly loving, warm and sweet. We have a whole lot in common between us and I'm sure I'm attracted to him
Initially I thought it was something related to his initial nervousness and would resolve on its own with time, but things are still the same
I'm a really funny person and Ive realized that I bond best with the people I laugh and play around with.
Is this going to get better with time, or is this just who he is? If Humor is all you seek in a serious relationship, then you will be of all ladies most miserable. |

Their tricks to delay the implementation of the new national minimum wage is to extend the implementation of the 2024 budget to June 2025 because it was not captured in the 2024 budget. It's looking like a long wait already. SHM! |

Career › Re: A Police Officer Wants To Quit Over Poor Pay by Risky101: 11:19am On Jul 14, 2020 |
Ralpdee123: Good morning Nlanders, Good morning Op. I like your formidable spirit. It isn't easy to study to that level as constable. Please don't quit your job yet because of your family responsibilities. Give yourself sometime and expand your business and live for your wife to manage. While at it, pick a PhD form in a Federal University close to your station and run the program alongside your business. Since you job gives you access to places, start applying for academic jobs in different universities before long you will be shocked what God will do for. I have different police officers who resigned as constable after acquiring their qualifications from different higher institutions and are doing great in other paid employment. My happiness is that, you have studied to a good level which will ease yy transition to better opportunities of work and life. Don't quit yet until U find your fit. Also, avoid discussing your moves with your colleagues because they will betray you, no matter how close you are to them. Be wise! I have been considering quitting my police job to find something more productive & profitable to do with my life as a result of poor pay & lack of promotion.....
I was enlisted into the NPF since year 2009 at 21yrs, I was single then with big aspiration that someday I will move to the top echelon. While in the job, I struggled to send myself to school and bagged my first degree and through to masters level.
But one thing I have noticed is that there is no upward movement within the NPF unlike the other armed forces and some paramilitary agencies that have internal promotional policies of upgrading their personnel based on academic qualification and merit.
The first and only time this ever happened was five years ago when it was widely reported across all news platforms that the NPF was ready to promote graduates within the force to ASPs, exam was conducted, I passed and was selected to go to Abuja for final interview. It was a rough road for me as it was my first time at the FHQ, Abuja. But after like a week, the process was suspended indefinitely. That was the first time I heard the term MERIT LIST VS NATIONAL INTEREST LIST...the Senators and Reps etcs wanted to replace the list with their candidates and they disagree amongst themselves so the process was cancelled.
I must confess my family is getting larger now and the pay I get can't feed us not to talk of paying school fees. I had to double my hustle with side biz to meet up....
Even the Police academy now turn out graduates ASPs every year who are now superiors after just a few years. So what about us with requisite qualification and experience, don't we deserve to be promoted...?
It is on this note that I want to call it quit and move on...
So I need advice in this regard... Should I call it quit or still hold on a bit...cos I don tire......?
NB: For those of you that will be saying yenyenyen police likes twenty Naira.... I have never received bribe from anyone throughout my 11 years in the job. I am the kind of Police Officer that you would meet on duty and would love to be a police officer....
Please professionals in the house.... Flood my thread with your wealth of experience abeg....
.... Help me do the needed for a wider view.... |

Vianna: Went for NYSC in Sokoto state (2011). It was a remote village, sparsely populated. I barely go out anyhow but on this fateful day I decided to get something at a nearby shop. Met my secondary school classmate , he owns the shop and he recognized me instantly. The strange part is that we had our secondary school in Lagos and many years apart here he was in Sokoto running a small store. Like I didn't expect to meet any living thing I know in that part of the country. Even if it was the city, it was still understandable but a store in a remote village like that. ? Gosh the odds ehn. I think nature just has a way of twisting fate to suit certain circumstances. That's why I believe there are more dimensions out there in a parallel universe. Which PPA was yours? Served in GSS Tutera same year batch C though. Later CLO. |

Social intervention programs and internally displaced persons rights. (A case study of IDPs in North East Geopolitical Zone from 2010-2020)
Your variables can be narrowed down to different palliative measures, distribution constraints and location.
Do more research on this and thank me later.
If you do good job on this topic and you finish with a PhD grade, UN will give an offer while doing your PhD |

Many thanks for thoughts @edoairways. But you didn't attempt an answer for the NOUN PhD question. Any idea?[uote author=edoairways post=90416396] The same way you calculate your undergraduate CGPA. Weighed average entails adding all your scores for each course and then dividing it by the total number of courses taken. For example ENG 801 score was 80, ENG 802 75, ENG 803 65, ENG 75 , ENG 50. You add all scores (80+75+65+75+50)/5= 69. So your weighed average score is 69% ( a good score for one semester if all things are equal).[/quote] |

Education › Is It Advisable To Do A Phd Program In NOUN by Risky101(op): 5:12pm On May 16, 2020 |
Hi guys. I will like to know if its advisable to run a phD program in national open University given the incessant strikes in conventional University. I did my 1st and 2nd degree in different Federal universities and had suffered delays due to strike on end. Since there is no such experience as strike action in NOUN, one can possibly finish his/ program in record time.
Please any one who did phD in NOUN can share their experiences. Thanks |
