Sudan To Support Nigeria Combat Terrorism
— Jan 27, 2017 11:35 am |
Sudan has expressed its readiness to render any kind of support required by Nigeria to combat terrorism.

Ibrahim Bushra Mohamed Ali, Sudanese Ambassador to Nigeria, made this known at a  dinner organised to mark the 61st Sudan National Day Celebration on Thursday.

Ali,  commended the efforts exerted by President Muhammadu Buhari in combating the boko haram terrorists.

The envoy also commended Nigeria’s efforts in maintenance of peace and security in Africa .

`The government of Sudan really appreciate the sincere efforts exerted by Nigeria to release peace, stability in Sudan especially the participation of the Nigeria contingency in the peace keeping operation in Darfur.

“We are also following efforts by the Nigeria government to address the current challenges facing this great nation in combating terrorism.

“My government has confirm and continue to give its solid position in supporting the Nigeria government in the effort to combat terrorism,’’ Ali said.

Speaking on Sudan’s economy, he said: “we are confident that the recent lifting of the U,S. economic sanction imposed on Sudan since 1999 will definitely reflect positively on the Sudanese and Nigeria economic cooperation through processing of different transaction.

“Therefore, we are confident that our bilateral economic ties will also improve significantly,’’ the ambassador said.

He said that the relationship between the Sudanese government and Nigeria is considered as one of the oldest in Africa.

The envoy stressed that Sudan was ready to work closely with Nigeria to deepen the economic relations between the two countries, noting that more than five million Nigerians are living in Sudan and have contributed significantly to the socio-economic development of  that country

Also speaking the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mrs Khadija Ibrahim, extended Nigeria’s best wishes to the people of Sudan on their national day.

Ibrahim said that Nigeria and Sudan have excellent diplomatic and bilateral relations  which can transcend into economic development. (NAN)

CrimeThe Real Story Behind The Invasion Of Fgc,calabar By DSS. (so Inhumane)! by Ritaokafor(op): 11:27pm On Feb 06, 2017
DSS INVASION OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT GIRLS COLLEGE CALABAR AND WHY WE SHOULD ALL LIFT UP OUR VOICES AND WAIL

I got a call in the morning of Thursday, February 2 from Architect Njor Ntangha Tabi, a staff of Federal Government Girls College, Calabar. He sounded agitated, frightened and incoherent. He was trying to say something about DSS, students, teachers, beatings, bullets and gunshots.

I tried calming him down but it wasn't working. Incidentally I was in Calabar for another assignment. I told him I will head out to the school once I was done with my assignment. That didn't happened until hours later.

When I got to the school, it was late in the evening. I met a rattled bunch of teachers, all trying to tell me what happened at the same time. A trained lawyer should know he won't get the gist of what happened in such an excited babble. I just gleaned what I could and scheduled a visit to the scene the following day and a series of interview in a temporary office they agreed to arrange for me.

Friday. 3rd February. I went to the scene and held a series of interview and came face to face with the grandfather of all impunity and the most bizarre thing that ever happened in an academic institution since man started learning how to read and write.

Mr Owai Owai, a Civic Education teacher of over 17 years standing came to class that fateful Thursday morning and found a junior student sweeping the class of the SS3 students when classes was going on in the class of the junior, against the school rules that junior students should not be found sweeping the classes of seniors during school periods.

Mr Owai was able to fish out about 10 seniors who asked the juniors to sweep their class during school period contrary to school regulations. He punished the seniors by flogging them on their palms, 2 strokes of the cane each.

One of the the seniors, Grace Loveth Asuquo, grabbed the teacher by the collar of his shirt, protesting her flogging. The teacher was shocked and gave her more strokes for her action. She told the teacher in front of the students that her parents will burn down the school today and stormed out of the class.

Mr Owai continued teaching, unknown to him that Grace has called her mum, who called her sister that is a DSS operative. Half way through the class, the student's mum, her aunt who is a DSS operative and another man, stormed the class, gestapo-style, took the teacher's canes and flogged him mercilessly before his alarmed students.

When the canes broke from the trashing of hapless Mr Owai, they descended on his frail frame and rained torrents of blows and kicks on him. The screams of the students alerted the teachers who came to the rescue.

Grace's DSS operative aunt called for reinforcement and before you can say "poor education funding", 3 Hilux load of DSS operatives stormed the school.

The operatives went berserk and started shooting sporadically and hitting teachers with anything they could find: blows, kicks, stones, gun butts! Several teachers sustained injuries from the assault and battery.

Some ran into adjoining bushes and farms to save their lives. Some of the teachers started taking pictures and videoing. When the DSS operatives found out, they went after them, forcefully collecting their phones and further brutalising them. Phones, monies, glasses and other valuables were taken away by the operatives.

When they were driving out, they found the gate locked. They beat up the security men and shut the padlock open! They abducted the student, Grace Loveth Asuquo and left the school premises.

The entire staff and students of Federal Government Girls College community are traumatized and frightened. Classes didn't hold on Friday, February 3rd because of this.

When did we get here and how? The DSS, trained, armed and paid with tax payers money; using the arms we bought for them to harass our teachers before our children. What is this?

The management and staff of the school has instructed me to demand the following:

1. A written public apology from DSS published on NTA, Radio Nigeria and 4 national dailies.

2. An oral apology given at the Assembly Ground before staff and students

3. Outright dismissal and prosecution of the operatives involved in this barbaric act.

4. To foot the hospital bills of all staff who sustained injuries during the assault.

5. To return/pay for all lost or damaged items like phones, monies, glasses, etc

6. Replace the damaged school gate

7. Pay a 10 million naira compensation to the school.

I have the further instruction of the staff to file a suit in a court of competent jurisdiction to seek for redress and damages.

We must all wail against the excesses of our law enforcement agents. Their duty is to protect us and not to intimidate us. A formal petition has been lodged with the appropriate authorities. But there is something we can do here: let's stand up and shout against this barbaric intimidation by the DSS, if we don't stand up now, there might be no one left to stand tomorrow.

PoliticsFemi Fani Kayode.former Aviation Minister, involved In N26M money laundering! by Ritaokafor(op):
Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode on Monday, asked the Federal High Court Abuja, to adjourn his case to allow him explore other options of settlement aside from going to trial.

Counsel to Fani-Kayode, Mr Ameh Raji (SAN) who made the application on his behalf said that since the sum of money involved was only N26 million, he believed that there were other options of settlement.

Raji added that moreover, he was new on the case and would need some time to go over the facts of the case to enable him defend his client effectively.

“My Lord, I am just coming into the case and so I crave your indulgence to enable me familiarize myself with the case.

“Secondly, looking at the facts of the case and the money involved, I believe that there are other options we can explore.

“The case involves the sum of N26 million and the law allows you to explore the option of plea bargain and so many other options rather than go through trial,” Raji said.

He said that if the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was amenable to plea bargain, the defence would take the option.

The prosecuting counsel, Mr Johnson Ojogbane said he was not opposing the application.

Ojogbane, however, asked the court to take cognizance of the fact this was the second adjournment at the instance of the defence and asked for a definite date to commence trial.

The judge, Justice John Tsoho adjourned the matter till March 14 for commencement of trial.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Fani-Kayode was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) before Justice Tsoho on a fresh five-count charge bordering on money laundering.

The ex-aviation minister was accused of allegedly collecting N26 million from the Office of the Former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki and using same for media campaign.

Count two of the charge read that;” You Femi Fani-Kayode, converted N26 million cash paid from the office of the National Security Adviser for the purpose of media campaign when you ought to have reasonably known that the said funds formed part of an unlawful act contrary to section 15 (2) (b) of the Money Laundering Act.”

Following the argument of his bail application by the counsel who represented him on that day, Mr Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN), he was admitted to bail in the sum of N50 million and one surety in like sum.

Fani-Kayode is facing another 17 -count charge of money laundering before the Lagos division of the court.

MOST TERRIFIC POST......

My name is Chinwe. I am 26 years old. I never graduated from d university, simply bcoz I was stupid and careless.
On my 24th birthday, I received a nice gift. It was a blackberry phone. I always wanted one. It was like a right of passage. My ex-boyfriend got it for me. He was a student like me, didn’t have a job, and I really never cared to ask as he could afford it. My concern at that point was 'yes I had finally arrived.' Other girls in my
hostel had blackberries and I would always get pissed when I heard sounds of pings and messages coming into their phones at all hours and I would stare at my nokia phone and wish I could throw it away, but half bread they say is better than none. So I hoped and even fasted to get a blackberry phone.

Looking back now, if I had the opportunity, I’d have a
landline with no internet activity what so ever. Anyway I got the blackberry phone and even got free
BIS subscription. At that moment my life was complete. No more going to
the cyber cafes to check my emails, my face-book or twitter. I had it all at my finger tips. Life indeed was
complete, or so I thought.

Anyway, I became addicted to my blackberry and also my social media applications, and since I had constant access, I quickly gained enough followers, and especially guys, mostly
because I had a lot of erotic pictures on my timeline. I was popular. Finally, I felt I was the main girl. Everyone wanted to follow me. I didn’t care if it was virtual. It felt
good, checking out my profile and having well over 8,000 followers, more than half of which were guys, but one particular guy caught my attention.
Till this day, I don’t know what made him stand out, but we got chatty. He sent me direct messages
and I replied. He was quite a
gentleman, and I can’t remember him ever asking for nude pictures unlike the rest of them. So this made
me comfortable with him. His name was Tobi. He said he was a doctor. I didn’t have any cause to doubt him. He had extensive knowledge and even gave me some medical advice from time to time. We eventually moved from twitter to blackberry chat; we chatted all the time. I got so comfortable with him. I gave him my number, and that would come to be the biggest mistake I ever made.
Tobi called me every day. Some days, he called more than once. At night he would call and I would lay on my bed and have phone intimacy with him. His voice was so soothing. He made me do
things I never thought possible. He had gained so much access into my head. I realized later I had done some very sick and twisted things just to please him. I would take nude pictures of myself. I would send him
videos of me touching myself in private, and send him voice notes of me making moaning sounds and simulating orgasms, and all this while we had not met, not face to face at least.
Eventually I played into his hands. I began pestering to meet him in person. At this point I had lost my mind. I assumed I was in love with him, and when my boyfriend at the time broke up with me, I really welcomed it, for me it meant no more sneaking around.

Tobi eventually agreed to come to Lagos to meet me, all this while he had made me to believe he was in
Calabar, and would take time off work to spend a weekend with me in Lagos. When I heard this, I was excited. He told me to book a reservation for him, stating he would pay me back as soon as he arrived and also he said it would make him more committed to the visit and would convince him of my seriousness. I bought it all.

He was smart. He was cunning, and I was stupid! Oh how stupid I was. The funny thing was I had sent him tons of pictures, and all I had was just one picture of him, and whenever I asked,
he would claim he wanted to be sure I loved him for him, and not for his looks, and sheepishly I would try to convince him of my undying love, and would try to appease him with nude pictures of my body.

He eventually made it to Lagos. I met him at the hotel. He was tall, handsome and had a wonderful smile. He made love to me over and over, and convinced me to spend the night with him. I told him I couldn’t, because I had a test the next morning.
Now at this point, I don’t know what triggered his anger; don’t know if it was because I couldn’t spend the night, or maybe I said something else I can’t remember saying, but whatever it was, brought out a very ugly side of him. He called me foul names, and kept going on and on about how he always knew I was cheap, and he knew I was sleeping with other men. Thethe same man whom had swept me away,
slammed me on the floor. He told me of how he had shown his friends all my nude pictures and how they had watched the videos and listened to the voice notes, he told me he had made a bet with his friends, that I
would actually pay for him to have sex with me, just to prove how stupid I was. Well you can imagine how I felt. I was confused and shocked, but I attempted to regain any little dignity I had left, and so I tried to mouth off at him. Suddenly he punched me in the face, and I tripped
over, and hit my head on a stool.
The next thing I remembered was waking up on the bed. I was tied up, and he was staring at me. His eyes were dark and he had a sinister smile on his lips. He stood up and walked towards me. I tried to scream and realized my mouth was tapped. My head was racing. The unfortunate
part was that no one knew where I was. He turned me over, and told me he was going to teach me a lesson. At this point I was naked. He raped me from behind, and I mean my anus. The pain was mind blowing. I
struggled, and he hit me. When he was done, he brought out a small blade, and he looked at me for a
minute and said, this scare is going to always serve as a reminder, for girls like you always trying to be more than you are;for stupid fools like you. He put the blade to my nipple and cut it off, and anytime I think of it, I still feel the pain.
It was like nothing I had ever felt before. He was calm, like he had done it a million times. I could feel the warm blood dripping down my mutilated breast. Tears of fear and pain running down my face, and suddenly he turned around again, this time all I saw was a flash.

I don’t know how I survived it, but I woke up in a hospital days after. Well I was awake, but my eyes were swollen shut.

It took a couple of days for me to open my one good eye, and realize d damage he had done, he had plucked out my eye, and cut my face.
He had cut my breasts up real bad, they had to cut it out, like I had cancer or something.
There was no record of who I was, coz he had taken everything. He had taken my bag, containing everything I had.
I was able to tell the nurses about what I could remember, and also give them my mum’s phone number.
The hospital felt so much pity. They actually treated me for free. Hard to believe right?

Anyway I was taken home after weeks at the hospital to recuperate. It was tough!
I was blind in one eye. I had
one breast and a hideous scar of my face. Talk about your sinage, he did a number on me.
How dumb was I! sometimes I wish he had killed me, but there are fates worse than death, and I guess this is one of them. He was gone without a trace. The receipt from the hotel was in my name, so yes he had played me from the start.

I didn’t dare go back to school. I was sure everyone would have heard, and I was not going to become a statistic, so I decided to stay home, and mind my business, besides what do I need an education for? I’d rather stay home, because there is no rising from this.

There is no happy ending to this story. This is the simple ending:
I was a victim of a sexual predator, and I let him into my life, period! And I
take full responsibility for that. I was driven by greed and lack of morals. I allowed myself fall into an abyss, but well saying all this doesn’t
change anything.
It’s a memory I will have to live with for the rest of my life. Well not a memory, because I look at myself in the mirror everyday.
Who would want to see a nude picture of a woman with one breast, one eye, and a stub.

I have decided to publish my story, because with the rise of social media atrocities being committed, every story can go a long way in saving a life. So while you read, SHARE and help someone back to the right path............
