A search on UK gov site led me to this: [ i]How to prove you have the moneyYou can prove you have enough money using: a student loan from a government, government sponsored loan company, or a regulated student loans scheme an official financial sponsorship – for example, from a national government or university your own money your parent’s money – they must provide a letter confirming they agree to you using it this way your partner’s money, if your partner is in the UK or applying at the same time You cannot use: overdrafts cryptocurrency stocks and shares pensions bank accounts that are not regulated by the financial regulatory body in the country in which the bank operates bank accounts that do not use electronic record keeping[/i] Your best bet - find out from Prodigy Finance if they are regulated student loan scheme and can provide POF Vicko3: Good day great minds. Please I want to ask if I can use my approved Prodigy Finance loan letter as proof of funds when applying for UK student visa. Is using a loan a red flag or it also works fine ?
Thank you, as I await response please |

You might have to mail the embassy on that one. There's the initial option of keeping your passport while they make a visa decision. But now you've submitted the passport, you best bet would probably be to mail and enquire. BiyiTudors: Good afternoon everyone, trust you are all having a great day.
My application is taking a long time to get a decision and I already made non refundable bookings for the France part of my trip (also my valid France visa expires in a few weeks), I also have a major project to get back to execute so I can’t move my holiday. Does UK allow temporary passport withdrawal pending when they make a decision so I can go on my France trip while waiting?

If you're legally allowed to open and operate that bank account then its not a problem using the statement. Emphasis on legally allowed. I'm assuming you opened a Monzo or Revolut account or the likes. First off, the question is are you allowed to open such account as a non UK resident. If the answer is Yes, then there's no problem. AmbFitsaint: When applying for a skilled work Visa and I need to show a proof of funds. Can I use my UK bank account as the POF? The address on it is my sister's address in the UK when I went for visit Visa.
If I am printing the bank statement. Is one month bank statement enough or the bank statement must show how the 1270 pounds for proof of funds came in?
Thank you very much |

Use only one sponsor. Don't complicate things. Ensure your dad's account (or whoever your sponsor is) can fully cover the visa cost, accomodation costs, flight cost and othrr expenses. Get your organisation to write a letter saying you're doing your compulsory NYSC with them , which is mandatory by the Nigerian Govt... Basically their letter is to show that you have ties or things you're doing in Nigetia that would bring you back. They need to know you're not going there to get stuck. If you're dad is sponsoring you then his statement should suffice but you can add yours as well so there's evidence you're working and getting paid. iamnlia: Hello house, I have a question.
So I am supposed to travel in September for an exam and I'm staying for a week only. Flight has been payed for already (my mistake).
The issue I have now is that I'm a serving Corp member and there's no way my allowance can suffice for proof of funds however I'm going to be using my dad as a sponsor and if I do, will my account still need to be submitted?
Also can I use more than 1 person as a sponsor? |

Be like say you wan dey go through complicated route.... How long have you operated the FD account? How long had the 5m been there? If you've had the FD account for long you can ask for the history of your FD from inception. Let them see the money has been seating there for long. No one will query you for using your FD acct as proof of funds. Afterall no be bank the FD dey? FD no be money?? You already said the issue you encountered. Them saying lump money came in. Them saying your expenses are more than your stated income and I've told you, submitting your FD investment advice / FD account statement is a work around solution to this. If you have 5m in FD you don't need to submit any other bank account that would be showing large outflows or inflows. Except you decide to modify and increase the figures you put for expense and income, based off earnings from your side hustle ; backing this with many explanations and evidence. The choice is yours MrMagnetic: I have a sole proprietorship account, but I don't use it. I have the CAC and TIN certificates. All payments from salary and side gigs go to my personal account.
Can I use the personal account statement + my salary payslips + invoices to my clients?
Also, I have 5M in fixed deposit.
I intend to have at least 3M balance in my personal account when printing the statement. The account is busy. No suspicious lump sum.
I will stay in the UK for 6weeks. It's a pre-doctoral research programme. I will also submit letter from my school registrar in Nigeria about my PhD programme in Nigeria.
My challenge is whether an invoice bearing a registered enterprise is ok when the money is paid to my personal account.
But, can't I defend it by saying that an enterprise is not actually a legal entity like limited liability companies? An enterprise is heavily associated with the founder.
Starting now to collect payments with the enterprise account seems late to me.
What do you think? |

As to inflows and outflows and expenses you answered the question already. You can't say your earning 350k and then have months where your expense is higher than 350k. The Immigration officer will use that to deny you visa. They work with guidelines. If you have a side gig making over 1.2m why don't you have a separate business account for your side gig. I believe at least you have a registered business name even if you don't have a registered liability company? Let your clients pay into your business account. Then have 2 bank statements for visa . Include CAC registration details, client invoice, etc Another solution : I've told you a workaround for this. Any lump sum that comes from your side business put it in FD (fixed deposit) build your FD statement for 2 to 3mths don't take out the money there. Or the earnings that come from your side gig make that your savings and don't touch much out of it. MrMagnetic: --- The issue with bank statements is if you have any inflow or outflows that exceeds your stated income or revenue, then they query that and it usually becomes an excuse for denial. ---
Does that mean if one's expenses (outflows) are bigger than his income (inflows), it will be an issue?
For instance, I earn 350k in salary, I wrote that I spend like 150k per month.
However, there are months, I spend more than 350k.
I have a side gig (providing media services to individuals and businesses), and I make over 1.2M from it every month.
How do I explain and demonstrate that I offer these services as a side hustle apart from my normal job?
The payments come in with narrations stating what the money is for. |

Okay. I schemed through. They talked about the balance in your bank account being more than your stated income. And how they were not sure you're a genuine visitor, and that you'll return home. Il ask you questions. Provide honest answers: 1) Did you put in a bulk sum of money into your account before applying for the visa? This is usually queried and frowned upon. Even if you wanted to put a bulk sum, I'd advice you place it in a fixed deposit with renmoney (I think they currently give the best interest rates) or any other bank of your choice. You can fix the money for minmum 3mths (thats my own discretion). I feel 3 months is safe enough; it shows the money didnt just enter recently, and theres a history that you've placed money for sometime. When it's time to apply for visa, ask the bank to give you an investment advice for the embassy. I know someone who used their Fixed Deposit advice for their last visa. They didn't bother with bank statement as they had a fixed deposit. The issue with bank statements is if you have any inflow or outflows that exceeds your stated income or revenue, then they query that and it usually becomes an excuse for denial. 2) You need to demonstrate strong ties with Nigeria, to prove you'll be return back. With your mum over there now they could also feel you may not wanna come back. To demonstrate strong ties, show proof of your existing working contracts and business relationships.Ask your employer to write you a letter etc, stating what you do, your value to the organisation , etc etc. Add proof of any investments you have here if any. Land projects etc. I don't know what you do but just giving you ideas Also show family ties here. If you're married , maybe with kids, mention yourw coming back home to your kids + husband . If your single and your nuclear family is here - father, bros, sis, mention you are coming back home etc etc. If you have family investments back here you manage. Mention that as well. You're coming back to manage your dad's properties etc etc. You get the drift. Provide enough evidence to prove to them you will return dharmee68: these are refusal mails I got back in 2021 |

Family friend inviting you, mum your sponsor, its sounding a bit complicated.... Firstly what reasons were given for the previous denials dharmee68: Good evening everyone, I’ll like to ask a question and will be glad if i get a response
I’ve applied for uk visitation visa twice and i was denied twice in 2021
I’ll like to apply again but what’s changed from then till now is my mum is currently living and working in the uk ,she doesn’t have her BRP yet but she has the right to work and has also been paying taxes
Is it possible to declare her as my sponsor this time around and won’t it jeopardize her current status?
And it’s a family friend that will be giving me the invitation letter instead as well?
And can i also declare in the self introductory letter that my purpose of visit is to see my mum? |

But I'm just thinking if I can be allowed in on Wednesday if I go with Wed. print out?
Do they still do further checks to confirm if I am booked for appointment or not?

Recent experience at TLS Ikeja contact center for UK Visa
Hi all,
So I recently visited the TLS center at ikeja for my biometrics and I kid you not I spent about 20mins in total. It was a breeze in and out.
People no dey go Youkay again o. Lol. There was no crowd at all. As I got to the gate, under 2 minutes, they checked my appointment confirmation and let me in. Then another lady checked all my docs, under 2 minutes again I was ushered into the main building. Spent about 10 mins on the queue where they checked my docs and gave me the black bag to proceed for biometrics.
At biometrics I spent another 7mins and I was done.
Now this takes me to my main question; If there's no crowd for visa, why can't people see close appointment dates? When I checked, the earliest datei saw was 10 days ahead.
Im wondering do they intentionally block out dates so one can pay for flexi (with flexi you pay about 90k to come on for any appointment at any time).
Because if no one is traveling people should be able to see close dates to book |

You have collected passport now oo, and didn't share the good news Which TLS contact centre did you use for your biometrics ? Drphade: Hello all, had biometrics on 22nd April, now I got collection email on 3rd of May, no other email. 3rd of May was a Friday and I got the email around 4pm (close of business), so I can't collect the passport until Monday.
The suspense is killing me guys, should I expect another email stating the UKVI's decision? because all I got was the collection email so far. The application was for standard visitor visa |

Probably because enugu dosent have enough traction of people compared to lagos or abuja.
