Some years back when I first registered newly, I made the mistake of confiding some some ancient secrets to someone I met here on Nairaland, and later the fellow turned out to be a douche bag with a grudge because I refused to give in to his request (quite a pervert, he is). Another one who befriended me in the Religion section came online with a different username to post my real names because we were facebook friends. After these incidents, I learnt my lesson about online friendships.

What is my point? When making friends online, be very wise and careful so that your personal life will not become fodder for every Tom, Dick and Harry to discuss and titter over. Nairaland is a microcosm of the society where we have the good, bad and the ugly, so be very very wise who you divulge your personal information to. Personally, I don't care if we are the bet of friends online. Offline, it is very different matter entirely.

I am not going to make any comments over what anyone does outside Nairaland; sending PMs, doing boyfriend/girlfriend, banging one million girls etc It isn't my business, neither is it anybody's for that matter. What matters to me is what happens online on the forum because I am a moderator (quite a thankless job, if I must be very honest). Rules were broken, and for every action there must be a reaction.

Darkenedrebel: You have this rather unfortunate habit of dragging family into your e-duels. In addition, you consistently and without remorse break rule 2. Your defence is you joke when you cuss. Mr Man, what is the joke in calling someone a slut and LovePeddler?? That kind of joke is too expensive. In your back and forth with cherryice, I lost count of the number of times you called her a slut and other unsavoury adjectives and nouns. Quite distasteful.

TheSonOfMark: I don't need to say much. You and I have corresponded privately so I know your mindset. You break rule 2 with alarming and disheartening alacrity, and in addition, in this latest duel, you have broken rule 10; Don't violate the privacy of any Nairaland member e.g. by posting personal details... without permission.

funlord: You 'tongue' is caustic and you break rule 2 with impunity. You don't believe in reporting rule breakers because you can treat their fuckup on to one. Issokay

Darkenedrebel, I believe you haven't gained admission into the higher institution. While you're processing your admission, work on your skills and talent. When I was awaiting admission I worked on my writing skills, and just shortly before I became a mod, I wrote and wrote, and wrote some more. Talent is like a blunt knife; it won't be any good to you unless you hone it. If you get busy discovering your talent, you will not have time for all these childishness being displayed here. GET BUSY. Like seriously.

OK, Ishilove a.k.a Ishiwahala, this is exactly what happened in a summary. The misunderstanding between Dark and Ladyboss months back wasn't what started it.

It all started yesterday when Darkenedrebel while chatting with Prettythicksme wrote these words below to her..

So from there it degenerated to a full-blown man-to-man verbal jousting between TSOM and Rrbel which is normal, we all do it on here. As they engaged in the duel, other warring parties joined in, some siding TSOM, while some sided Rebel. Even others faced each other on a different beef. It wass DURING THE VERBAL OUTLASH that Rebel's opponents used the Rebel vs Lala's angle to take shots at him, which is also normal considering that two opponents use whatever weapons in their arsenal to have the edge over each other. The tiff ended in the wee hours of the morning.


Then this morning, it got resurrected again and that's when TSOM brought an evidence that linked Rebel with some other monikers including a so-called Shàronnnn moniker (the main issue that escalated today's duel). It's some minutes/hour ago that the whole Rebel and Lala revelations sprang up. It wasn't the main ish that started the cussfest.


But it's nothing to ban anyone for, it's just normal misunderstanding. Õbinoscopy witnessed this morning's kerfuffle for many minutes, and didn't deem it ban worthy. He just gave few warnings and that was it. So it's nothing to worry about. Retire to your room and watch Ishawuru.
