meanwhile, I don't see anything wrong with what i did. perhaps you could try bringing out e^-0.25 as a common factor along with with the minus sign.
but i didn't think i needed to do that since it wasn't asked.

I might add, i made a mistake with the exponetial factor. it should be 1.25. not 20.

It's not . . . I don't think it's possible or mathematically correct to differentiate an expression. since calculus is not algebra. the expression needs to be some sort of function. The one given here is one related to time t. so, I'm guessing this is a distance function. x(t).
hence, the correct form would be

x(t) = 5e^-0.25t.cos(π/2)t

we can then differentiate x with respect to t. which means, to find the rate of change of x as t progresses or regresses.

for this we use the product rule since there are to distinct functions there.

set u = 5e^-0.25t
set v = cos(π/2)t

then, from the product rule, x'(t) = dx/dt = u.dv/dt + v.du/dt

dv/dt = -(π/2)sin(π/2)t
du/dt = - 20e^-o.25t . . .

performing a simple substitution, you may arrive at

-(5π/2)e^-0.25tsin (π/2)t - 20e^-0.25tcos (π/2)t

and you would be done. sir.
