It depends on the type of bowl you use to warm the food in the microwave, if it isn't microwave safe, there is a good chance that carcinogenic compounds (cancer causing compounds) will be released from the bowl, especially plastic bowls.
Also, some microwaves tend to leak(due to a faulty door), microwave radiation absorbed over a long period of time can lead to radiation sickness, cancer etc.
