I had explained it before to you, that the Igbos never practiced monarchy, this kind of rule was imposed to them by the British colonials, who needed a mediator between the people and them. So making this kind of system new to the Igbos(except the Obi of onitsha) What Igbos practiced is a democratic system of governance, in relation to their Greek and Roman counterparts. And by choosing this king, this king must be financially sustainable, to handle affairs in the community, and this system is only for indigenes of the community (and not for non-indigenes or your dog) ...this king was supposed to settle disputes, and was also being mandated to represent the community based on foreign affairs of the community(so the king is like the governor of the state).
