Abia State Scholarship Programme 2019 in Australia: The newly inaugurated Abia State Scholarship Board has invited applications from interested and qualified candidates, especially students and civil servants of Abia State origin for undergraduate and postgraduate schorlarship programmes in Australia.

The Board Chairman, Ambassador Empire Kanu disclosed this during the maiden press briefing of the Board.He said that the scholarship is for those who intend to study at the University of Newcastle and the University of New England, Australia. The Chairman explained that the postgraduate programme is for civil servants in the State who are not more than 50 years old or more than 25 years in the civil service. He commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his love for education which made him to enter into partnership with the two Australian Universities which made it possible for the scholarship.

Contributing, some members of the Board, Professor Sam Agu, Dr.(Mrs.) Achama Malik Egbuta and Dr. (Mrs) Nnenna Anyanwu informed that the courses to be done would be more of Information Technology and science based and would enhance development of the State.
They equally disclosed that apart from the abroad schorlarship, the Board would soon come up with modalities for scholarship within Nigeria.

Microsoft PhD Scholarship Programme 2020: Microsoft scholarships consist of an annual bursary up to a maximum of three years for PhD supervisors and students to do collaborative research projects with Microsoft Research Cambridge.

Each year, PhD supervisors from academic institutions in EMEA are invited to submit their proposals for collaborative research projects with Microsoft Research Cambridge. Applications are then peer reviewed and a number of projects selected for funding. PhD students are appointed to the selected projects and begin their research in the following academic year under the supervision of their academic supervisor, with co-supervision from a researcher at Microsoft Research Cambridge.

The Microsoft Research PhD Scholarship Programme in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) was launched in 2004 and has so far supported more than 200 PhD students from more than 18 countries and 51 institutions. Wits Journalism Africa-China Reporting Grants/Workshop: The Africa-China Reporting Project (ACRP or the Project) at Wits Journalism, with support from Omidyar Network, are inviting all journalists to submit proposals for reporting grants and workshop participation to investigate issues related to digital identification, data privacy, and technology in Africa.


Benefits

The Project will provide reporting grants of up to US$1,000 to successful applicants, who will also participate in a Digital Identity Training Workshop and the Civic Tech Innovation Forum in Johannesburg during the week of 28 October 2019.

Applications are open to all journalists who present Africa-focused proposals. Applicants need not necessarily have previous reporting experience in this area.

AMP Capital Infrastructure International Scholarship Eligibility

Eligible Countries: Australian and overseas students are allowed.
Acceptable Course or Subjects: Available for undertaking a Master of Finance, Master of Financial Analysis or the Master of Commerce (Finance) at the UNSW Business School.
Admissible Criteria: Aspirants must commence their studies in term 3 and have strong academic records with an interest in progress a career in infrastructure investing.

How to Apply for the AMP Capital Infrastructure International Scholarship: The participants are suggested to be enrolled in a master’s degree program at the university and then complete the online application for the grant.
Supporting Documents: As per you are going to take admission at the university, you have to submit your academic transcript, curriculum vitae, language ability evidence, or a copy of the passport.
Admission Requirements: Having an undergraduate degree is a must for a postgraduate degree program at UNSW
Language Requirement: If a candidate’s mother tongue is not English, then taking a TOEFL or IELTS test for demonstrating the English language proficiency is necessary.
