It can, and should be challenged if discriminatory or unjust, such as in this case, demanding a Nigerian trader must pay 1 million dollars to work in Ghana. All this man does is smile and speak phoneh while our neighbours harass our people left, right and centre, from South Africa to Ghana. Geoffrey Onyema, Foreign Minister I miss the days when we had powerful 'strong-head' foreign ministers who would never brook any rubbish from Ghana and the like. A roll-call of warriors like: Bolaji Akinyemi Jaja Wachukwu Ishaya Audu Joe Garba Ojo Maduekwe Baba Gana Kingibe Ike Nwachukwu Tom Ikimi Sule Lamido We need men in the mould of the above listed ex-foreign ministers, to go out there and fight for Nigerians, and bang down the president's door to demand action in the event of foreign provocative acts against this country, rather than this smiley-smiley man that seems too scared to hurt a fly. Can you imagine Tom Ikimi, Ojo Maduekwe or Bolaji Akinyemi doing 'fine boy' if Ghana bulldozes our embassy in Accra, and then starts harassing Nigerians working there? Akinyemi was even demanding Nigeria goes nuclear, and develops the 'black bomb' during his time. These are the types of foreign ministers we want. Fighters for the nation. 3 Likes |

Politics / Re: Nigeria’s Power Transmission Hits All-time Peak Of 5,420.3MW by Rossinkky: 1:23am On Aug 21, 2020 |
RuudVanNisteroy: OH SHUT UP... Go and learn history before talking rubbish. South Africa's power generation industry is at least 80 years older than Nigeria's. Meaning they've been pouring investment into power for nearly a century longer than Nigeria. South Africa's first power stations were built in the 1890s. By 1920 they had 4 huge power plants. By 1960 that number had reached past 20, with several older plants decommissioned due to old age. All this was before Nigeria had built her FIRST power plant. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_decommissioned_power_stations_in_South_Africa Contrast SA's history with Nigeria's: Nigeria's FIRST power plant was Kainji Dam, commissioned in 1964 by the Balewa govt. One thing many of you folks need to understand is that Nigeria is a NEWCOMER to modern development, a major reason being serious colonial looting, neglect and exploitation that saw the country only start to develop meaningfully AFTER independence in 1960. It will take SEVERAL DECADES for Nigeria to be where you ''expect'' her to be in terms of development. It is nothing to be ashamed about or beat yourselves up about. It's simply history playing itself out. Comparing yourselves to ''South Africa'' is as dumb as beating yourself up for being behind in a race, in which your opponent started 200 metres ahead of you. In the meantime, contribute your quota in a meaningful way instead of posting shallow garbage that betrays your intellectual vacuity. 2 Likes |

A NATION OF TREND-SETTERS Ghana coach Akonnor wants to follow Nigeria model in wooing Nketiah, Lamptey and co. By Prince Narkortu Teye Goal.com https://www.goal.com/en/news/ghana-coach-akonnor-wants-to-follow-nigeria-model-in-wooing/z0gclgbkgner1l6ges7v32bwn The Black Stars boss reveals their plans to strengthen the team's talent pool Ghana coach CK Akonnor has revealed admiration for Nigeria's national team player pool enhancement model of actively pursuing footballers of Nigerian roots in the diaspora. In recent years, the Super Eagles have boosted their squad with the likes of Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Maduka Okoye, William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun, who all qualified to play for various European nations either through birth place or parentage. Kingsley Ehizibue, Joe Aribo and Cyriel Dessers are among their latest acquisitions while the likes of Queens Park Rangers playmaker Eberechi Eze, Liverpool attacker Ovie Ejaria and Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka are reportedly being courted. "The most important thing is those who were born in Europe. Some of them are eager to play for the Black Stars," Akonnor told Starr FM. “That is what we want to do. Look at Nigeria, I think they have done that in a very nice way. “They have brought a lot of guys who were born in Europe and the Nigerian team is now transformed so we are trying to do the same with the national team.” In March, Akonnor, after a European tour, revealed a roster of seven Ghanaian disaporans who have either agreed to switch international allegiance to Ghana or are considering a possible career with the Black Stars. France-born Strasbourg centre-back Alexander Djiku, Anderlecht's former Netherlands youth defender Derrick Luckassen, France-born Gent midfielder Elisha Owusu and Enock Kwateng of French side Bordeaux, according to Akonnor, have decided to turn up for the Black Stars..” |

Everyone seems to think that it's only Nigerians who travel abroad, and that no one migrates to Nigeria. Nothing could be further from the truth. I put to you that there are not less than 10 million Africans of non Nigerian origin residing in NIGERIA today. From Cameroun. From Ghana. From Niger, Ivory Coast, Chad, Togo, Liberia, Sierra leone, Benin, Burkina Faso, DR Congo, Senegal and elsewhere. Many of them speak Nigerian languages. Nobody bothers them or discriminates against them. That is why they are quiet and we don't notice them. But they are here. 3 Likes |

Artiiclebeast: Failed youth blaming others for his failed status. In NIGERIA your JUNIORS who have never left Nigeria are establishing start-ups that are attracting funding from Silicon Valley and elsewhere to the tune of millions of dollars. You can live like a KING in Nigeria if you are positive and apply your brain. But no. Stay there with your failed, disgruntled, useless self. Did Nigeria not give you an education? Could your great grandparents or grandparents read or write under colonial rule? Were they not village illiterates? Now barely a generation later you have a lifestyle they couldn't even dream of, but still expect to be living in an African version of Japan or Germany. Otherwise, it is a ''failed state''. Don't wake up and realise you are in a developing country, like 80% of nations on earth, you hear? Keep being angry and disgruntled and hating your country til you hit the bucket, ya hear?
