hello mummies in the house, pls i need help for my baby. I had a set of twins july last year but one of them died after birth the second one survived but weight 1.2kg at birth, he had a severe jundice cus they were premature, i gave birth to them at 8month. I bossom feed him for six month before starting formula , he is gaining weight well. But when he was six month he went through operation to repair hernia that he had. So my main concern now is that he is 7month and he has not gain full control of his neck not to talk of seating pls this giving me concern and make me cry any time i see children that are younger than him seating already. If u know what i can do to help developing his milestones pls give ur advice.

who say naija no get better pple? Nigerians are better by far. If u want to know nigerians better come nairaland. This thread has increase my hope for better naija. Get well soon djdola

giv him semi solids made to a very light consistency, then gradually advance as he gets older.
like pap(ogi), cerelac, and other baby cereals.
you csn prepare mashed potatoes, rice and beans for him, without pepper....
but pls always observe ur baby for alergies, you withdraw d food, and introduce it later as he advances.

I didn't use canned food for my kids at alll...

strap him/her on your back always with wrapper and oja, whenever you are busy let your husband place him/her on his chest while he lay on his back then breast feed the child well and give him vit c please avoid anti boitics please. Then get yourself carotenoid, tre en en, salmon plus, nutri shake and all c. God be with you and your baby.

okk.U didnt say how long he has had it for and if there s associated cough.When my baby had catarrh, i used home tgerapy and vitC, didnt gv antibiotics. U cld use mentholatum, rub on his sides and under his nose.Cover him well, bathe him wt water dat is somehw hot(nt too hot to burn him o).Suck out d catarrh , if u can. do this for 2days and tell us how he is.Gv vitC too.And of course, pray for him. its well dear. he ll b fyn

he is having the catarrh for 5days now and i applied silver bird yesterday it helped but he has been sleeping excessively since yesterday.

u shldnt start treating catarh wt cefuroxime. hv u been to ur dr? How old s ur baby? how long has he had d catarrh for. any cough? is it catarrh or 'blocked nose'/ noisy breathing?

all those drugs were given by a doc at the teaching hospital but i stoped using it cus it has not helped the catarrh. My baby is preterm but now 3months and i'v never given him water so far

pls doctors in the house i need ur help on how to cure my baby's catarrh, i'v used vitamin c, cefuroxime and silver bird but the catarrh is stiil there. He even finds it diff to sleep at night.

am really so sorry for what the boy is going through right now and the pain the parents are also going through cus i also went through some painful moments of my life 2months ago, when i had a set of twins and i lost one at birth and the other one was struggling with his life in the nursery. They were boys., the one that survive was so tiny that u could hardly carry him but with God on my side he survive and he is doing great now. The docs lost hope, some family members lost hope, even it got to a stage i myself lost hope but God gave me testimony. It was when i started saying the words of faith to the boy's ears that his condition started improving, things like u will not die, u will live, becouse u have tasted my breast milk u will not die, whatever that is not of God in ur system will leave and continue reading psalm 8 and 19 morning and night in the nursery and with tears in my eyes God of heaven answered me speedily.
All my write up is mainly for the mother of this boy, let her enter covenant with God, its not all about money or surgery, its about miracle. I'v seen it, it has happened to my boy and will surely happen again with brian amen. He will not need surgery when God takeover. I pray that the breath of God will enter him in Jesus name amen.

giving birth to a preterm baby can be so demanding. But when u have the idea of what to do to keep the baby healthy i think u dont have much problem, apart 4rm the stress from sleepless night and expressing breast milk.
Here are some things that will help u to stay calm and focus to take good care of that tiny baby that will soon become big.
1. ALWAYS KEEP THE BABY WARM. Keep the baby in a good warm room, in such a place that many people will not have access to.
2.FEED THE BABY EVERY 2HRS. They sleep alot, so make sure u wake them to eat. Ur doc most have told u the quantity of food to give the baby, depending on the weight of the baby. Pls no over feeding.
3.DONT GIVE THE BABY TO ANYBODY THAT COMES TO VISIT. They need a very clean environment and u dont know if that person carrying ur baby has washed hands in the last 3hrs.
These are little but important points i can type now more on the way. Its time to feed my baby. Pls feel free to contribute
