STELLA DAMASUS CELEBRATES DAUGHTER AS EMERGES HIGH SCHOOL VALEDICTORIAN AND BAGS SCHOLARSHIP

One of Nollywood's most beautiful actresses, Stella Damasus, is celebrating her daughter, Angelica as she bags a university scholarship after graduation from high school in the United States of America.

The apparently proud mother took to her Instagram page on Thursday, 25th June, where she flooded her timeline with photos of her daughter.

She went further to reveal that her daughter has gotten a scholarship from the prestigious Colombia University and also emerged as class valedictorian from her graduating high school.

She wrote, "My beautiful daughter @angelicatooni graduated high school today. I am such a proud mum right now. She didn't only get a scholarship to @columbia she is also #valedictorian of the class of 2020. #classof2020 #columbiauniversity,"

The beautiful actress didn't end there as she revealed in one of the photos that even though her daughter didn't want all the social media buzz, she couldn't keep calm over the achievement.

‘Africa On Netflix’, Netflix’s latest campaign shows off prominent players in it’s streaming and commissioned Originals.

The US streaming platform, Netflix, is consolidating it’s grounds in Africa and with two acclaimed originals already in the bad and a few other things commissioned, there seems to be no deceleration.

Days after making known it’s newly commissioned original series and features with Nigerian media magnate, Mo Abudu, the streamer has debuted an utterly new ‘ Africa On Netflix’ campaign to showcase the talents and prominent players involved in the production of content from African origin.

The trending video features salient Nollywood players, Genevieve Nnaji, Kate Henshaw, Akin Omotoso, Kunle Afolayan and Mo Abudu together with South Africa’s Gaopie Kabie, Pearl Thusi, Bontle Modiselle Moloi, Kagiso Lediga, Nosipho Dumisa, Ama Qamata, Busisiwe Ntintiliand Scottnes Smith.

According to him “it was affecting my Education. I was missing classes & Test and it’s year one I have not even seen my CGPA. So I had to be careful , the station was not that considerate too. So that led to my stopping too”

The Nigerian entertainment industry has greatly evolved from how it used to be, seeing as times have changed and things are relatively easier. Nollywood actor, Prince Adewale Adeyemo, has recounted how he lost his twins in 1988 while he was away on a job where he earned N40 per day.

The actor recounted the story in an exclusive interview with Yoruba Movie Gist.

He said: “I went to a movie location in Lagos state, there was a man called Apereijangbon, we were at his movie set, then there was no public bus plying Meran road, no mobile phone also to communicate with me. I was working and earning only 40 naira per day, I was living at Berliet Ilasa and before I could get home, a lot had happened. I got home around 6pm and I found the house to be emptied, I learnt that my wife was at Ijora with my mum and my sister who is now late. So, I was forced to go and check on them, on getting to Ijora I discovered my daughter Taiwo is dead. The following day I had to go back to the location to complete the job, so on getting to the location I spent five days extra again and when I returned home, the second child Kehinde already bowed out.

At that juncture, my sister changed everything for me, fought with me bitterly because she doesn’t understand the kind of job I am into; she advised me angrily that I should look for another job rather than acting. This was what influenced her to get me a watch night job which I refused to be part of.
