Recent ratings of universities in Africa puts University of Ibadan; a Nigerian university as number 8 in africa.
While many Nigerian universities may not be as beautiful as their south african counterparts{though there are exceptions like Babcock university,American university of Nigeria,Convenant university,Bells etc..},Nigerian universities are extremely keen on intellectual awareness and development, that is why you would see Nigerian universities always winning international competitions worldwide; building cars,rockets,robots,mini-helicopters,designing mobile applications and advanced softwares.
The world rated south african universities based on infrastructural advancements and research capabilities, but in truth,SA is far behind in terms of human capacity development.
the same criteria that placed Harvard n.o1 nd UCT 122 ,is the same that rated unilag 1222 . Pls post a link that proves yo statement ...nd I no u won't find 1 . I no it's hard but put patriotism aside nd argue on the facts .nd on those yo statement remains an opinion

It is amusing to watch you south africans overhype your universities; a relative of mine went to UNISA for a 2 year course programme a few years ago,and barely 10 months later, when he came to Nigeria on a visit,he was shuddering in disgust at the nearly abysmal level of intellectual standard and human capacity development. At the end of the day,on completing his programme,he was full of regret for ever patronizing the south african education system. He had to terminate further enrollment for an advance degree.
Though SA has beautiful and infrastructurally developed schools, but it certainly doesnt make your schools the best in the world.

do not let your school read this. You cannot mention your school together with this broken effort of english.

You have succeeded in proving to the world that your university ranking is as fraudulent as your world cup hosting. You can't even deliver a proper literary effort when your integrity, together with that of your country and school are on the line? grin grin grin

Typical of a Zulu; nothing is as despicable and nauseating as a Zulu emboldened by ignorance grin

One last shot: we don't care about your opinion of us. We don't give a rat's ass if you love us or hate us. We're just content that we freed you from the caves and mountains the whiteman sent you and your forebears.

A South African addressing a black American saying our whites ain't African ...

Thuli

This article does not make any sense. Any person who quotes a source like wiki, should not even be writing articles. It
is not a credible source. If your are not a South African, you will not understand how we work in this country. Yes, we
have Afrikaners(they do not call themselves Afrikaan!!) and Africans. Mostly we are called South Africans. What should
we call the rest of the country that does not fall in this categories? Some of my friends are Afrikaner and others are
white but does not speak Afrikaans, but English, what should I call them? So please stick to what you know, or come
and visit our beautiful country and get you facts straight. Please remember what racism has done to this country, we do not need anymore of that from a non-South African.

South Africa praises Nigerian military for its apartheid-era help

by defenceWeb, February 9, 11:54 pm

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) foreign relations head has praised the Nigerian Armed forces for its strong relationship with the South African military.

Major General Daniel Mofokeng, head of SANDF Foreign Relations, said Nigeria was in the forefront in the struggle against apartheid and that the country made huge sacrifices for the liberation of South Africa from minority rule.

Nigeria supported the then Frontline States organisation, which was established to achieve democratic majority rule in South Africa. Former members included Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. According to the South African Institute of International Affairs, Namibia contributed an estimated US$61 billion towards the anti-apartheid effort between the 1980s and 1994.

Nigeria played a pivotal role in establishing the United Nations Special Committee against Apartheid in the 1960s while ordinary Nigerians contributed financially to the anti-apartheid movement, especially in reaction to the 1976 Soweto uprisings.

Mofokeng said that Nigeria also offered military training and support to assist the African National Congress. According to him, Nigeria's gesture helped shore up relations between Abuja and Pretoria.

"I must say the relations between the two countries most especially before 1994; has been extra ordinary in the sense that Nigeria has been in the forefront in the anti-apartheid struggle. It assisted and trained our cadre, our students and military students then. So I must say the cooperation between the two has been very great indeed".

"The Nigerian Armed Forces' very intimidating credentials, in terms of its military professionalism, is exemplified by its role in Liberia, Sierra Leone and most recently, in Ivory Coast," Nigeria's Defence Adviser to South Africa, Commodore Jacob Ajani told the Voice of Nigeria

"In most international fora you find out that it comes easily that Nigeria takes the frontline by way of providing leadership. We have provided many force commandants for the United Nations' peace keeping missions and the Africa Union as well."

The Nigerian Defence adviser had hosted fellow Defence attaches and Advisers at a reception to commemorate the 2012 Nigeria's Armed Forces and Remembrance Day celebrations in Pretoria, South Africa. The day is celebrated on January 15 every year.[/b] SOURCE:http://itweb.co.za/mobilesite/defenceweb/home/item_id-23419/

Reminding you makes you feel helpless. I have read this before. I mean the part where you said S.A don't know about our efforts against apartheid.

I can only giggle with wicked grin. Am I surprised? Not at all.

As a matter of fact, south African blacks don't know anything much going on around the world. FACT.

Most of you went to school a little too late, too old. Your own history as a people and tribe is completely written for you by the Boer conquerors. They have convinced you that you're settlers in Africa grin

Wikipedia has the facts or you could do a quick Google scan with the caption " nigeria-south Africa relations. Your presidents have acknowledged this fact as does your national museum Secretary.

Now south Africa's gratitude/ recognition is irrelevant. You don't count. We did more for Liberia, Sao tome, Sierra Leone, Togo and Mali and didnt even whisper about it.

I will always remind you who is boss in Africa. South Africa is only a lizard who think it self a crocodile.

Whenever you justify xenophobia with Africans taking your jobs, I'll always remind you who gave you those jobs in the first instance.

SA will always be Nigeria's wife. We purged you of apartheid. We are purging you of xenophobia

stop posting links; I have tried many of your links and it turned out you don't even read or understand them.

South Africa fought and lost the apartheid wars. Until Nigerian African initiative came along , you Zulus would still be hoping from tree to tree and making primitive gestures for communication.

LET'S REVIEW YOUR LAME ATTEMPTS AT FREEDOM:

Steven Biko was murderd by afrikaner police after an illegal arrest. Zulus did nothing.

Mandela was hunted down he fled to Algeria where he acquired guerrilla warfare strategy. Then he left for Port Harcourt ,Nigeria where he was empowered monetarily and logistically.

He was subsequently arrested and detained for the rest of his functional years. Obasanjo paid him a visit as did several head of states in Nigeria. Consequently, over 500 Zulus were educationally empowered by Nigeria to study abroad and in Nigerian universities. Even President Mbeki was not left out from the Nigerian benevolence.

Zulus tried ONE LAST FRANTIC ATTEMPT AT FREEDOM: Spears, sticks, poison-arrows and catapult were readied in the most primitive assemblage in modern warfare.

It was suicidal; a show of borrow. Zulus were cut down and fell like heavy bags of potatoes. It was horrifyingly brutal. A spectacular show of humiliation and defeat; IT WAS THE SOWETO MASSACRE

And Nigeria said she has had enough. Economic blockade was implemented against the West, particularly great Britain.

Diplomatic presure was mounted. Commonwealth was boycotted. Millions of dollars was given to the ANC for upliftment and support.

Other sympathetic African countries were aligned into a massive resistance.

And Bota buckled. And De Klerk quivered in a panic spasm. And Mandela was let loose. And Nigeria enshrined her name in the bowels of south Africa's history forever and ever.

And your sentiment can't rewrite south Africa's history. The world witnessed it and know the story. And Nigeria is the hero in the long episode with the villain changing from Boers to Zulus.

You are forever indebted to Africa, chiefly Nigeria.

This eternal debt is what makes every zulu so small whenever they come across a Nigerian.

Power generation in Nigeria is divided into 3.

Government Generated power

IPP (Independent power produces)

Household generated power.

At peak periods the Government produces 6,000MW of power.

Heavy industries like Dangote, Honeywell, General Electric, Telecommunications /ICT providers, Construction companies, Automobile Assembly and spare parts manufactures, Banks& insurance firms, Ship builders and OIL & Gas industry, Cement manufacturers, large scale furniture manufactures, Electrical parts/Transfomers/electronics manufactures all etc etc all fall under Independent Power Producers. These group of people produce 15,000MW of power.

http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/dangote-group-honeywell-others-generate-15-000mw-captive-power/176725/

Household generated power, there are 170 million Nigerians, with 80% of all Nigerian households generating additional power for their homes and Smes. The amount of power these set of people generate is not recorded, however given their sheer size, they generate between 8000- 10,000mw of additional power.
nd then ul produce 100 000MW ...yeah yeah yeah we get it ..U waiting on yo "potential" to cum thru

I exposed you for the fraud you are and you swiftly change tactics like a cheap, filthy courtèsãn.

You claimed south Africa was Africa's number tourist destination. I proved you a lier and a desperate fraud. Now let's do the math of all your claims.

1) BRIC: you were NEVER a part of this club. China only invited you in. You actually contributeJust 2% of BRIC's GDP grin . you make the group actually weaker. Most international political observers still refer to it as BRIC and not BRICS. Your own press actually confessed south Africa is more a briquette than a bric. Bwahahaha. O'Neil, the internationally renowned economist who coined BRIC never included South Africa.

2) G20, you aren't in the world's top 25 economies. So what's south Africa doing in this group? Actually, a group of sympathetic ideologist who are quite benevolent to the African course thought it prudent that one country from Africa should be included, not out of merit or economic viability or infrastructural compatibility but rather to make it more representative of the world. grin. South Africa was futunate at the time (2010?) to be the number economy of Africa. It's more like the UN power houses deciding to cut some slacks to less powerful countries by appointing them into non permanent security seats. Bwahajahaja.

Well, Nigeria has been the boss now. And you're going down. From having -by far- the largest economy on the continent, by being the 5th largest contributor to the UN peace keeping force in the world. By having a youthful population of more than 60% around 18 years of age and making 1/5th of Africa's population with a giant middle class and strong entrepreneurial citizens, we remain Africa's true representative.
South Africa is already jittery asking for Africa to have two permanent security members. Why? Because Pretoria knows she will lose out with only one slot to vie for.

Your companies in Nigeria only makes you weaker diplomatically between us. Where is your common sense , since you lack sociopolitical one? We supply you oil. Why do you think Pretoria always buckles when Abuja is angry? grin grin grin ask China and Russia.

By 2030, Nigeria is projected internationally to be the 15th biggest economy of the world. Now scratch your Zulu head in wonderment. All the big populated countries account for 70% of the world's GDP.
We are just taking out rightful place amongst the committee of nations.

Why do you think S.A is on the decline rapidly. The show is over for you. With no insurgency or civil disturbances in South Africa, Forbes has ranked South Africa the 122nd safest place to live. grin grin

Now tell me, what's my name?
wow...wel spaced garbage . Blah blah blah blah blah ... Congratulations ! U the dumbest African alive ...generators wil run Nigeria 4eva Bcoz of u

Six comments from my last post!!! It really must have made your fingers itchy grin.

Are you doubting CNN's report? Don't be a desperate fool now. So you won't need to add stupidity to your long list of shortcomings.

If you don't have basic international political knowledge you have no business here. Empty and primitive patriotism isn't nearly enough, son.

Let me help you now: South Africa has been isolated 3 times in Africa. The first was when Mandela -fresh out of prison -was naively urging the common wealth to sanction Nigeria over the ogoni 9. The isolation Nigeria handed south Africa was so effective, south Africa had to review and CHANGE her foreign policy grin grin

The Libyan and Ivorian crisis taught south Africa another bitter lesson. South African government is run by former Zulu fighters alien to modern leadership. Why embarrass yourselves by arresting the Sudanese president and then cowardly allowing him to escape ?

I reiterate, Nigerians are the most educated group in the united States. I asked you for proof of Serena Williams claiming to be south African. And you have run away.

South Africa isn't the most visited country in Africa. For you want proof.

There are no Zulu immigrants in any country because :1 Zulus are hardly docile and sevens on food stamps and handouts from the government.

2: these food stamps don't cross the boarders of south Africa. So Zulus can't migrate where the food stamp won't follow. Talking about the most economically redundant group in africa.

Nigerians are the most entrepreneurial in Africa and the most mobile, active and dominant.

We remain Africa's entertainment power house. With nollywood raking in over 800 million dollars anually.

In buhari's inaguration, south africa left all pretences of diplomacy to realign with Abuja.
u gud at dumb ..I said no1 tourist destination ..u go on about Zulus not migrating . Serena thing ...? No 1 in S.A wants to claim her ...she was here nd no 1 cared. I really must have hurt you so bad you can't even compose your writings. grin. OK, give us a link which shows Serena Williams claiming to be from south Africa. Just so I will take you seriously. Do it on next post, please.

Nollywood is number 3 in the world as reported by CNN. Why do you claim the world doesn't know about it? Nollywood earned Nigerian accent the 6th best accent in the world by CNN poll 2015. Do you want the proof?

Koffi Anan , former UN Secretary General in January 2015 just before the general elections declared that "the destiny of Africa is in the hands of Nigeria" do you want proof?

The ISS report says Nigerian would emerge the only true African super power cool

The BBC says Nigeria is the most important African country there is. It even carried out a physical poll count in several African cities to conduct feelers of Nigeria's sole leadership in Africa.

Your own government has been jiltery with retreat and apologies whenever there's a rift with Nigeria. Should I go on?

Nelson Mandela was the last hype south Africa had. He's gone and your country is like any other southern African country looking for relevance and desperately bribing to host a world cup grin.

The only tourist attraction attracting foreigners to south Africa is Mandela's cell and the scene of Soweto massacre were Zulus were silenced by automatic weapons while they charged half unclad with long spearsgrin gringrin.

Nigeria's music has traveled the world over as have her home videos.

Don't tell me about Nigerians in south Africa. Your government officially asked for professionals in 1994 to feel up government and public vacancies Zulus were incompetent to handle. Later waves of few criminal element travelled to S.A in grand collabo with their host/resident Zulu criminals to turn your whole cities into one massive junk yard.

Nigerians are the most educated people in the United States, more educated than the Americans. Nigeria remains the only black Africa to win the miss world beauty pageant.

South Africa is a synonym for xenophobia, inequality and HIV.

South Africa remains the only country several African countries have protested against, rebuked and threatened to sever relationship with simultaneously in Africa. What a shame.
CNN reports everything ,no suprise there.. U say Nigerians are the most educated ppl in America? Lol.. Synonym for xenophobia ? Only in Africa nd thers nothing any African country can do about it.polls ? U ppl hav a community in every country. Music ? Only Nigerians nd Kenyans love nd understand yo music . Yo hate for Zulus is alarming ..but I get it ..u fear them.african countries can't say nothing since their ppl pile up on our borders seeking refuge from the sh1t bck home. Our celebs in America or anywer else are proud to be South African . Yo ppl are ashamed of Nigeria nd u no it..even serena (hu clearly luks nd is Nigerian ) rejects u guys . We are loved the world over ...xenophobia had no effect on the economy ..the west said nothing about it coz they wud Neva turn on S.A .HIv ?instead of running ,ppl from the west flock here to support but Neva criticize us. Africa's no1 tourist destination , our cities compete with 1st world cities .we can Neva be compared ..we are 80 years apart

you're always so emotional. The world always group north Africa with the middle east, punk grin.

Why the fvck do you think the term "sub Sahara" Africa has been popularised to refer tothe rest of Africa excluding north Africa.

Segregating south Africa by settlers and race has been the world's favourite topic. Until zulus manage to carve out a heritage and legacy in south Africa for themselves, it is going to stay that way. That is why south Africa has suffered legitimacy problems in Africa. The world still sees the foundation of south Africa as a white man's heritage with black having no input whatsoever. They have even managed to convince you that you're settlers in Africa grin grin

The bottom line is that no Zulu has a bragging right in south Africa yet. There's still segregation in SA. With Orania and kleinfontein being an all white settlements. Africa is a continent and a people. Every black man that works the face of the earth is African. Egyptians are in Africa but they would be refered to as Arabs. Your Boers are just that -Boers/Afrikaners or white people. And the world asks, where is an African country that have carved up his technology, infrastructure and economy without the west? Nigeria has answered the naysayers.

Nigeria is Africa's biggest and indigenous country with every tribe contributing to the heritage and foundation of this country. And the world awaits us for a true African giant to rice and take its place like China, Japan and Korea have done it for the orient . Saudi Arabia , Egypt and UAE have done for Arabs.

When the BBC calls Nigeria Africa's most important country they knew very much about your stock exchange and your infrastructure. They know it won't count for you against us.grin.
yo stupidity has finally done it ...broke my back. The world doesn't care about Nigeria ..whites nd Chinese built and own Nigeria but they dnt want to live there ,so u lie to yo self nd say we did it . This illusion of Nigeria being important is extreme. No one is inviting u anywer ..BRICS ,G20 etc ,giv me one Nigerian admired around the world? None. Oprah called it right saying u ppl are only gud at corruption ..that's wat the world nos about Nigeria . Another e.g ..nollywood produces more movies but stil the world doesn't even notice ..who gets noticed ? South Africa. Of al great leaders in Africa ,who's loved across the globe ? A South African .which country is visited more by the west ? South Africa . Face facts ..no one wants to be associated with being Nigerian ..even serena Williams who's clearly Nigerian was lyin to media saying her roots are in S.A .evrybody but some Nigerians love S.A ..sinc most of yo successful ppl are here al the damn time . Yo population is the only reason ppl notice u exist ..otherwise u just can't touch S.A .." I cue the national anthem" thers nothing beta than being South African .even Hollywood stars (lying to themselves of cos)try nd claim it as home coz it's that appealing

That's the lists of Nigeria's top 20 billionaires. And there's hope for Africa. Matter of fact, by continent , Africa is the fastest growing continent in the world. But you wouldn't know since South Africa's bubble burst since 2008. The rest of Africa is growing rapidly led by Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Angola etc.

Learn, Zulu while Nairaland offers you free informal education.

south Africa have only 7 billionaires. That's counting the settlers. While all of black south Africa has just one: Patrice mutsepe grin your quality of life is one step higher than Burundi's. 85% of Black's live below the poverty line. With residents of kleinfontein literally living with their very faeces. Nigeria has got over 20 billionaires and the largest middle class in Africa.

http://newobserveronline.com/black-population-in-south-africa-has-increased-by-920-in-100-years/ All this emotional horseshit just to correct some demographics? Zulus are well over 80% of the population. But I get your sentiments: the lower the population of zulus, the less redundant and docile they'll appear. So you say 79% for Zulus but I say 85%. In essence most coloured south Africans are more or else Zulus (black south Africans). They are often blacks mixed with white or other races who are by affiliation, social status and economic class, zulus. This describes most of you half bred Zulus on this forum. Whites often always considers any stain in their race a contamination in all countries that has mixed races.
Whites are also 8% in South Africa and not your 9.1%

Ok, so who owns and runs the economy,? You say the government. Isn't that a dumb, simplistic answer. Everyone knows the Boers/ Afrikaner runs and owns the economy. Zulus can't even feed themselves. In 2015 Zulus still practice subsistent farming not even enough to feed and store up. 6% Afrikaner/white produce the whole food for local consumption and export for south Africa. This group run your defence department, financial/stock market, large firms and corporations. Zulus still wait for handouts and mandatory employments as black birthrights. Mind you south Africa is the only country where majority ethnic group are backed by statutory compulsory employment as if they're in the minority.

What's the cry about Nairaland I heard you say. Whipping up sentiments . South Africans are on an ego massage trip here and have made this thread more argumentative and empty fabricated rhetorics with little fact.http://www.indexmundi.com/south_africa/demographics_profile.html

and this is an African giant that has potential? U divide evrything ..no South African has Eva said nigerias development or lack thereof is owed to Yorubas or igbos . Whites ,Zulus and evrything South African is South Africa .being black is not being African ..Arabs(Libya ,Egypt ,Tunisia etc) are there in Africa nd they dnt even want to be African but u beg them .yo inferiority complex coupled with tribalism nd racism is realy uninspiring .and u busy talking about South Africa lyk u no about it, correcting stats u no nothing about..it's lyk this there are more whites in South Africa than there are whites in New Zealand .screw yo fake stats

Any sensible country cuts power in the night when its more bearable to the populace....well,of course SA isnt a sensible country.
You will continue to have power cuts till Nigeria comes to colonize you with electricity.
lol,i'm a young man,and by 2050,i'll still be fit enough to chase skirts{lol}.When we have 120 000MW of electricity,SA will still be digging tunnels seeking gold and diamond with candles, while you write down your final will and testament with an oil lamp.
i think this guy does this to himself on purpose ...he nos Nigeria is going nowhere .i repeat ..u ppl shud just wait for Jesus Bcoz all yo hopes nd dreams wil lead to nothing

By the time you reach 100 000MW,Nigeria would have reached or even surpassed that amount.
You do not know the huge power projects currently being contructed,Nigeria is building another 5000MW hydro-electric power dam along with solar energy projects that would run into over 6000MW.We are also increasing the capacity of our existing power generators by hundreds of megawatts,in 2015 alone, license have being issued for the construction of many gas power plants(at least 6 thermal power plants),a huge coal power plant of 2000MW in the east and other IPPs in the country.By 2020,we will have a combine capacity of 48 000MW to power Africa's biggest economy, largest industry and richest country.
dreams dreams dreams ...wake up . South Africa is yo daddy
