Culture / Re: Dreadlocks = Rastafarism? by ruffstylie(m): 5:25am On Sep 23, 2010 |
People associate dreadlocks with rastafari all the time because they think the two go hand and hand. First of all, dreadlocks are a part of the rastafari culture but you can be a rastafari and not have dreads. Rastafari is a religious belief but more importantly, a way of life. It is not a hairstyle. In fact, it pisses REAL rastas off when people associate anyone with dreads as being rasta. Dreadlocks is just a hairstyle, no more, no less. There is a stigma in the Caribbean too against dreads and rastas but younger generation is getting wiser. 1 Like 1 Share |

kayode256: Cool. By the way, Beenie Man isn't a rapper. He's a dancehall artist. A rapper and dancehall artist are similar but not the same. 1 Like |
Culture / Caribbeans In Nigeria by ruffstylie(m): 1:00am On Aug 22, 2010 |
I made this thread in another forum and someone advised me that I'd be able to get more answers if I post a thread in here. I am just wondering if: 1) There are a lot of Caribbeans living in Nigeria, where do they live or do they have Caribbean communities in Nigeria ? 2) What is the general attitude of Nigerians towards Caribbeans in Nigeria ? Please share your thoughts. 1 Like |
