It means you have not drank to certain limits.

I am not an advocate of drug abuse but when ethically used, I would admit I am.

Stimulants give pleasure and drive. It is an energy you have probably failed to acknowledge and accept as a force.

If you are able to stimulate the brains to points where subject matter is still at the center of the brain, you will break through.

Might not be instantaneously, but a road map you will see.

Read Act 2 in the Holy Bible. The energy you take towards alcohol is what you will receive. Be constructive with your thoughts when next you want to get drunk
Bla bla bla and bla..... still it solves nothing.

I sip sometimes, but when I do.... it's simply for the pleasure or to set relaxation mood or for the fun of it.
There is really no value it adds be it little or more.

Always check the age demographic of people saying marriage is scam ... you will hardly find someone above 45 among them.

- Marriage is like that land they told you to buy when you were 25 but believed it too bushy only for you to rent a house for millions of naira in the same area 20 years after.

- Just hope you become very wealthy by the time you turn 45, because its either you sleep with ashawo or people's wife because at that age it will be very very hard for you to get 25 years old girl who is willing to marry a 45year old man except you have decent money. And don't forget you've already gotten to that age where you just want to stay in door on the weekends coz you don't want to be the oldest man in the club .

BusinessRe: Throwback: Kingsway Stores by ruzell86: 5:16pm On Sep 25, 2025
ElevationD:
Kingsway stores. Waoh. Good to remember. Just like UTC and Leventis stores then it Lagos. There was Chellarams too just before Kingsway. They were more than Shoprite. It was facing what was they known as Quay side or “key side” as everyone pronounced the entire front facing Lagos lagoon. It had very huge shopping floors with mostly foreign goods. You could purchase everything from groceries to food to household equipments, clothes, bicycles and the now famous Mr. Biggs situated on the ground floor at a time was known as Kingsway rendezvous! Kingsway was a branch of UAC and very well organized until horrible leaderships ensured that such stores as mentioned were shut down. People took off their shoes and slippers as they walked into the place believing that it was the rule. Security personnel at the doors would ask them to please wear their shoes and slippers. Na people from Mushin, Maroko and Ajegunle dey comot shoe for leg enter Kingsway, Leventis and UTC. They were considered bush people!

Each time you get to Marina, in front of Oando before CMS bus stop, you cannot but take a look at the building, where Kingsway was housed. The entire stretch of the road between Marina and Broad street right in front of Oando was Kingsway stores. Immediately you cross Apongbon under the bridge, it was Kingsway rendezvous by the left. Chop meat pie there and you no go chop am finish. There was the regular meatpie and the peppered meatpie. Lagos too sweet before abeg. The big building by the foot of Ojota bridge was Kingsway rendezvous. The next Kingsway rendezvous was at Niger motors bus stop, Apapa wharf. Lagos was good, not because it was beautiful, but the peace and too many places to visit. Kingsway stores had the only other Lagos showroom at Apapa, where you have the present Cash and carry stores. Infact the whole of that area is called “Kingsway” because of that Kingsway stores there. Right opposite them was UTC and adjacent to UTC was the then Leventis. That building was shared between Leventis stores and the defunct Roxy cinema. The floor containing Roxy cinema now is owned by RCCG, who I think bought it in the early 2000s. Those who lived in Apapa should know that. Leventis stores had a branch in Surulere at James Robertson. It was situated at the junction enroute through Akerele to what was and still as known as bus corner bus stop. Those who live around Ogunlana, Shitta, Masha, Randle Avenue, Lawsnson, etc should know the popular bus corner bus stop. Lagos too sweet and peaceful, before until politicians came in 1999 and brought divisions.
With this knowledge of Lagos... baba you suppose don be ward Councillor, walahi.

Well said OP. Great piece of article this is. Thank you.

No wonder, I already clicked on the 'like' even before reading the last paragraph, while in the midst of necessary distractions.

I can say that 2 quotes (one by Saadi and the other a random quote) pasted behind the main entrance door leading to our sitting room area by my dad, had a positive and lasting impact on my life to this day... even when he's passed on. You just never know.

I read the words playfully and repeatedly till a pattern was formed in me. I'm still grateful for this.

PoliticsRe: Amaye: Mob Burns Nigerian Woman To Death For Alleged Blasphemy by ruzell86: 7:48am On Sep 04, 2025
WizardOfNG:
I am yet to hear of a case to do with Christians killing over blasphemy againt their God.

You cannot compare killings by Christians commited over superstitious fear, which is rare and condemned in the South anyway and will be punished severely, to killings over blasphemy in the North that is common, casually endorsed/approved by most Northerners at all levels of society and therefore goes unpunished.

Two very seperate things. Kill in the South over religion and you will be arrested, charged for murder in a competent Court of law and jailed.

Same occurrence in over-religious North, where the view that killing in defence of Islam is just and fitting, carries no consequences for the offender. That is wrong and condemnable.

The North must criminalise the practice, as is the case with the South , and I believe you should understand the need to respect the sanctity of human life must be consistent across Nigeria otherwise it is a good case for the North and South to be seperate nations.

Different people and regions of nation should not have separate and contradictory viewpoint over fundamentally important issues such as societal endorsement of what is universally condemnable i.e casual killings of our fellow human beings.
.
Well said.

The North and South of Nigeria are two regions with entirely different ideology, religion and people.... completely different, It's sad.

TV/MoviesRe: My Review On "To Kill A Monkey" Trending Nollywood Movie by ruzell86: 9:03pm On Aug 05, 2025
Onlinegist:
TO KILL A MONKEY: Great Film, But I Have Reservations. After all the hype and well deserved applause for "To Kill a Monkey", I still have some reservations. Yes, the movie was great, from the acting to the cinematography, but certain aspects of the storyline lost touch with reality.

First off, the character "Teacher" was unnecessary. He contributed nothing meaningful to the plot. The whole fight between Teacher and Oboz felt forced, especially Efe’s involvement. Efe had no connection to Teacher, yet the script tried to insert him into a conflict that wasn’t his. That angle was weak.

Secondly, Efe was portrayed as a tech expert and developer, yet he came off as dull. How can someone with the skills to build such a powerful app be that broke and clueless? No real life developer with that level of innovation would still be that hungry and wrecked.

Thirdly, Oboz didn’t embody the traits of a real mafia boss. He bragged too much, talked loosely, and chased women without class. True underworld leaders move in silence, protect their presence, and don’t get disrespected by women like Amanda in front of their boys.

Letting Efe into the inner circle without proper initiation (vetting) only confirmed how unserious Oboz was. Efe asking Oboz, who owned the structure, for 50% just so he could sit back and collect money was peak greed and entitlement. That was an obvious red flag that Oboz was too blind to see, simply because he himself is an idiot.

Efe’s wife, Nosa, in my opinion, did nothing wrong. Yes, she messed up and lost herself when the illegal money finally came, but she wasn’t the problem, Efe was. He lacked principles and backbone. A woman cannot push a man of integrity into crime. And let’s be honest, 90% of women would do exactly what Nosa did if they saw that opportunity. Her reaction was predictable; Efe’s weakness was the real problem.

Lest I forget, they didn’t condemn the crime in the movie, they ended it like it was just another way to make it. That kind of ending sends a subtle message that crime is a normal or valid route to wealth. And honestly, as much as that’s a flawed message, it also reflects reality. Many of the richest people in the world today didn't exactly take the clean path to success. Still, a film with this kind of reach should’ve done more to spark reflection, not validation.

So while To Kill a Monkey was a great production, the character arcs and certain plot decisions needed more realism and depth. These small flaws kept it from being a truly unforgettable masterpiece.

If I should rate the movie, I would say 7/10, not because it wasn't entertaining, but because certain parts lacked depth, realism, and proper character development.

Oga, if you watched the movie with an open mind, I bet you won't type the bolded or I could say you were just looking for something to criticize.

The movie is great... with minimal faults than you tried to highlight. tongue

What do you call Oboz dying young and sudden, or Efe losing all within space of 5 years and jailed at the end...
PoliticsRe: Northern Leaders Should Call Atiku Abubakar To Order Before It's Too Late by ruzell86: 12:01pm On Aug 03, 2025
WizardOfNG:
Keep talking irresponsibly without realising OP is 100% correct. Was GEJ utilising the legitimate turn ofnthe South or did he inherit the turn of the North, Courtesy of the death of Yar Adua, that OBJ had honourably facilitated by ensuring a Northerner replaced him?

After 5 years in power and wanting to make it 9 in toal, on the slot the North, no one should move against the selfish GEJ many supported to spend that five years in power so that he would step down for the North in the interest of what is best for the peace and unity of Nigeria?

The selfish action of one or a few individual has changed history horrendously and negatively for million throughout the ages.

Ask Hitler, Ojukwu, Kaduna Nzeogwu etal the horrendous impact of their actions on Germans and Igbos for a lenghtily enduring period of time.

When the worst happens in future then people like you should own up to accept the side of affairs you stood on.

The Yorubas won't accept to remain, bowed or cowered, in a nation where they played their part, under OBJ and then Tinubu's ACN coalition with the North, to deliver for the North when it was their turn to lead.

Once the treacherous precedence has been set that only the North can lead, Fulanis precisely, because they have decides to abandon honour and equitable conduct, as Atiku is attempting then the Yoruba will quit being the reasonable peacemakers they have always been to be constant agitators for their own autonomy whether as region or as a separate nation.

This is 2025 and an information age where it will be horrible for Nigeria to be held capable under tw retrogressive rule of Northerners perpetually and unrelentingly

The North should support a Southern candidate against Tinubu if issues for them is genuinely about poor performance from the current government because such cannot be an excuse for them to hijack power from the South when such was never attempted against them under the disastrous and very damaging rule of Buhari.
Oga, no one is hijacking or grabbing power here... everyone has a right to contest, and let the best schemer win.
GEJ had only one term to himself as a Southerner, yet was ousted by same Southerners scheming with the North.

To be fair, so long the Easterners haven't been granted the autonomy they seek, no other region has the right to request such.

We are all in this together until we seek the path of truth.
