lol, from what you wrote here, it simply means you don't have full knowledge on how it works. Application for purchase is different from documentation here. The issue here is documentation not Payment for the land. For Government to grant any right at all on a land, you have been offered and offered accepted and other procedures take place before getting to the stage temporary right of Occupancy and then to apply and get statutory right of Occupancy. What we are saying is that, when someone has statutory right of occupation, minister has no right to revoke it for non payment of ground rent that is annual payment. I may not respond to you anymore as people that took a particular position don't change their mind. From what you posted here, they were granted statutory R of O. That's the main thing. Every R of O has a condition to pay ground rent. I'm very sure you haven't seen any R of O before. I'm also sure you're from Southwest so you may not know. Most past ministers of FCT did similar thing wike is doing but after their tenure, those lands will be returned to the original owners. So rest, don't waste your time

How on earth could they have been issued a Permanent Right of Occupancy? Please get your facts right.

bro as I said, every Right of Occupation comes with the condition of annual payment of ground rent. When you failed, Government will charge you for penal rent not revocation. You will understand it more if you have land in Abuja, I have land in Abuja. Even Lere Olayinka confirmed this fact of then granted Statutory right of O so that alone stood as fact. R of o/c of o are the same. Just like governor's consent and c of o are the same in lagos. Ground rent in Abuja, landuse charge in lagos are the same.

you got those documents from Lere who happened to be media aid to Wike. Copy Lere explanation here. You simply gave half information. Here is the simple explanation. For 36 years, they have Temporary R of O. In 2020, they applied for Statutory R of O which they were granted in 2023 which made then owner of it Statutory. They were to pay ground rent from 2020 which amount to 40m plus, they paid 10m already. So wike has no right to revoke any land because of no payment of ground rent. When someone fail in payment of ground rent, you charge him for penal rent and if fail, you charge him to court so court can force him to pay. Revocation can only happen when it's over riding public interest. He revoke and reallocated to himself or friend that is abuse of power. Have you ever heard in lagos that government revoke plot because of annual landuse charge? Please stop supporting injustice.
