There was no need for Jesus to call himself Christian or say he is practising Christianity. Those words were coined right after he left the earth and ascended to heaven. It was the Romans that coined those names to describe Christians, followers of Jesus Christ.
Since the we became known by the name and we are fine by the Christian name. If Jesus were to come today, he will still identify with us as Christian followers of his word.

The same Apostle Peter who denied Christ earlier was crucified upside down by King Nero of Rome for refusing to deny Christ the second time.

Secondly, Lies and deceit is Sin! Deceit is in any form, circumstances, situation, context is Sin. It doesn't matter if it is to your friend, loved one or enemy. Lying and deceit is Sin and true followers of Christ are forbidden to lie even to enemies. Lying to enemies is as Sinful as Lying to a loved one! This why Leah did what she did. She refused to lie by pretending to renounce Christ in order to save herself from her enemies.
So if you're of the opinion that Leah should have lied, pretend or use deceit to save herself from her captors, then she would have committed a terrible Sin that would have cost her eternal life with Christ.

Op, there are other ways Leah sharibu would have done it and set herself free from captivity and still remain a christian which would have been wiser than her inspiring christians who are observing the situation at the expense of her freedom and liberty.

Denying Islam in the presence of her captors who want her to change her faith to Islam for her freedom is not necessary.

A cease fire or truce agreement is only temporary primarily used to guarantee the safety of hostages. It normally comes with a time frame, what should bother you in this revelation is the fact that such agreements oppourtunes the insurgents to regroup and rearm for future hostilities. Reason Russia has negated all cease fire deals in Syria.

I think your problem is comprehension. If there was cease fire btw bokoharam and the gov't or military, such is expected to be respected . But if one party decides not to respect the terms, then that calls for renegotiation of the terms. Boko haram did not respect the cease fire agreement, they used the opportunity to kidnap the children. Having done that , the agreement has been broken.....to return those kids require fresh assurance that nothing will happen to them. As far as this matter is concerning boko haram is holding us at the scrotum. Any mistake they could cause harm to it.
