The greatest difficulty in farming to man is to supply a sufficient quality of planting material i.e plantlet suckers. The other conventional categories are: to source from existing plantation and family compounds which are unhealthy to good agricultural practices.
Today, the science of macro propagation has been fully developed for many species in the growing countries in Europe, North America and Asia. While these countries are now deriving a great economic benefits (in macro propagation planting material exports) and increased the yields of their peoples plantations, Nigeria is still behind in this regard. Only a few smart agripreneurs are into the production of plantlet suckers in Nigeria, however this is not enough to meet the high demands of the healthy planting materials oriented public. There is a lot of demand for plantlet suckers in Nigeria due to the continuous increase in harvest yields.
