Thank you so much. I am really planning towards that. Mental health is so important. Even though we feel we can survive everything as Africans, I think we need more people in this field.

Folks who went to school to go study counselling psychology at different levels(Bachelors, Masters, Doctorate) knows that mental health is a delicate matter and is unethical to provide service without certification as the practice is not just about natural flair. I know these because I have friends who are practicing therapists with the required training and operating licenses and I also do know they always draw contracts with every client they work with and clients have it signed as it is a legal requirement. They keep records of their sessions and the psychological assessments the clients have taken, which they (therapists) present during their supervision(which is a requirement for every practicing therapists).

Did you go through your 15 hours or more of Personal therapy before you began offering this service? Can you administer a Suicide Index Score or Depression Inventory and score it? Which is a standard for working with clients dealing with depression. If you get to work with someone who was depressed and finally committed suicide, the police would trace that person's interaction to you to ascertain your input and verify if you had professionally referred the person to a psychiatrist if our system has been functional. Suicide is a crime in Nigeria.

Giving advice is different from counselling, If you already have your first degree, then I advise you look into Universities that offers Masters in Counselling psychology.

This right here is what I am talking about. So much fury and hatred. How many of the food vendors on the street do you see with a certificate in catering, business admin etc?

I am not disputing the fact that this is necessary but the hatred with which you commented is so obvious.

I wonder why you are so pained at my post, but people like you will readily park by the road to buy fruit and other things from business people who do not have a certificate in what there are doing.

But I only spread love. I avoid every form of negativity, and bad vibes from people who get so pained about another s progress without any real reason.
