Police Parade Kwara Ritual Killers, Body Parts Traders

Consequent on several complaints received at the ‘D’ Divisional Police Headquarters, Adewole, Ilorin Kwara State on cases of missing persons, kidnapping, murder, killings for rituals, and exhuming of dead bodies from where buried, removing of human skull and other human parts of their victims; the Inspector General of Police on receipt of the Situation Report from the Kwara State Police Command immediately directed the IGP Monitoring Unit to proceed to Kwara State and assist the Kwara State Police Command in their investigation of the matter, arrest perpetrators to bring them to justice.

2. The Police Joint Investigation Team on arrival to Ilorin, Kwara State on the 5th of October, 2018 assisted by the personnel of ‘D’ Divisional Police Headquarters, Adewole, Kwara Police Command, working on actionable intelligence from public spirited individuals in the area, swung into action, obtained search warrant and moved into the house of one Azeez Yakub of No. 20 Ile Opa Adeta Compound, Ilorin. During the search Eleven (11) Human Skulls, some pieces of human bones, human hairs, and powder suspected to be grinded human bones and charms were recovered in the house.

3. Further investigations by the Special Team of the IGP Monitoring Unit led to the arrest of Seven (7) other suspects, Azeez Yakub, Abdulrasaq Babamale, Aishat Yunisa, Lukman Saka, Ahmed Yahaya, Abdulfatai Kadri a.k.a (Adedoyin) – Vigilante Commander, Adeta Zone, Ilorin, Soliu Ayinde a.k.a Baba Fawasi, Abdulganiyu Bamidele.

4. The suspects involve in kidnapping, murder, ritual killings, exhuming of dead bodies from where buried in the community, removing their vital body parts such as the skull, genital organs, eyes, human hair, certain body bones and sell to prominent personalities in the country for rituals and spiritual powers. The suspects confessed and admitted to have sold Thirty One (31) human heads to some personalities in Ilorin and other towns in Kwara State and other contiguous states to Kwara State

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has arrested lsmail Saliu, 25, for allegedly conspiring with a herbalist and one other, to slaughter his brother.

The NSCDC Command Spokesperson in Kwara, Babawale Afolabi, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, in Ilorin.

The Spokesperson said that the incident happened on September 13, in Kosubosu, Baruten Local Government Area (LGA), of Kwara.

“On September 13, operatives of the NSCDC in Kosubosu Divisional Office, got a distress call from a neighbourhood about suspicious movement of certain individuals in the area.

“Some officers from the divisional office, with operatives of the Anti-Vandal patrol team in the area, swung into action and subsequently arrested a herbalist Ahmed Nkwe 44, lsmail Saliu 25 and Saliu Ahmed 30,” Mr Afolabi said.

The victim, a young girl identified as Rianat Yusuf of Amuyo area of Offa had told her parents last week Tuesday that she wanted to go and buy “Kulikuli” with which to drink “Gaari” but never returned home.

A middle-aged woman has been arrested at Kulende area of Ilorin by members of the community over the alleged ritual killing.

Speaking with Newsmen on the development of a resident Kulende community in Zango area of Ilorin, Mr Kudus said the suspect is currently being held at the state Criminal Investigations Department,(CID), Kwara State Police Headquarters for further investigations.

According to him, the woman who pretended to have had mental health issues has been living in a shanty on the roadside for about three years.

He alleged that members of the community became suspicious of the activities of the woman when she was sighted giving some items suspected to be human parts to a Motorist in a Jeep vehicle that parked near her in the middle of the night.

Mr Kudus explained that when members of vigilantes in the community tried to find out what she was giving the jeep driver, the occupants zoomed off.

He noted that when the community leaders searched her things it contained, a large sum of money, a knife, a bottle water container with fresh blood, as well as a complete children’s school uniform, bag, shoes and books were found.

Confirming the incident the Kwara State Police Command spokesman SP Okasanmi Ajayi said in a statement that the suspected ritualist, who appears to be mentally unbalanced, was arrested with a total of one hundred and sixty-six thousand and seven hundred naira (#166,700:00).

The statement said the suspect noted that the man met with her as at the time of the arrest came to have intercourse with her and give her water.

Kwara State Police command says it has apprehended some suspected ritualists whose stock in trade is buying, trading and trafficking in human body parts.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Okasanmi Ajayi, in Ilorin on Friday, said that the eagle-eyed operatives attached to the state Police command nabbed the suspects, who he said couriered a human skull from Lagos State into the Ilorin metropolis.
