Some Samsung phones have initramfs recovery, meaning recovery is actually packaged inside a kernel image.


The boot.img is in the zImage.

Flashing the phone is not an option for me for now. Instead I will wait for new system update.

You're welcome but official update is not an option for you if you have rooted the phone except that you Unroot it before the upgrade.

Meanwhile, to boot the phone to recovery, folow this steps;
1- Switch off the phone.
2- Press and hold down both the Volume-up and Power buttons together until the phone comes up.

The screen that comes up is your recovery. From there, you will see;
Data Wipe/ Factory Reset
Wipe Cache etc

Simply select Wipe Cache and confirm it. Reboot your phone when it's completed.
That should correct it.

The trick is to disable the apps, not uninstall them.

ONLY rare ocasions, the infected apps remain silent when disabled. It is safer to flash them than to disable them.
There was case a client reported to me. He didn't want to flash the phone because of his BBM Chat history until eventually, the phone began downloading some apps, installed them itself and eventually, the phone went off and never came on until I flashed it for him.

The phone in concern was Tecno H6.

Maybe in MTK devices where the kernel sources are closed sourced.
The recovery contains its own Linux kernel, separate from the kernel of the main Android system.
If you flash a custom ROM you overwrite the kernel, unless the ROM doesn't come with a kernel in the first place.
All CM and most AOSP based ROMs come with their own recovery which overwrites the existing after reboot.
The few time a ROM doesn't overwrite the existing recovery is perhaps if it's stock based, and you might have to flash via Odin, or if it doesn't come with its own kernel.
I'm talking about Samsung devices.

Even Custom ROM for Samsung devices do not come with Custom Recovery. Maybe you are mistaken boot.img with the recovery.img.

It is the boot.img that when flashed, overwrites the kernel.

My problem, I rooted an old Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2012 WiFi edition and flashed bliss pop custom rom lolipop on it, unfortunately to charge this tablet now is an absolute pain. On stock, I will usually plug it in at midnight, and by am battery is 100%, but on this rom it can take anything up to 13hours plus. And this is just 7000mah. The main issue now is the battery indicator is stuck on 4% and it won't go any further.. I have downloaded the stock OS from sammobile but I don't have enough charge to even boot up.. My daughter wan kill me, na where she dey watch her cartoons on YouTube.. Any solutions please?

pls, i have a bricked lenovo tab 2 A7-30HC, it got bricked while i was tryin to do an ota update, though i rooted it before bt i did a factory reset before doin d update. Now d tab is stuck on recovery, wit a dead green andriod robot wit 'no command' in d background, i have not gotten d stock rom, d qustion is, can i flash a custom recovry n subseqently flash a costom rom or i must flash d stock rom first be4 d custom rom. Try booting the tab to recovery using this method here: How to Boot Bricked MTK Android to Recovery Using MTK Droid Tools and then, you can flash your Custom ROM from there.

The custom ROM might come with its own recovery which would overwrite the recovery you flashed.
But you need a custom recovery to flash a ROM, so go ahead with the recovery, then flash the ROM.
Google is your friend for the stock ROM, check the XDA forums if there's a niche for your device.

Custom ROM does not come with custom recovery. Since Custom ROM are being flashed from recovery level rather than Pre-loader or Boot-loader level, so, overwriting the recovery is not possible with Custom ROM.

Do you have Custom Recovery on the phone? If yes, boot the phone to recovery to format the catche from there. -that's the safest solution. Otherwise, you may have to flash the phone.

You need root access to remove , or you may flash your phone (sometimes it doesn't leave after flashing.)
Rooting is your best bet.
You can unrooted after removing the malware.
Google is your friend on how to root your phone.

Even with root access, such problems are not resolvable. I had that experience with an LG android. I had to flash it to sove the issues.

Similarly, several other Tecno and Infinix were solved by flashing.

That's not conclusive. Watch for a while before you conclude. It could be network problem.

No app will root it. You need to first flash custom recovery on it then, flash SU.zip via the recovery.

Hello bro, have got an infinix hot note..after it got bricked, I unbricked it by flashing the stuck rom to the phone with cwm recovery.. Now my phone no longer charges..it just shows the charging icon but for 1hour its still on 24%, even when I switch it off it just shows the lightning bolt icon and offs.. Re-flash the kernel separately.

That's not possible except that if the phone is on, has location services set to "On" and that, it has active internet connection.

The problem is from the codec. Pity that I don't know much about the hardware of the tab, I would have suggested the right codec for you. However, when you check the settings >> about section of the phone, do you see anything like ARM-v7?

If yes, download DivX Codec for it.
