kettykin: Ondo state became an oil producing state through rogue boundary adjustment perpetrated during the regime of olusegun obasanjo. Niger delta should continue to play dumbness and stupidity. The same obasanjo wanted to take gas from brass to OK lng until Jonathan miraculously stepped in to power. This is the real reason why yorubas never forgave Jonathan. go back to check your records Ondo state has been oil producing state since 1992 |

Politics › Re: Why I Dumped PDP For APC — Ali Olanusi, Ondo Deputy Governor by saintdareok(m): 4:29pm On Mar 26, 2015 |
Rilwayn001: The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Ali Olanusi, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party Thursday morning, has given reason for his action.
In a statement Thursday afternoon, Mr. Olanusi said he decided to join the All Progressives Congress after realising that the party offers a platform where he can find justice, fairness and equity.
He said, “While still being in place as the democratically elected Deputy Governor of Ondo State, I have decided to lead my teeming supporters and well wishers in the state into the All Progressive Congress (APC) where we can find justice, fairness, equity and democratic liberty, a party to which majority of our kith and kins in Yorubaland belongs.
“I have taken this decision at this critical time, in the best interest of peace, stability and good governance of our dear state and for the overall development of the South West and the nation.”
“They (his followers) have watched helplessly in the last six years years the untold marginalisation and total exclusion from the government they laboured to put in place.”
In his response to the development, the Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade, said, “The state government just received the news of the defection of Alhaji Ali Olanusi, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, to the All Progressives Congress.
“Though it came as a surprise, government acknowledge his right to determine his political affiliation and wish him well.”
Mr. Olanusi is said to have had a frosty relationship with Governor Olusegun Mimiko for sometime.
He ran with Mr. Mimiko on the platform of the Labour Party in 2007, becoming deputy governor in 2009 after the Court of Appeal declared Mr. Mimiko winner of the disputed 2007 governorship election in the state.
He ran again with Mr. Mimiko on the platform of the same party in 2014.
In October 2014, the governor and his deputy defected to the PDP.
Mr. Olanusi’s defection came less than a week after the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Tele Ikuru, left the APC for the PDP.

Politics › Re: Jonathan Compromised Presidential Debate, He Used 'Expo' – Buhari Campaign Team by saintdareok(m): 11:08am On Mar 23, 2015 |
Maple: The graft allegation against the Nigeria Election Debate Group (NEDG) has vindicated the All Progressives Congress' stance that the debate was compromised by President Goodluck Jonathan, the Muhammadu Buhari campaign organisation has said. The opposition campaign media and publicity director Malam Garba Shehu said the sordid details coming out of organizations of the debate would have tainted the APC candidate had he presented himself to the group.
A civil society group, Value and Integrity Group alleged at a press conference on Friday, that a First Bank account opened for the NEDG had the founder of a private television network as sole signatory, even though he is not listed as one of the directors of the NEDG. According to leaders of the Value and Integrity Group, Sina Odugbemi and Popoola Ajayi, co-ordinator and secretary respectively, “an initial deposit of N1 million was paid into the said First Bank account, and on March 28, 2011, another N20 million belonging to the NEDG was paid into the personal account of the said founder of the leading private television network.”
The Buhari campaign said “We at the APC Presidential Campaign got the eye-opening news of the press conference by the Value and Integrity Group accusing the Nigeria Election Debate Group, the crux of the allegation being that some members of the NEDG have been monetarily influenced.”It added that “although the group failed to mention from what source the monies came from, we had taken a position, based on intelligence made available to us that the PDP has compromised the integrity of an unnamed few in the NEDG with huge and ridiculous sums of money.”
“And watching President Goodluck Jonathan reading from a prepared script gleefully as he answered questions in the debate confirmed our suspicion that there will be “EXPO”. “These two scenarios: The allegation of corrupt inducements in the NEDG and the president reading from a prepared script during the debate validates our reasons for abstaining from the debate,” Shehu said.
