Anyone who pays tuition fees for the bold needs to have his/her brain examined. The introduction was for MSc courses.

To me, it is not bad provided it is a STEM course, especially the one Eastern Europeans are good at (hardcore maths and physics). Whether a country is good depends on the person and priorities.

Okay, Thank you very much.

Poland is not bad, both as an EU member, strength of passport or economy. However, the ease of being issued the visa presently as a Nigerian is what my post is interested in. See the thread on Nairaland: https://www.nairaland.com/2272115/polish-student-visa/564

At a point last year, people were lamenting that they could not get visa appointments or even their relatives could not get issued a visa to attend their graduate ceremonies. As for Norway, ever since the tuition-free system was cancelled, it is a no-go zone as that country is prohibitely expensive.

Okay Sir, I get your point based on current trend about Poland Visa issuance, regardless one can still give it a try.

For unsuspecting readers, before you begin your japa plans. read through the threads of your interested countries and ask hard questions to know how it is to obtain a student visa, jobs and study there. It is extremely important. This would guide your way through. I was admitted into the University of Tartu, Estonia and with a scholarship, but declined the offer as there was no embassy in Nigeria, and applications had to be made from either Egypt or the UAE (the closest). From the Estonian thread, the total cost was a million naira (before COVID) to travel there and apply for the visa. I declined because the chances of being issued the visa to either Egypt or the UAE (tourist visa o) were low. Rather than spend such, I paid 150K as application fee to apply to another Japanese university.

In summary, Poland is unrealistic as there is almost a zero chance of being issued a student's visa. Polish universities now steer clear from Nigerian students because almost none of the accepted students gets issued a visa.

You May not be entirely correct about Poland, My very close friend of mind we graduated together went to Poland to study masters in Renewable Energy, so how did he manage to get his Visa, my own younger brother is about to move to Maritime University of Sczcezin, Poland from American University of Moldova to study Marine Engineering.
My friend who went to Poland told me his experience and it's manageable, cost of living is cheap, jobs available for students as well.
It all depends on how you look at it and your believe, like me i'm applying to Maritime University at Constanta, Romania this April for an MSc degree in Offshore Oil and Gas Technology it comes with affordable tuition fees of €5600 for an IntL student like me, €280 monthly for 20months(approx. 2yrs duration) alternatively Subsea Technology at Norwegian University of Science and Technology at Trondheim but their tuition fees is not clear to me as their Government have scrapped the free tuition fees in their public schools.

Romania might not be a fantastic country to some people in some aspects or may be due to the fact that they're also yet to join Schengen Zone for easy movement across Europe until 31st March, 2024 when they will partially join, but it is a stepping stone for me to access or migrate to other part of the world.

I was only trying to suggest how one can look at a cheaper alternative way of acquiring education abroad or Japa via student route, I think with a good and experienced EduTravel Agent, it will be much easier to get to any school of your choice as long as you can afford their services.

Your opinion is noted though.

Thank you Gerrard59, your contributions on this website are very very insightful always. Yes, the eventual goal is to get citizenship. And it’s scary looking at the tuition fee charged by my school. No one will give me such kind of money. The National interest waiver option is one ive been looking at for a long time since I actually have a masters degree. However, I discouraged myself because I thought one cannot file outside of the US, but now I know better.

I’m looking at relatively cheap schools in Western Europe countries like Germany etc. My potentials are getting wasted and time is going Gerrrard, yeah time is going
.

Check schools in Poland quite close to Germany, tuition fees is cheap there and jobs available for students to cater for their needs, seek for Schengen Visa for the travelling, that will enable you tour schengen countries in Europe for better opportunities, or you reason Canada.

Cheap schools are in Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway are worthy mention and all are Schengen Countries.

You don't get it. Lol
Not all Nigerians can speak English properly, and even if they can, they may not be as good as native speakers. The IELTS exam is made to test your ability to use English in different situations and it's well-known all over the world.

It's not just about grammar and vocabulary, but also about communication skills, and so on.
And yes, the UK schools do want this to let you in, especially for international students.

The PTE Academic you're on about is just another English language test that some UK places take, but it's not as popular as the IELTS, and it may have different ways of doing things and scoring you. Other places that don't ask for any English test may be rubbish or dodgy, and they may not give you the same chances or perks as the ones that do.

The goal is not just to japa like you lot say, but to do it well. If you want to have a cracking and rewarding time abroad, you need to have a decent grasp of English. Lol.
.

Yeah, I understand your point, it's now left for those Nigerians that can't communicate well in English Language, it's not my fault, its not your fault either, I think there should be ways these international schools pick their prospective students in a cost-effective manner, paying over 200K for English language test is outrageous, Visa, Tuition fees, flight ticket, accommodation, upkeep, etc.

but you can't say for sure about other places may be rubbish cos they don't ask for English Test, they also offer too-notch, qualitative education better than Nigerian Universities, a good student can as well go there and make good grades for him or her self and still compete favourably with their UK, US, Canada or Australia counter-part.

No laff o! this will further drive prospective international students away from thwase exams, Schools in Eastern Europe and some Schengen Countries do not need these English Test Exams.

What's the need for all this English test when we all are English-speaking country? UK schools do not need this to gain admission.

Time to check for alternative test like PTE or schools that do not require any of these, after all the aim is to japa.

ok as long as the people there are hospitable, that is the most important thing, everything no be money. I just discovered that money alone is boring

They are hospitable with nice apartments in major cities and towns, check Expat in Romania facebook group. I follow them.
The capital of Romania, Bucharest is describe as Paris of Eastern Europe. for IT savvy personalities then Cluj Napoca will be ok, for Marine activities then Port City of Constanta is cool.

Other major cities are Timisoara, Lasi, Brasov, etc
Their cheap tuition fees is what attract me to the country.

EveryEvery posted on Facebook saying that it is the Indian-Romanians are the ones projecting bad image of Romania as poor country, or poor people cos they engage in begging instead of working to earn a living.

I noticed their women marry early and they value relationships, most of them I see on Facebook flaunt their kids, spouses, boyfriends on their profile so you can easily know that they are in one form of relationship or the other.

Going there for Studies and nothing more, I can only hustle to foot some of my bills while I watch out for my next destination after studies, it's easy to migrate from Romania to US, UK, Australia, Canada or other European Union Countries than to move from Nigeria, though they are yet to join Schengen Zone and they're working on it to do so.
