Goodly1:

It depends on the job you're looking for. If it's nursing - IELTS first, CBT second, then apply for nursing jobs. If it's care assistant, you may need to do some care related online courses & then apply for jobs online, IELTS can be done much later when needed for your visa. However, care jobs are no longer easy to get on merit as an overseas candidate - I believe you must have heard how people run it street-wise.🤐
If it's any other job, you may have to google the process for working in such professions in the UK before applying.
It's carejob ooo how can I get InTouch with you to discuss the street wise

hunterezi:
Good day Nairaland Family.

I want to make this post as short as possible.

So, I had a baby with a girl in 2018 in my final year in school and I've been trying my best to keep her and the baby. (I created a post here then too).

Fast forward to last year I went for NYSC in Gombe and she got admission into the university. I returned for holiday last December, checked my girl's phone and saw that she has been seeing another guy in the school. The messages I saw broke me ehn despite all I do to please this girl still I forgave her (I was thinking it was cos of the distance that's making her see another guy). She promised to leave the guy bla bla..

When I left for Gombe, I noticed she has gone back to the said guy again. I confronted her and she said a lot of things to me. Bad things. I was perplexed knan. I never believed this girl can do and say such things. She outrightly told me that ive not married her and she can see any guy! She blocked me on WhatsApp.

Ever since then I've been sending upkeep to her mum who is taking care of the baby.

When I returned, I tried to make things up again cos I don't want to be having children with different women. But she declined and now her parents are supporting her.

Still, I do send upkeep. I've never missed a month. The thing is I'm sincerely tired of everything. I want to leave them with the child and not do anything with them again

When I get a job and be comfortable again, I might return cos they're milking the little I saved and its affecting me.

What do you think I do?

PS: She is still with same guy

Guy I know how you feel my candid advice to you is to focus your energy on doubling your income so your child does not suffer forget about your baby mama women are loyal only to their feelings not your sacrifice you've served a purpose of giving her a child it's up to you to give your child the best . your main focus should be on giving your child the very best and giving yourself the best like you said you still dey serve now is the time to put in the work double your hustle do your part and don't ignore your child but ignore your baby mama move forward from her it will get better for you it you put in the work and lastly pray and pray for your child and you
ps find someone to help you keep a close eye on your child in times you're not around and don't let anyone take responsibility of your child
remember women are loyal to their feelings they don't think logically
God will see you through amen
if you can do a DNA test to as certain you're the father ( it's for peace of mind)

Career / Re: Nairalanders My Ghetto Brother Wants A New Life by salawustyles(m): 3:25pm On May 25, 2022
Ugaboy:
Hi Nairalander, You don't know how happy I am right now... after hearing a strong confession from my Lil cousin.

We both grew up in Ghetto area at Itire SURULERE, the environment is a off for any developing kid.

Thanks to my parents who took me out after primary education from the LGA.

Last time I visited, he is into drugs, smoking, touting, street fight and jobless.
We only exchange greetings and no
healthy conversation between us.

Recently, he has been calling to keep in touch with me and more.

Today, I called him just to check on a lust brother, the conversation was interesting.
He started telling how guys are catching out in YAHOO (to me this is not the conversation I want, so I played along, to keep cool chat).

After some minutes, he told me he regreted all the wasted opportunity and times he had to become someone. He is 24 years now

...he is a secondary school drop out, his parents push him to learn skill (Spraying Vehicle & Machines) under 2 months he quit, I found job for him, he quit same week...he prefers street money, he is also known as street money and sort of names to justify street life.

Personal I never care to advise him, I kept my cool and mind my business...afterall his elder brother is not different from him.

...back to the conversation, he told me he really wants to return to school, that life is really hard and tough, he said he is a change person now and more.

I need advice from you N'Lers...
should I advise him of acquiring a SKILL(not I.T pls) or SCHOOLING ( I will save money to pay his waec from my end next year)

If skill, pls what kind of good paying SKILL can I suggest for him?...I don't want barbing or vulcanizing or low income SKILL.

test him
if you can get a job any paying job for him ask him to keep the job till his waec time then help him also as he's working he can get a skill but working is important so as to give him a sense of purpose ( cos I to was on the street if not for the job I got I would have gone back) so if he can keep a job he is ready
Travel / Re: Please, I Need An Urgent Advice On Relocating To UK by salawustyles(m): 7:45am On May 25, 2022
Classicalife:
Please note; I'm using this new account to hide my identity.

This thread forced me to seek for an advice here; https://www.nairaland.com/7141606/should-leave-job-japa-uk

Let me establish some facts (Not a show-off please):
1. I have a wife and 2 kids (Married).
2. I am a freelancer, I'm also working online with an American startup firm (they gave me the liberty to continue with my freelancing).
3. I make from N600k upward on a monthly basis. I made 1M in April.
4. I just acquired a landed property (No land grabber issue).

To start with, my elder brother is in the UK, he advised/invited me to come to the UK with my family using the student route. Meanwhile, he is not aware of my achievements here in Nigeria and he doesn't know where I'm currently working. He assumed I'm still working in my previous place of work (I didn't tell him either).

Personally, I don't like to be a liability nor a burden to anyone and I like to be independent. I know being a postgraduate student in the UK comes with some rules/restrictions such as the number of hours I could work during the programme (perhaps 20hrs max; I'm currently on 35hrs/week with the US firm hoping to increase it to 40hrs).

Now, this is where I need a very honest advice from the good people of Nairaland. Should I go to the UK or stay back in Nigeria with my family?

Thank you so much for your time and advice.

@lalasticlala @Seun Any advice please?
who it be possible to relocate your wife and kids first

Help! I am about to finish my 300L stage in one of Nigeria state polytechnics but I am losing many opportunities due to my inability to speak fluently in English language. Although, I am good in typing/writing and I can compose my self in good English in my brain but it is very difficult whenever I open my mouth.
Any suggestion for improvement are welcome.
Thanks Nairalanders.
start reading books and anytime you come across new words check your dictionary for the meaning and practice using the new words in sentences and also when reading sometimes read out loud so you can hear yourself speak you would get better it's all about time and confidence

the difference is in handling for example if you're a movie fan, you would see the difference when you watch fast and furious just notice the car Dom drives and the car Brian drives then you should be able to have an idea of what each car does better Dom prefers muscle car and Brian prefers race cars and sporty car
