The last is yet to be heard over the gale of defections in Kebbi state as up to 2900 members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) over the weekend defected to All Progressives Congress (APC) in Shanga local government area of the state.

The ceremony that took place in Shanga, the headquaters of shanga local government area had the attendance all APC stakeholders in the state and where registration cards of the defectors were issued to them in comformity with APC constitution.

The leader of the decampees Alhaji Yakubu Dala Shanga who was before his defection the Shanga local government PDP Chairman, announced his defection alongside his entire executive members accross the 10 wards.

He told the mammoith gathering that “I contributed emmensely in building the PDP right from inception in 1999, but today honestly, I have to tell you that I’m left with no option than to dumped the party for lack of justice, equity, fairness and wisdom.”

According to him, the party, especially in kebbi state is a sinking ship that would take nobody anywhere.

He also alleged that the party has been stage-managed by some individuals who don’t mean well for it’s success considering the fact that 2023 general elections draw nearer.

Receiving the decampees, an APC chieftain and personal assistant to Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, Alhaji Faruku Musa Yaro Enabo (Jagaban Gwandu), welcomed the new members and assured them of fairness, justice and equity.

“In APC we treat everybody equal. To us you that came in today are same with those that have been with us, we give everybody equal treatments,” he said.

Enabo further predicted the party’s success in the forthcoming 2023 general elections and urged members to work assiduously towards the success of each and every candidate fielded vying for an elective position.

South South is for PDP.
