I would like to try vegetable farming during the dry season. Problem is, I have this 1 hectare (2.5 acres) unused land which is not close to a water source. I am wondering whether to dig a borehole + get two 6,000 litre tanks, a water pump, hose and then 2 rain guns. Is this a workable arrangement? I've got a 10KVA diesel gen which can do the business of pumping water out of the borehole.

I am hoping to have fenced the place before I start because of these rampaging cows and their herdsmen.
