Sorry, someone asked me this; he lost his WAEC result print out of 2013. He wants to re-print— still has the card he used back then, the question is the card's validity. He used the card once out of five attempts. Does he have to buy another card or use that of 2013??

This is not the zoo where you combine results or you seek For alternates...If the Requirements says Waec, Then it would be Waec...Neco would'nt suffice....So are u planning to study abroad?

A friend, though I'll also like to. So you're saying it's either waec or nothing? Donpre raised something about SATS, TOEFL
Education / Re: 2017 JAMB Change Of Course/Institution Thread by SamanN: 9:27am On Jul 04, 2017
chukwukapromise:
Exactly..School abroad recognize Waec not neco.

In a scenario where someone wants to study abroad but doesn't get credit in his/her core subjects? He has his NECO though..
Education / Re: 2017 JAMB Change Of Course/Institution Thread by SamanN: 7:58am On Jul 04, 2017
Donpre:

I believe sitting for all should be best but I can't confirm the minimum required subjects you should sit for. However I believe 7 is the minimum you should register for

As for NECO, It should be accepted, as long as your country endorses it as a certificate for finishing high school. So unless you can find proof of neco result being rejected abroad, I implore you disregard such info.
However WAEC is more widely known and accepted especially in all West African countries. I would advise you have a waec result just in case

Most countries however insist that you take their own O'level cert. E.g Gmat, SAT, TOEFL etc.

I would however do a little research on this tho and get back to you

Is WAEC only accepted in West Africa or all over the world? I used to think some countries in Europe accept it. Someone once told me about TOEFL

Since I mentioned it, I believe I should also clear up any misinformation.

O'level DO NOT EXPIRE and I did not insinuate such. However some(very few) schools require a recent O'level result. I don't know if it still holds true up till now but I've heard it somewhere hence why I mentioned it.

Anyway, this links are proof to validate that I HAVE SEEN SUCH, not necessarily making it true or that it'll apply to your school of choice

I'll check out those links. However, i came across a post on this thread, it person said schools like uniilorin don't accept o'level result beyond 5 years.

Where is our realistic fellow?...Dude SamanN,...it good to hear about your tutorial, It i'll do you great good...

In olevel exams, The maximum subject entry is 9 while the minimum is 7 subject..Since it Gce, All those trade subject[animal husbandry, Data processing and d rest.]aint offered.

For Neco, Yes it is country bound...Neco is an Exam body recognized within d boundaries of d Country...Waec and WaecGce Is recignized across west africa thus making a mark among D world's notable High school exams..So Neco i'll take u nowhere..

Realistic fellow, Come say some realiatic things bro.

I used to think schools abroad recognise WAEC..

Thank you i get the point, I'm considering going for a tutorial if possible, i want to Make it once and for all.

What is the minimum sittings in a O'level exam? Apart from the 5 core subjects. I mean can i sit for 6 and leave the rest?
Secondly, i heard about the irrelevance of NECO to country abroad, is it really true?

Donpre:

I think you misunderstood me. What I meant was that if you're taking the GCE, taking it this year would be better cus if you were to take it next year, you'd have to explain in the future to people(employers, embassies, schools etc) why your O'level says 2018 while you gained admission in 2017. hence you'd have to present the old one and the whole affidavit nonsense comes up again.

Also I don't think the GCE would have anything to do with your admissions chances. It's for future purposes remember?

You're very right. I'll try as much as possible to write GCE. Just the math thing dey fear me, i had long forgot it. The practical aspect also.

Education / Re: 2017 JAMB Change Of Course/Institution Thread by SamanN: 4:35pm On Jul 02, 2017
Donpre:

Sure! But You could be tied down with school stuffs next year. Also the year you wrote waec would be further than when you gained admission. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be explaining why all the time

Hmmmmmm! You're right. But what if i do it very late and had to explain to them I did in case of doubt?
Education / Re: 2017 JAMB Change Of Course/Institution Thread by SamanN: 12:43pm On Jul 02, 2017
Donpre:

Exactly, GCE is more of a future plan. The affidavit should be your present plan.

Also, I would advice you rectify your issue(outside the affidavit route) so as to prevent future unpleasant events. Unlike what promise is saying, I've heard of issues of marginalization brought about by incorrect D.O.B and name issue(despite an affidavit being present) in getting jobs. Some countries too would not recognize a Nigerian affidavit, making it impossible to go to, study or work in such countries.

If waec is the only issue, then rewrite and free yourself.

#MyTakeTho

I really appreciate, can i write it next year?. I could as well write it anytime I deem it fit right?
Education / Re: 2017 JAMB Change Of Course/Institution Thread by SamanN: 7:27am On Jul 01, 2017
Donpre:

Just saw this, and I think you should go ahead with it. It's better safe than sorry and it puts your mind at rest

GCE registration is still on BTW

You should of course get the affidavit too as GCE won't be out till year end

But i won't be using awaiting result, so GCE is more like for future. Isn't it?

What is manipulation of slots?
In Nigeria university, These slots, Are usually sold by lecturers who are directly or indirectly involved in admission process. If the total slot for Law is 200students, And there are 5lecturers involved in d screeing process, The Admission board would Divide the slots into two Equal halves..That is 100 on d left, and 100 on the right...Now one 100 is taking and shared among d 5lecturers, Each getting 20slots..Now they advertise their slots to d weaklings who did'nt meet up with d cut-off mark for that law[This linking is generally termed as Connection], Now anybody that buys d slots wuld automatically Get admitted into law skul even if d person is Kilometres far from the cut-off mark...Now the remaining 100 is now left for the whole public to fight for, meaning that d best 100students would mk it, While d rest who even have better grades than those who bought slots, Are dispised and Denied...That is why Connection and corruption is d song for aspirants.

Understood?

Yeah... Exactly
