EducationRe: Anyone In Cyprus International University? by SamAsante: 5:06pm On Jun 29, 2017
Hello there,
I'm a current Master student from Ekiti State and this is my third semester in the school.

--To help you understand the difference between our universities in Nigeria and Cyprus International University (CIU), I'll just list the following parameters and then you can make an informed decision for yourself.

*There are no strikes for sure
*Student-Lecturer interactions are at the best levels
*Lecturers DO NOT say I'll fail you because of personal or attitudinal issues.
*The school has purchased 3 state of the art real-time Information Systems to facilitate administrative and academic life of a student.
*Library is equipped with fast computers
*School has purchased access to several top-rated journals and publishing sites for scholarly research (IEEE for example helps me a lot)
*In my department(Computer Engineering), we can boast of 17 ultra-modern Computer labs; of which the MAC lab tops it all
*I cannot ever forget the joy of being taught by Professors who are beacons of the field in all of Europe. Most of them are the ones who designed and built European Network framework.

+Related to work, I cannot say everyone is working, but decent jobs are available.
+Students are allowed to work to the legal limit of 20 hours per week.
+If you have the skill and personality they require, getting a job here isn't much of a hustle.
+I along with about 71 other Nigerians are employed in the school

-Accommodation of campus costs like £100 - £150 to get a single room in a 3-bedroom apartment

Scholarships are available (Largely for undergraduates) if they achieve a CGPA above 3.5 (75%), 3.65 (100%)
This only leaves a registration fee of €302

Overall, the Island is a secure and conducive environment and fosters good education.
I personally wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone to Cyprus International University and Cyprus as a whole.
