I was told by the Porter that a second list will be released, but this delay is quite unfriendly.

This is a glaring scam, she shouldn't ordinarily need you or anyone to tell her but since she is unaware.
1) Tell her to check google, if the company has online presence and what is said about it. I did and the company do not exist.
2) She must have made contact with the company by phone call, let her inquire what business the coy is into and a physical address. She should even be careful if she want to visit the coy's location as there has been reported cases where this said coys are actually kidnappers and ritual killers
3) Her salary will be deducted for passport?, it will soon turn that she should make payment before resuming. What sort of passport or Visa?. What do she need a passport for?, is the coy not based within the country
4) How did she know the someone that helped her secure the job and for how long, is the person even employed?.

Thanks for showing interest in my ordeal. Its possible it was a first come first serve stuff (but with the Nigeria factor incorporated) as I met a dude who submitted a day before I did whose name was at bottom of the list.

Please note that I have made up my mind that the masters program would be the alternative forgone if PWC clicks.

Awon A1 ni Economics, personally and Idealy, you shouldn't include your current studies if you will not round up by say August for Assurance or by May for Advisory. Don't you think they may consider it and advice you to complete your studies? (I believe you know what it entails when a recruiter advices you in this regard?).

I learnt one can get clearance forms at the cafes around PG school. However, I saw a link http://pgschool.ui.edu.ng/images/form/Clearance_paper.pdf to download the clearance form on the PG website, but the form reads "CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE 2014/2015 ADMISSION EXERCISE). Is this the same form that is being printed at the cafes or the session reads 2016/2017? @Sambest2

Yes, its the same form. If you have any PDF editor, simply edit it to reflect 2016/2017 or you can still get from pg school cafe 3 copies goes for #100.

I also experienced this in NYSC camp, we were stylishly forced to subscribe but I didn't fall prey to this scam.

I believe NYSC is still propagating this scam. Who knows how much NYSC is receiving for this .

#U-report: My #Experience


First time “U-report” was mentioned to my hearing was during my compelled registration into it. Then I was like “report what?” later, we were made to understand that it was not an address as in “you report”, but a name of an organization alleged to be “amplifying the voice of the masses” (U-Report). That was over a year now, at Paiko training camp for my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

It is alleged that U-report, an sms-based platform “empowers Nigerians by enabling them participate and engage in policy-making and governance” and synonymous to “freedom” for the masses; but it actually means different things to different people; for me, it is an infection.

Wondering about the enforced registration, I inquired “Is U-Report part of NYSC programs? I got a fine response “…it is necessary!” But let’s not forget that “Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.” (William Pitt).

Because of the manner we were forced into it, and my lack of interest in their usually rhetoric updates or questions like “have you ever been bullied? A) Yes B) No” or their latest question “Do you think climate change is a threat to the wellbeing and security of humans? A) Yes B) Somewhat C) No” I decided I will unsubscribe soon as I leave the camp, not knowing I was already trapped. While in service, every corps member were again forced to register twenty people, without which we can’t get our monthly stipends; we had no option. After that, I searched for ways to unsubscribe, i couldn’t find. I googled, checked the u-report website for code to unsubscribe, I found nothing. Luckily, I found and message u-report Nigeria Facebook forum, I got a response to text “help” to 24453, I was happy. I did that, followed the directions that followed… after many trials, I discovered it was sham, I always get bounced back; there was no way to unsubscribe.

For me, getting consistent messages I didn’t willingly subscribe for, with no room for me to unsubscribe is harassment. In this case, my little address to u-report is: “my freedom is more important than your good idea”

I saw a news some time ago that Nigeria is the first to reach a million subscribers on U-report platform, it was celebrated. But the truth is, it was reached through unfair means.

One of the friends I managed to register into U-report as a corp member to avoid losing my monthly stipends was always like “You put me in this, it’s a bug. Unsubscribe me!” Although I appreciate the fact that their buggy sms no longer comes often, I made a promise for him to exercise patience, that am still in search of a way out. Till now, am still searching.

U-report must have crossed over 10 million subscribers unless they stopped the enforced registration of NYSC members. They surpassed their target, I hope they can now make a way for un-subscription.

If you can help me un-subscribe, I’ll appreciate.

It actually takes less than 30 minutes to be cleared at PG school, provided all your documents are intact both physically and on the portal.


My earlier response was for when you'll get a mail confirming that you've been cleared and thus this means you can pay your fees and continue other registrations.

Mine took few hours, less than 6 hours.

NASU called off theirs last week friday officially.
No ASUU has decided to strike so we back to square one. I think lectures will just be grounded nao. But PG school should still work efficiently since they are Non-academic.

OK, do you have any idea concerning hall allocation, I submitted my request form before the strike, what's my next line of action. I do not reside in Ibadan.
