An armed robber caught robbing with a toy gun in Edo State yesterday was caught and beaten mercilessly by an angry mob.

He said his name is Smallie and also claimed to be from Osun State and also calls himself a Christian.

He said he only attempted to steal because he had not eaten for the past 3 days. And also when asked why he used a toy gun, he said he dey use am steal because he never chop

Five (5) people have been confirmed dead and 7 injured as robbers attack Zenith Bank, Owerri. The robbers were said to have trailed a customer with a huge sum of money to the bank.

The robbery took place on Wednesday, 23rd February, 2017 and has left 5 people dead and 7 others injured.

Out of the five people who lost their lives was one of the robbers, three bank security agents and the customer who was trailed to the bank, seven other people were injured in the crossfire.


The witness said: “The bandits on getting to the bank premises opened fire at the man as he was bringing out his money. As soon as that happened, security men at the bank responded by shooting down one of the robbers.

Premier League Champions, Leicester City, have sacked Claudio Ranieri 9 months after he guided them to their first ever league title.

This was made known by the club's official website in a statement disclosed on Thursday, 23rd February, 2017.

A statement by the club’s vice chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha read: “This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make in nearly seven years since King Power took ownership of Leicester City. But we are duty-bound to put the club’s long-term interests above all sense of personal sentiment, no matter how strong that might be.

“Claudio has brought outstanding qualities to his office. His skilful management, powers of motivation and measured approach have been reflective of the rich experience we always knew he would bring to Leicester City. Lol. But why 10 years self?

As written in a story published by Amnesty International, a young man named Ivo Fomusoh has been tried, convicted and sent to 10 years imprisonment for texting a joke.

Ivo's brother, Fomusoh Eric tells his story below:

Two years ago, my brother Fomusoh Ivo Feh was a young man just about to start university. He knew how hard it was to find a job in our country Cameroon without a degree. But a tough job market wasn’t the only struggle facing our country. The armed group Boko Haram was also carrying out attacks in Cameroon, causing the government to enact a fierce crackdown on alleged sympathizers.

Reports coming in from Melbourne suggests the crash of an airplane into a shopping centre next to Essendon airport.

According to Daily Mail, five people were onboard the Beechcraft charter plane to King Island, towards Tasmania. Huge flames were seen blowing from the northern side of the city on Tuesday morning after the airplane crashed just before 9 o'clock.

Surrounding roads and areas would be affected for some time according to the police.

Motorists and witnesses have been posting pictures and videos of the smoke and fire around the building on which the plane crashed.

Some students of the University of Abuja have blocked the airport road which is always a busy road to protest the death of one their female students who was knocked down by a driver while trying to evade some robbers.

The tragic incident took place on Sunday, 19th February, 2017 at night in front of the school permanent site gate. The name of the female student is still unknown and students of the school have come out in hundreds to protest, saying the fault comes from the government by not providing pedestrian bridges to avoid such incident.

A severe drought has exposed a church that has been hidden under water for 400 years. Recent pictures and videos of the church which had reportedly disappeared in the 1960s showed that it has never crumbled.

The historians believed that the temple was built by monks and nuns in the 1500 when Christianity first arrived in the region.


The church has been sunk inside water for decades but was recently exposed when a severe drought dried up the water of the late in which it was swallowed.

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, got visited by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara in the UK and shared pictures online.

Some people believed these pictures are not real and that the government is only trying to cover up Buhari's health status.

Dwight Yorke who is a Manchester United legend and former striker for the club has been denied entry into the United States under the new president, Donald Trump's ne2 strict laws.

According to sources, the Manchester United legend was denied entry into the United States because he had an Iranian stamp in his passport, Iran being part of countries disallowed to enter US.

Nokia 3310 was one of Nokia's most successful phones which sold around 17 million phones when it was launched 17 years ago. And now, it seems the owner of Nokia brand, HMD global, are bringing back the Nokia 3310 mobile handset.

Due to its strong and indestructible nature, Nokia 3310 has been a big hit to users and was regarded as one of the most reliable phones ever.



However, according to a report, Finnish company HMD Global are now planning to re-release the phone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month, along with three other new Nokia handsets.

The phone will now cost around £50. This price was stated according to technology website venturebeat.

An uncontrollable fire broke out inside OAU around 8:00 pm on Monday night, 13th February, 2017 around ICAN lecture theatre and dramatic arts department. According to those who witnessed it at the start, the fire started at the other side of the mountain in front of the Faculty of Administration extension building sand later spread downwards to the other side of the mountain, the one facing the building.

I got to the scene around 9 pm and the fire was still at its high potential and was still spreading. Arriving at the scene, I saw a fire brigade vehicle but later noticed that it is already out of water and the fire is still blooming.


According to some people, the fire is always created every year probably by hunters from small villages inside OAU.

while I was at the scene, a man arrived, demanding more extinguishers. According to him, he had called four professors who I think are in charge of students care and security but none of them seemed to be responding.

Minutes later, the fire has already spread towards the buildings near it which include Admin Extension building and Dramatic Arts Department buildings. The area was no longer conducive for people watching because there were flames everywhere causing eye pain for people.

Two dead bodies has been dumped in front of Okene General Hospital, Kogi state on the 12th of February, 2017. It was however stated by a facebook user that the men were armed robbers killed by policemen while carrying out their operation in disguise as military operatives.


I think it's time for Nigerian Security to check its operatives and know the exact way to tell if they are real or fake.

At least 17 people have been confirmed dead while several others injured at a stampede that occurred at Angola during a match on Friday which was blamed on police error by the host team.

According to reports, the incident happened in the northwestern part of Uige where numerous number of people tried to enter the stadium at once, leading to the fall of so many of them who were then trampled upon by others.

Not less than 17 people were confirmed dead while about 60 people were severely injured and taken to a local hospital for for treatment.


The tragic incident occurred when a push started, leading to suffocation of people, then the rush and crumbling because some people had to walk over those that had fallen which then led to their death.

Moreover, it was said that supporters of one of the teams were angry and started breaking chairs and throwing things which led to the action of the police throwing tear gas at them. Other people started pushing and running, which then result to the stampede.

1.3 kilograms of fine quality Colombian Cocaine, contained in 90 wraps has been discovered in the belly of A Nigerian man, Okonkwo by the India's Narcotics Control Bureau, NCB while he was entering New Delhi from Lome, Togo.

The accused was taken to hospital where am X-ray confirmed the presence of these substances in his stomach.


He was identified as Monday Tony Okonkwo and was kept in the hospital for two days during which he expelled 90 capsules containing 1.3kg cocaine which took him 3 hours to ingest in Lagos, Nigeria.

“When we conducted a thorough search of his body and baggage, he denied having any drugs or banned substance with him. However, the NCB team got suspicious when he said that he had come to India regarding his business of wigs and hair, but was found travelling on a tourist visa,” said Rajender Pal Singh, deputy director general, NCB.

Tony was to deliver the drugs to another dealer in India before he was arrested. The India police have made it known that they are now looking for the dealers in India to make sure to put an end to the drug trade.

It was not long ago that it was reported that a disabled man was brutalized by some military personnel for wearing a camo - a cloth worn only by military personnel. He was beaten thoroughly only because he was putting on an army cloth, despite being disabled.

The disabled man got visited by the deputy director on public relations and the new 302 commander.


It was shown on a video uploaded online that one of the soldiers was throwing away his wheelchair while other were busy beating and rolling him on the ground.

It was however confirmed that the soldiers who did this have been apprehended to face discipline.

The disabled man was given clothes and cash gifts as he got visited.

West African Idol star and gospel singer, Eric Arugbayi has been confirmed dead at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital Complex after battling with an illness.

He was reported dead yesterday evening, 11th February, 2017 at the hospital in Delta State. He was survived by his wife, Chinonso and a child

The management of the school circulated this movement by passing in around the school premises. In addition, the circular also included that lecturer's are permitted to criticize or exclude students from lectures, test or exam halls for indecent dressing.
