A federal court located in Benin, Edo state had sentenced an internet fraudster known as Amegor Ovenseri to two years imprisonment on Monday over alleged internet fraud.

The accused was first arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on February 21, 2013 on a two count charge bordering on possession of fraudulent documents.

The accused was arrested on the 18th of January, 2013 at his home of residence by men in the army over a tip off.


Several laptops and phones were recovered from his residence during the arrest and we're handed over to the EFCC for further investigation.

The Magistrate, Justice P. I Ajoku found the accused, Amegor guilty of two count charge.

The count charge reads, “that you Amegor Ovenseri, on or about the 18th day of January, 2013, at Siluko road, Benin City, Edo State within the jurisdiction of this Honorable court did with conspire with one Ede Amegor to commit felony to wit: obtaining by false pretence contrary to Section 8a of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and Punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act”.

The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has written to the National Assembly of his will to extend his vacation in the UK due to medical reasons.

President Buhari had gone on a 10-day vacation in the UK and he's expected to be back on Monday, 6th February, 2017; but has now written to extend his stay in the UK.

And while he was gone, there has been several rumours that he is dead. Thanks to the media, these false rumours were proven wrong.

Meanwhile, Mr Femi Adesina who is a special adviser to the President on media and publicity stated that the president said he had to collect series of test results recommended by his doctors. He made the statement on the 5th of February, 2017.
He said,

"President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the National Assembly today, February 5, 2017, informing of his desire to extend his leave in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors.
The President had planned to return to Abuja this evening, but was advised to complete the test cycle before returning. The notice has since been dispatched to the Senate President, and Speaker, House of Representatives.

Popular Nigerian singer and leader of Nationwide protest, Tuface Idibia has officially announced the cancellation of his planned nationwide protest against Nigerian government.



2face, also known as 2baba is supposed to lead a nationwide protest against the Nigerian government due to worse situation of things in the country.

While going through my instagram page yesterday night, I came across a video uploaded by official2baba declaring that he has cancelled the nationwide protest because the protest is not worth the life of any Nigerian.

He made it known that after due consideration, consultation 2nd advices, he was therefore cancelling the protest because of the security of Nigerians joining the protest. He also thanked everyone for their support.

Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola has said that the gap between them (Manchester City) and Chelsea is still too big and he therefore admitted that they cannot catch up with Chelsea.


Guardiola made the following statements:

It came to the management of the University of Jos that prospective students who seek admission into the University have started receiving fake text messages telling them they have been admitted and are to commence registration with payment of clearance fee.



The text messages also provide a phone number 09034349452 purportedly from the University asking the prospective candidates to contact the number for the said payment and processing of their clearance.

The management of the University hereby inform the entire public especially students seeking admission into the University that the admission list is still in progress and has not been released. Students are therefore advised to disregard such fraudulent messages.

According to Donald Trump's immigration policy, the United States of America is expected to stop issuing 2-year visas to Nigerians. The aim of the policy is to treat countries the same way Americans are being treated regarding visas.

It is so sad to announce the death of Veteran Actor, John Hurt, who played a great role in the popular movie, Harry Potter.

John died at the age of 77 after he was diagnosed with early pancreatic cancer.


Hurt publicly announced on 16th June, 2015 that he has been diagnosed with early stage pancreatic cancer. Following his treatment, he stated that his cancer was in remission on 12th October, 2015.

The picture was posted on facebook by Aishat Alubankudi on Friday, 27th January, 2017 after she finished meeting with President Buhari.

The schools in Swaziland opened for their new academic year on Tuesday with the new government order to teach only Christians which was critically opposed by Muslims.

Officials said that old school books were being replaced with new ones which only mention the Bible in it. Also, schools were required to submit a new list of qualified religious studies teachers ahead of the new term.


Pat Muir, a top education ministry officer said that other religions won't be offered at primary and higher schools. He also said that the policy sought to avoid confusion among pupils.

He said, “At tertiary level they will be able to make a decision to learn about other religions,” he said.
Some surveys put Swaziland’s Muslim population as high as 10 percent, but the US Department of State in 2015 put the figure at about two percent.
Many Swazis combine Christianity with indigenous beliefs, and religious freedoms are written into the country’s 2005 constitution.
The education ministry last week instructed all head teachers to ensure that the syllabus would not mention any religion other than Christianity, including Islam and Judaism.
Sahid Matsebula, a Swazi-born Muslim who works for a mosque near the capital Mbabane, said the government’s policy could worsen religious friction in the southern African nation.
“What plan does the government have in place for our children who are not Christian?” he told AFP.

A 19-year old undergraduate student of Osun State University has died when a hospital refused to treat her because she could not pay their bill, N10, 000.

According to a colleague of the deceased who posted the story on facebook, Odeyinka was a sickle cell patient, a 100 level student in the department of Anatomy, Faculty of health sciences died at a hospital when the doctors there refused to treat her because she couldn't pay their 10,000 naira bills.


According to the person who posted it on facebook,


“Today being one of the saddest moment of my life. I lost someone so dear to me, the person of Odeyinka Ganiyat Feyisara, someone that I just met in a short while, thinking we were going to have a good time together.
She was a nice person. I had the feeling that she was going to be one of the best female friends I ever had.
All my hopes were cut short when the news got to me that she died this morning after a mild sickness and the community hospital refused to begin treatments on her due to lack of funds which her parents could sort out after the whole treatment.
Mere looking at it, they requested for just 10 thousand Naira(#10,000) which I myself could afford at that moment.

This came to me today with an audio message begging Nigerians to circulate the news of the killing.


According to the audio message, these Nigerians and other blacks are like living in houses they built themselves. After falling asleep at night, they would be captured, tired and killed with bullets.


Libya don't like black people despite being part of Africa. They despise back people and decided to execute them.

The transition team of US president elect has asked the state serious of questions which include why US should help Nigeria fight Boko Haram while Chibok girls are still being held captive.


The team alao asked about the business of America with African Countries. It also asked about how US do raise funds sometimes for African countries. "why do we give them money while we suffer here? ", they asked.

The team later landed on the fact that helping Nigeria fight Boko Haram is pointless since the Chibok girls kidnapped by Boko Haram members are not all free.

President-elect Adama Barrow as been sworn in as The Gambia's president and he has taken the oath of office at his country's embassy in neighbouring Senegal.

The ceremony was administered by Sheriff Tambadou, president of the Gambian Bar Association.
As it stands, Adama Barrow and Yahya Jammeh both claim to be presidents of The Gambia and as the incumbent refuses to vacate the seat, the president-elect has been sworn in.


Meanwhile more and more people have declared their allegiance to Barrow as Jammeh refuses to step down.

Both the country’s vice president, Isatou Njie Saidy, the army led by its chief, Ousman Badjie and a lot of others have also abandoned Jammeh.
Unconfirmed reports said that as tension continued to mount, the wife and children of the outgoing Gambian president, Yahya Jammeh allegedly abandoned him and have equally fled the country’s capital of Banjul a day before on the eve of the deadline given Jammeh by the ECOWAS and the African Union to step down.
Also part of The Gambia's military force has abandoned the recalcitrant president and they said Jammeh is currently surrounded only by foreign mercenaries and Casamance rebels.

Manchester City star, Yaya Toure has reportedly turned down a £430,000-a-week deal from China. He has promised to stay at the Etihad till the end of this season.

UNIOSUN students have refused to pay their school fees due to their investment in MMM.
The university authority has already claimed two students owing the school 2 billion naira and has made it known that students who owe school fees won't be allowed to write their tests and exams.


The news was recently made public by the school Vice Chancellor, prof Labode Popoola on the university campus.

The VC expressed his disappointment in students who abused the opportunity of school fees part payment for convenience of everyone. In addition, he has made it clear that the names and other details of debtors should be pasted and made public to all students in order to enforce the rules and regulations of the University.

After a month suspension, the ponzi scheme, MMM finally resumed operation on Friday, 13th January, 2017, a day before the officially announced date.
The Nigerian Police said it cannot go after the operators of the scheme because there has been no complaints against them.

The force public relations officer, Donald Awunah told Punch that there would be no arrest or challenge against the scheme since its participants has not render any complaints against it.
