The rogue former Governor of Delta State, James Onanefe Ibori, is scheduled to appear in a British court ending a years-long battle to evade multiple charges of money laundering and fraud.

The former governor is facing allegations that he stole $290 million (200 million euros) of public funds while in office.

SaharaReporters gathered from the Metropolitan Police in London that the 48-year old Ibori, one-time leader in the oil-rich Delta State, will be in the dock at the Southwark Crown Court.

there isn't much physical difference in the look and feel of both products,but its in the durability.whictech products are from new zealand(gerrard )while liquar is from china.that accounts for the difference in the prices.

FIFA vice president Jack Warner has resigned and an investigation into corruption allegations against him has been dropped, world soccer’s governing body said on Monday.

Warner, who had been suspended pending an ethics committee probe into bribery claims, has quit from all his posts in international soccer including CONCACAF president.

“FIFA regrets the turn of events that have led to Mr Warner’s decision,” FIFA said in a statement.

Trinidadian Warner was being investigated in a cash-for-votes scandal relating to the election campaign of then FIFA presidential candidate Mohammed Bin Hammam that rocked the governing body earlier this month.

Warner, who following his suspension had threatened to unleash a “football tsunami” by revealing contents of emails with FIFA president Sepp Blatter before backing down, had been involved with the governing body for nearly 30 years.

“His resignation has been accepted by world football’s governing body, and his contribution to international football and to Caribbean football in particular and the CONCACAF confederation are appreciated and acknowledged,” FIFA said.

CONCACAF is the regional governing body of North and Central America and the Caribbean and is currently holding the Gold Cup in the United States

BOSTON – A former Roxbury pharmacist has been sentenced to serve four years in jail for defrauding the Massachusetts Medicaid Program (MassHealth) of more than $555,000, Attorney General Martha Coakley’s Office announced today.   Aloysius Chukwukere Nsonwu, age 65, of Roslindale fraudulently billed for medications that were never prescribed by a doctor or dispensed from his Egleston Square Pharmacy.

“Medicaid fraud is a serious crime that hurts taxpayers and the Commonwealth by denying MassHealth the necessary funds needed to operate the program efficiently and effectively,” AG Coakley said.  “Our office will continue to aggressively prosecute these cases, and we are pleased that the Courts recognize the serious nature of this crime.”

Nsonwu was sentenced in Suffolk Superior Court by Superior Court Judge Thomas Connolly to four years in the House of Correction on charges of Medicaid False Claims (25 counts), Larceny by False Pretenses (25 counts) and Conspiracy.  Upon the completion of his jail sentence, Nsonwu will be on probation for five years.  Judge Connolly also ordered Nsonwu to pay $555,502.00 in restitution to MassHealth. 

In 2007, the Attorney General’s Office began an investigation after the matter was referred by MassHealth’s Provider Compliance unit. Nsonwu was the owner and sole officer of Egleston Square Pharmacy, Inc., located in Roxbury and is an eligible MassHealth provider.  Investigators discovered that from December 2004 through January 2009, Nsonwu submitted claims for dispensing the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) medications Epivir, Zerit, and Viramune to MassHealth using the identification numbers of 25 different MassHealth patients. Each claim listed a prescribing physician who never treated those patients or prescribed those medications.  Based on these false claims, MassHealth reimbursements totaling $555,502.11 were deposited into Nsonwu’s Egleston Square Pharmacy bank account
As a result of the AG’s investigation, the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy suspended Nsonwu’s license to practice pharmacy in March 2010.

On May 20, 2010, a Suffolk County Grand Jury returned indictments against Nsonwu.  He was arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court on June 1, 2010, and released on $50,000 cash bail. Nsonwu pled guilty to all charges in his Suffolk Superior Court case on April 22, 2011.  Today, he pled guilty to all charges and was sentenced.  On June 14, 2011, Nsonwu was also sentenced on similar charges in Federal Court in a separate case.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Evelyn Y. Tang and was investigated by Investigator Brian Robinson, both of AG Coakley’s Medicaid Fraud Division, with assistance from Massachusetts State Police assigned to the AG’s Office.  Ashley Cinelli was the Victim Witness Advocate.  The Boston Office of the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, the United States Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police, and the United States Marshals Service all assisted in the investigation.

Pandemonium broke out this weekend in Illuelogbo township in Isoko North local government area, home town of Secretary to the Delta state government (SSG), Comrade Ovuozorie Macaulay following the murder of two persons by his security guard, Mr. Atoma Umukoro.

Umokoro is the security guard stationed at the compound of the SSG in the town.

Eyewitness told this citizen reporter that houses and cars were burnt by indigenes protesting the killings.

On the fateful day, Umukoro had confronted Henry Obona, 20, accusing him of stealing his wife’s recharge cards, a hot argument between the duo led the guard to the SSG to shoot and kill his victim instantly.

Shortly after Umukoro killed Obona, he was approached by Odhegba Ujiro, 27, who had wanted to help the victim. He was also shot at close range and died instantly.

The incident which sparked off clash, led to the burning of Atoma’s two houses and a car, while a car belonging to the SSG’s brother, Mr. Felix Obrokumo was also destroyed and then set ablaze by a mob in the community.

Macaulay who confirmed the incident through a text message to this reporter in Asaba said, “He is just one of over fifty people working for me. I do not have a chief security officer. He committed the alleged crime after his working hours and has nothing to do with my person or office.” Macaulay stated.

When contacted, the state police public relations officer, ASP Charles Muka confirmed the incident adding that the assailant has since been arrested and transferred to the state CID while investigations have commenced on the matter.
