Most banks will roll over your investment if they do not get a mandate from you 24-48hrs before maturity and I guess they gave you the available rate. But it is best you call your account officer to confirm the status of yourTB or you contact the bank through the various channels available. Whichever way it virtually impossible to get N583 as a yield from a coupon on TB at a discount rate of 1.1M. Policy for Termination of investment varies from bank to bank.

If your initial TB investment in FBN was through primary and you chose reinvest Principal + interest option it will be rolled over at maturity automatically without contact you. TB investment is in multiples of N1000. The N583 you got is the amount not upto the 1k to be reinvested when rolling over. If you go to other branch of FBN they will see the details of your transaction but will not give you the certificate because the investment was not done there; at best they may give sketchy detail verbally. However you can mail firstcontact@firstbankofnigeria.com to request for it to be emailed to you. They can easily contact your branch and ask them to forward it to you.

Back to my question, am a Frist timer on TB,I did 1.1M ,around feb dis year and I got 11.75 thereabout,FBN,primary market and I was given around 35k interest.Today should be the end of d tenure, wen I checked my balance online I was credited #583 ,,,,,now my confusion is that it seems I mistaken ticked rollover(or they did),now I don't know what rate that I was given,
2.....pls can I go to another first bank branch to make confirmation....(because presently am not in the state I did d last TB transaction)
3......if the rate is small ,can I terminate d TB...
Pls I need answers fast...

If you had submitted your email address with the bank before for online banking, then the should have been sending you email alerts. If not, you can send mail to their customer care requesting for it or approach a Fisrt bank branch manager near you for assistance.

91day tenor on 91day at 11.5% on N1,100,000 gives N1,100,000 x 11.5/100 x 91/364 = N31,625 (excluding transaction charges) if you were to be paid up front.

If you reinvested your interest less charges of say N31,000, your new or 2nd interest will be N31,000 ×11.5/100 × 91/364 = N891.25 also excluding transaction charges.

Since this second interest is not up to N1000, it can't be further reinvested. So it will be paid into your account less transaction costs which I guess is the N857.46 interest that was eventually paid into your account on 15/02/2018.

Then at maturity (after 91days), you will receive N1,100,000 + about N31,000 = N1,131,000. But note that N857.46 has already been paid to you too making a total of N1,131,857.46.

I align with your post. It appears his interest was reinvested and what was credited as NTB interest (N857.46 on 15/02/2018 & not N915 as you claimed) looks like the fraction of N1000 that couldn't be reinvested since it was not up to N1000. The N915 you saw on the statement of account is his monthly interest earned on the savings account while NTB interest was dropped on the 15th February 2018.

If you observe well, you will see from his account that it took them over a week to drop the interest instead of the normal 2 to 3days.

If he had given the tenor, one may have been able to do a rough calculation. All said and done, he needs to either go to the branch or get his soft copy of the certificate online to confirm but I am sure it was from the Secondary Market.

My issue now is that I invested 1.1M,on the 6th of February, and till now have not be given the upfront interest ,just this morning I decided to check my balance if it has dropped, to my surprise I saw N875.6 as interest... ....is it the interest or should I be expecting more...it 10days now.
