Truth be told these embassies in Nigeria are not fair in dealing with sincere applications. It can be frustrating sometimes the government needs to look into their activities my own case is different the reason they gave was that my August salary was not in my bank statement where as the bank statement was from March 1st to August 31st including the salary which was clearly circled for them to see. My conclusion is that they dont even look at the documents they come up with flimsy excuses that does not hold water.

Yes it is very possible for your husband to have a different surname from that of his father. I do answer the same surname as my father but my children have decided to answer my own name as their surname what they have done is to add my own first name to the family surname as their own surname and their own children can also do same if they so wish, so don't allow it to bother you it's not a scam at all.
