The response by Iran was deliberately calculated to be proportional my friend. If Iran wanted to actually kill Americans with this first move, they knew how and where to do it e.g launching cruise missiles and US consulates/embassies that abound in the region and not military bases where the uniformed people can take shelter in bunkers.
