SportsWorld Cup 2018: Italian Side AS Roma Adopts Nigeria For World Cup-bbc Africa by Sammyjay4411(op): 1:10pm On May 18, 2018
Italian Serie A side Roma has come out to back Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The club initially posted news of the Super Eagles squad on Twitter and one of Nigeria president Muhammadu Buhari's personal assistants thanked Roma.

In response the Italian club posted: "Good luck to the squad at the @FIFAWorldCup in Russia.

"Italy won't be there, so #ASRoma will be supporting our own players and the #SuperEagles - #ForzaSuperEagles."

The Italian side have two Nigerians on their books, Nura Abdullahi and Umar Sadiq - neither of whom have been included in the Super Eagles' preliminary World Cup squad.

Abdullahi spent last season on loan at Italian rivals Perugia while Sadiq was at Dutch side NAC Breda.

Egypt may well be disappointed not to get Roma's backing given that the Pharaohs' key striker Mohamed Salah spent two seasons at the club.

Nigeria have been drawn in Group D at the World Cup and will play Argentina, Iceland and Croatia.
PoliticsOpen Letter To Mr President By Rev David Oladipo by Sammyjay4411(op): 10:04am On May 01, 2018
OPEN LETTER TO MY PRESIDENT
Dear President Muhammadu Buhari,
I have to write this open letter, not in the tradition of some retired generals who have access to you but want to play politics, but because I don't have access to you. I'm also not sure it will get to you, but I hope that somehow, someone serious minded around you will see and read it.
I voted for you because of your incorruptible reputation. There's no public office holder in this area like you in Nigeria, at least at the moment. Knowing what corruption has done to us, that stealing was even no longer corruption for some people, I was convinced we needed you.
I also voted for you because I looked into my spirit and I was convinced you were the right man for the job. I'm a Pastor, and I knew the attitude of most Christians towards you but I couldn't deny my own conviction.
Thirdly, I voted for you because in my own opinion, another term for GEJ would spell doom for our Motherland, especially in the area of the economy.
However, I must confess to you this day that you have failed me/us. I feel so disappointed.
It's so unfortunate that it seems we keep having failed leaders in this country.
You asked for our votes based on your plans for Security, Economy and Corruption. In which of these three have you done well? None!
In the area of the Economy, yes, I agree you have performed averagely, but who rewards average performance?
Security is as bad today as it was during the administration of your lousy and incompetent predecessor, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
Just like we experienced under him, we're now getting used to you condemning attacks and promising to apprehend the culprits, rather than prevent the attacks through effective Intelligence Gathering. Even more painful is the fact that the culprits are never apprehended!
What is more, Benue elders had to visit you after the gruesome attacks in January! I found that disheartening. That you were too busy to go to Benue State to commiserate with them over their loss, that they had to visit you for the same? Where's your humanity?
This was one of the things APC (All Promises Cancelled?) used against GEJ when he asked parents of the Chibok Girls to visit him in Aso Rock so he could commiserate with them. Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola particularly lamented about how unAfrican such a thing is. Pray, is it now African because it's you?
Nigeria is one huge killing field again! If you fail in your primary assignment, which is security of lives and property, then you have truly failed, no matter the roads you build. Are the roads going to be used to covey our dead bodies to the grave?
The fight against corruption is a huge joke. You are obviously shielding corrupt people who are your friends. Please where is "Grasscutter" Babachir Lawal today? How did Senator Musiliu Obanikoro miss your purported looters' list, among others!
You are not invincible sir, let no man deceive you. Your party is already manifesting the same arrogance that swept the locust party, PDP away into the dustbin of history. Pride goes before a fall. If Humpty Dumpty (read PDP) could fall, then you and APC (All Promises Cancelled?) can also fall.
I campaigned vigorously and voted for you. I have never voted for PDP and will never vote for her. That party represents everything that should not be. I have stood with you and defended you in the last three years of your government, hoping against hope because I was convinced and still am, that you were our best bet for 2015.
I am however disappointed in your handling of Security and Corruption issues. Even your appointments into government offices makes it look like Nigeria is only about Northern Nigeria!
Remember that while the North consistently voted for you all the times you stood for election, it wasn't until the South, especially Southwest joined that you could succeed.
Is all hope lost yet? Not quite sure. What can you do in the next 10 months to make anything different?
Please sir, with all due respect, try taking a look at the following suggestions from me:
1) Rejig the fight against corruption. Be decisive with cases of people like Babachir Lawal, Babagana Kingibe, etc. Take the cases of all former PDP members who have decamped to APC, accused of corruption and are already standing trial more seriously.
Let's even see something concrete happening in this area.
What about APC members, is any of them corrupt at all?
2) Punish impunity. This was a big problem under GEJ and it's happening right under your nose Baba.
For example, what did you do about the IGP who disobeyed your directives on the Benue massacre?
3) Fire incompetent aides, they're a distraction. Who recommended that Ilorin man already in prison for corruption to you as Chairman, National Population Commission? It's people like this that are giving you a bad name.
Some of your ministers have outlived their usefulness.
Infact, I'm surprised it looks like you're stuck with them. Are you not the President? Don't you have the power to change your Team again?
4) Your Public Communications Team is not doing well at all sir. Tinker with it. They've caused you too much embarrassment! They're not doing enough to carry Nigerians along. Many people don't know some of the things you're doing well, especially with the economy.
5) Intensify efforts in growing the economy. Continue with the improvement in power generation and distribution. The revolution in the Agricultural sector must be sustained and consolidated upon. We're not self-sufficient in food production yet.
6) Declare the Fulani Herdsmen a terrorist group. Declare total war on them. Arrest and prosecute their sponsors. You're already in your old age sir. You're also a retired General! Are you still afraid of anyone? Write your name in gold please. Don't let your children be like Sanni Abacha's children, who can hardly walk tall in the society.
7) Your security chiefs are not performing. Why not look for people with fresh ideas, even if they're from other parts of Nigeria!
I have taken my time to write this hoping that somehow, by the time we go to the polls next year, I will be able to still vote for you like I did in 2011 and 2015. Many of my comrades are already tired and have lost hope and interest in you.
I don't blame them, we voted for you because you promised change, but things have been largely business as usual.
Sir, don't let your people deceive you, Nigerians have options. PDP at least knows that now.
I hope you will not try to tamper with election dates like your lousy and lazy predecessor when you eventually see the handwriting on the wall as elections approach if nothing is done in the next six months.
In the meantime sir, please be assured of my highest regards, prayers and whatever other support I can give you.
Yours sincerely,
Rev. David O. Oladipo

So a Nigerian withe the twitter handle @ouchman101 took his time and effort to come up with a brief profile of those who have made their intention known of vying for the office of the president come 2019.
It is good we get familiar with all of them and keep pushing to be sure we make the right decision come 2019.

I used to doubt the rapture theory until I had a dream about the rapture, believe me when I say it looked so real, and the funny thing is that in the type that hardly dream, I was so shocked and scared when I woke up, and mind you I'm not a saint or a believer but after that dream I stopped doubting the rapture, I'm not trying to please anyone by writing this but the rapture theory is real you can choose to believe or not.
