But come to think of this, Since literacy is an essential tool for individuals and states to be competitive in the new global knowledge economy, Nigeria is still lagging behind.
The rankings counts nigeria among the least literate nation with huge population reading below basic line. What will this mean? Maybe another narrative will save us here . let's try population with innovations. telltale clues as to the innovative capabilities of a nation will lead us through this narrative, China is a proper example to attest with their proper technological innovations and inventions spread out throughout the entire global world.

Saying that doesn't mean Nigeria is a disgrace to Africa, at least their tech industry is something to write home about. But then again, can huge population impact to underdevelopment and sluggishness ?? ... Now this is africa problem with nigeria commanding the list of huge population.
And since Nigeria and Ghana debate has sparked up, I will just give out my small submission of understanding.

Yes! nigeria is more developed than Ghana(infrastructure-wise) and that is crystal reality. But nigeria is not doing better than Ghana is any ramifications( save normal gdp driven by population).
Nigeria is one great nation that can save Africa's reputation but here they are disgracing it to the world. More Nigerians as compared to any other country in the world are in diaspora developing other countries while theirs is falling apart at the seams.
Africa is rising while the giant is rotting.
