[quot e author=Fatdon]Ten Obvious Reasons Why Islam is NOT a Religion of Peace #1 18,000 deadly terror attacks committed explicitly in the name of Islam in just the last ten years. (Other religions combined for perhaps a dozen or so). #2 Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, had people killed for insulting him or for criticizing his religion. This included women. Muslims are told to emulate the example of Muhammad. #3 Muhammad said in many places that he has been "ordered by Allah to fight men until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is his messenger." In the last nine years of his life, he ordered no less than 65 military campaigns to do exactly that. Muhammad inspired his men to war with the basest of motives, using captured loot, sex and a gluttonous paradise as incentives. He beheaded captives, enslaved children and raped women captured in battle. Again, Muslims are told to emulate the example of Muhammad. #4 After Muhammad died, the people who lived with him and knew his religion best immediately fell into war with each other. Fatima, Muhammad's favorite daughter, survived the early years among the unbelievers at Mecca safe and sound, yet died of stress from the persecution of fellow Muslims only six months after her father died. She even miscarried Muhammad's grandchild after having her ribs broken by the man who became the second caliph. Fatima's husband Ali, who was the second convert to Islam and was raised like a son to Muhammad, fought a civil war against an army raised by Aisha, Muhammad's favorite wife - and one whom he had said was a "perfect woman." 10,000 Muslims were killed in a single battle waged less than 25 years after Muhammad's death. Three of the first four Muslim rulers (caliphs) were murdered. All of them were among Muhammad's closest companions. The third caliph was killed by allies of the son of the first (who was murdered by the fifth caliph a few years later, then wrapped in the skin of a dead donkey and burned). The fourth caliph (Ali) was stabbed to death after a bitter dispute with the fifth. The fifth caliph went on to poison one of Muhammad's two favorite grandsons. The other grandson was later beheaded by the sixth caliph. The infighting and power struggles between Muhammad's family members, closest companions and their children only intensified with time. Within 50 short years of Muhammad's death, even the Kaaba, which had stood for centuries under pagan religion, lay in ruins from internal Muslim war... And that's just the fate of those within the house of Islam! #5 Muhammad directed Muslims to wage war on other religions and bring them under submission to Islam. Within the first few decades following his death, his Arabian companions invaded and conquered Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist and Zoroastrian lands. A mere 25 years after Muhammad's death, Muslim armies had captured land and people within the borders of over 28 modern countries outside of Saudi Arabia. #6 Muslims continued their Jihad against other religions for 1400 years, checked only by the ability of non-Muslims to defend themselves. To this day, not a week goes by that Islamic fundamentalists do not attempt to kill Christians, Jews, Hindus and Buddhists explicitly in the name of Allah. None of these other religions are at war with each other. #7 Islam is the only religion that has to retain its membership by threatening to kill anyone who leaves. This is according to the example set by Muhammad. #8 Islam teaches that non-Muslims are less than fully human. Muhammad said that Muslims can be put to death for murder, but that a Muslim could never be put to death for killing a non- Muslim. #9 The Qur'an never once speaks of Allah's love for non-Muslims, but it speaks of Allah's cruelty toward and hatred of non-Muslims more than 500 times. #10 "Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!" (The last words from the cockpit of Flight 93)
hmmm |

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two years into President Barack Obama's second term, more voters say they are dissatisfied with his administration's handling of everything from the economy to foreign policy, giving him the worst marks of any modern U.S. president, a poll on Wednesday said. In a survey of 1,446 registered voters, 33 percent said Obama was the worst president since World War Two, while 28 percent pointed to his predecessor, George W. Bush, as the worst, the poll by Quinnipiac University found. Voters were split over which of the two most recent presidents has done a better job with 39 percent saying Obama has been a better president than Bush and, 40 percent saying Obama is worse. Most voters said Ronald Reagan, who served two terms in the 1980s, was the best president since 1945, the survey showed. "Over the span of 69 years of American history and 12 presidencies, President Barack Obama finds himself with President George W. Bush at the bottom of the popularity barrel," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of Quinnipiac University's polling unit. While Obama's job approval rating has inched higher to 40 percent, up from 38 percent in December, more voters gave him largely negative marks in key areas: the economy, foreign policy, healthcare and terrorism, according to the poll. On the environment, 50 percent gave Obama positive marks. The telephone survey, taken June 24 to June 30, had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.6 percentage points. Pk001: Did any of you collect his appointment letter in a stadium?I think you are getting it wrong here, you don't expect 50 employees to go to a stadium to take employment letter, the 13,000 teachers that was employed had there orientation at different days and in batches, needed to assemble at a place for them to be addressed by there employer and the stadium is an appropriate place for them to assemble. |
Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih on Tuesday admitted that leading figures of the party who broke away on Saturday have valid reasons to have taken the action. However, in a statement released in Abuja on Tuesday, Anenih expressed hope that the rebels would return to the party because their grievances would be addressed. “I believe some of them have genuine grievances. But I have hope that once the grievances are addressed, they will come back. I am happy that the PDP has an internal mechanism for effective conflict resolution, and at the end of the day, the problems will be addressed and the PDP will come out of the crisis stronger. “Ongoing peace talks with the factional members have been postponed till next Tuesday, on the request of the aggrieved governors. The talks were initially scheduled to continue today (Tuesday). The Presidency and PDP leadership would take advantage of the postponement to also consult widely on how to amicably resolve the crisis.” He added that selected party leaders would meet with former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday, as part of the wider consultations demanded by parties involved in settling the crisis. “Part of the wider consultations is the meeting of selected party leaders with Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday morning and thereafter, we will meet with the governors on Tuesday, next week.” Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and seven PDP governors stormed out of the party’s convention at the Eagles Square Abuja to another venue, where they announced a breakaway faction of the party. Atiku and the seven governors — Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Musa Kwankwaso (Kano), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Sule Lamido (Jigawa) and Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara) — named former National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje as chairman of the faction and former National Secretary, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola as Secretary. Amaechi, Obua Faction Trade Words over Breakaway PDP The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Felix Obuah lacks character and maturity in their utterances on the state governor and his supporters, Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Leyii Kwanee said on Thursday. Earlier, the state chapter of the party had expressed little surprise at Governor Chibuike Amaechi’s declaration of his membership “of a tiny over-ambitious clique under a purported factional PDP whose only interest is to scatter the party and stop President Jonathan’s second term bid.” In a statement issued and signed by Special Adviser on Media to the State Chairman, Jerry Needam, the party stated that although the reasons why Amaechi had scuttled all moves for peace in the state and stability in the PDP were not lost on it, his open declaration and support for those that never wish the PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan well has now left no one in doubt as to his real interest and purpose. “Amaechi has already failed before he started because no one in political history had been used against his own and survived it,” the statement said. “Amaechi and his colleagues who are the foremost beneficiaries of the party’s toil are devil incarnates for plotting to destroy the very platform through which they got to the pinnacle of their political career.” But responding to the statement by the Obuah clique, the deputy speaker wondered why anyone giving suggestions on modalities for returning peace to the party should be called names. He argued that utterances of the Obuah-led faction portray them as self-centred people working against peace moves by elders of the party at the national level. “In all honesty, the governor has been fair to Mr. President. Not only did he give his personal support to him in his first tenure as one of our own, he mobilized the people of the state to post the highest votes ever recorded in any state of the federation,” Kwanee said. “When the crisis began, it was on record that the president never waded into it as a statesman and father, as this is his base, to resolve it. Rather he chose to work with the Obuah faction without knowing that a house divided against itself cannot stand.” He acknowledged that there are always disagreements anywhere even in homes and families and not to talk of the wider society and that the public had expected the president to intervene at the onset but he chose to believe the paper tigers in the state, who are deceiving him that they could dislodge the governor. “If you were Governor Amaechi, will you just fold your arms and allow yourself to be dislodged and clap for the president for dislodging you for the interest of South South. Haba! It is not right,” he exclaimed. The deputy speaker said the way forward is for the PDP structure in the state to be revisited and all actions emanating from the Obuah-led faction reversed in line with the party constitution.
