HealthRisks Of Anal Bleaching!!!! by sapidsapiens(op): 8:54pm On Jun 29, 2017
What Is Anal Bleaching?

It is exactly what it sounds like… And before you get grossed out totally, the procedure is also more like a form of torture.

An acid is applied to your freshly waxed anus and rubbed in. Most places offer the initial application at the spa for about N35k-45k ($100-150), then sell you a set of bleaching lotion or gel to use at home. The whole in-spa process takes about 20 minutes and depending on how dark your skin is, you may need to reapply a number of times to see results.

If you think it ends there, then you’re wrong. There is also a thing like vulva lightening: where the bleach is applied to the vulva (opening of the vagina).

The Many Risks of Anal Bleaching

Gynecologists and dermatologists agree that anal bleaching is far from a no-risk procedure, which is why it’s not a smart idea to get it done by non-MDs in a spa, no matter how nice and clean the place looks. “There have been a few reports of burning, irritation, and even scarring from this practice,” Dr. Wider explained.

FamilyWas Humanity Ever United At One Point In Time? by sapidsapiens(op): 8:54pm On May 08, 2017
Do you think there was ever a time when humanity was united? When the colour of our skin, race, tribe and all that didn’t matter? A time when all that mattered was the fact that “we are all humans.”

Imagine that for a second. A world where nothing like states, territories and all the boundaries didn’t exist. Imagine if we all had the same zeal to protect and help each other (strangers) like we have for “our people” (family, friends, and anyone you can familiarise with even at the smallest level.)

We really don’t care about all the things happening in the world until “it happens to us or we are affected by it one way or the other.” Isn’t that just sad? Especially when we open our eyes and see that we are all human beings before all else.

I haven’t told many people this, but last year, an uncle of mine – whom I never met, or at least don’t remember meeting – was killed by the Fulani herdsmen. Before then, I had browsed through many stories of the terror the herdsmen had wrought. Killing babies, women and anyone who dares stand in their way (knowingly or unknowingly). Although I felt the pain in my heart and said a silent prayer for their souls, I did nothing else apart from joining the masses to dump on the president (do we have one?), government, and anyone in the position of power who is/was meant to make sure none of these things ever happen(ed).

What could I have done differently, you ask?

FamilyMy Near-birth Experience by sapidsapiens(op): 8:17pm On Apr 27, 2017
Life sucked. I desperately needed and wanted to change especially with the gospel around me that said: “you don’t need people”, “learn to be independent” ad infinitum. I admired people who seemed strong, independent and “I can do good (/bad as the case may be) all by myself-ish” I wanted to be them. I wanted to be the “hard as nails”, “stoic as rock” kinda person. I wanted to be the hybrid you get when you cross-breed Annalise Keating with Queen Ravenna plus a heavy overdose of their matriarch Queen Cersei. I wanted to be tough, unsmiling and “unneeding” of people. I wanted to be a “bad bitch” (although I have to say here that how the b-word evolved from being an insult to being an accolade is totally lost on me).

Sadly, life isn’t the movies and my size isn’t exactly cut out for “bad bitchism”. It was many years and several stages of maturity later, with the benefit of hindsight, that I was able to understand that wanting to be a bad bitch was wanting to be a bad dog... continue reading here https://sapidsapiens.com/2017/04/27/my-near-birth-experience/

Fkforyou:
No offence, but I think the king is the most vulnerable piece on a chess board, restricted movement, always depending on other chess piece to protect him, can't destroy or take out other chess piece.

So, your analogy is a bit flawed or not ideal.
No, not really, as the king, it's your job to still move the other pieces to the right place and the right manner so as to protect your Kingdom. You get?
Even tho your movements are restricted. You have to make sure other pieces are working for you and your kingdom's benefits.
FamilyUsing CHESS As A Standard For Your LIFE!!!!!!! by sapidsapiens(op): 9:16pm On Apr 21, 2017
I’ll break it down into two perspectives so that you can fully understand it.

From the Man’s perspective – You are the King, right? Of course, you are. And your major priority is to “protect your queen and hold down the fort while making sure everything is in order” for as long as you live. You are the one who controls and guides the other pieces even though you personally can only move one step at a time. Notice how the queen is right beside you? Because that’s how it’s meant to be… no side hoes, sarewagbas, ashis… Just your Queen!

On your other side and the queen’s, you have the bishop – ergo, God/Allah/the spiritual entity you believe in. If that force isn’t on your side before you start making your moves, then you know you’re moving in vain. Also, if you have God on your side, and you aren’t using his power to do well on this earth, then you seriously need to check yourself.

LiteratureShort Notes On Chigozie Obioma’s “the Fishermen” by sapidsapiens(op): 3:11pm On Apr 20, 2017
What first drew me to Chigozie Obioma’s “The Fishermen” was its setting; Akure, my town of birth and residence. Starting the book revealed that it was not only set in Akure, but also sub-set in Araromi; where we moved to in 1996. I was in familiar terrain. I found myself using our bungalow in the woods (subject of my poem “Araromi” which appeared in Israeli journal; “Ilanot Review’’ ‘s recently released “Theft” Issue. Read here) to visualize the scenes. As a result of this familiarity with both the setting and the daily frictions with brothers and parents, I was filled with a deep sense of nostalgia for those years of childhood. This feeling of nostalgia was preserved from the first page of the book, detailing a small map of the relevant parts of Akure, to its last page.

“The Fishermen” is an account of events that led up to and followed the chance meeting of Ben Agwu; the narrator, his brothers and friends with Abulu, a mad man who sometimes took on the persona of a prophet-of-doom. Abulu called out to Ikenna, the eldest of the brothers who had just adopted fishing as a pastime after their strict father, a federal civil servant, was transferred to distant Yobe. Ikenna, against all calls by his fellow “Fishermen” to run away stood by to listen to Abulu’s prophecy. The prophecy marked the turning point in their otherwise peaceful lives.

Beautiful book cover for such melancholy
Ikenna spent the rest of his life trying to avoid the prophecy that a fisherman, who he presumed to be Boja; his brother, would kill him. In trying to avoid this terrible fate, he sealed it. The death of Ikenna, after all his fear-driven efforts, is an affirmation of the words of Master Oogway, fictional character in popular animation “Kung fu Panda”: “We often meet our destinies on the way we take to avoid it”. The motif is also reminiscent of the situation in Sophocles’ great Greek tragedy “Oedipus Rex” and in Ola Rotimi’s adaptation, “The gods are not to blame”.

The author uses Ben, the fourth of the brothers, to narrate the story and he starts each chapter with a bold metaphor in which he mostly likened characters to animals (Ben being a lover of animals). In proving the truth behind each metaphor, the narrator gently teased out the story while reinforcing the metaphor. About halfway through the book, Ikenna is killed by his brother, Boja, who then commits suicide. I looked at the still unread pages and wondered what greater tragedy lay ahead. I thus went through the rest of the story steeling myself in anticipation of a more tragic eventuality.

Chigozie Obioma
The book revealed a multiplicity of culpability. Adaku, the mother, blamed Mr. Agwu for not taking the whole family along. Solomon, a friend that accompanied them to Omi-Ala deserved a slice of the blame, Ikenna for waiting to hear the curse and Obembe who heard the most damning part of the curse over the noise of aircraft also deserve slices. Perhaps unfairly, Abulu, clearly not in control of his actions, was deemed the most culpable and became the target of vengeful plans. Mr Agwu got a cataract for his attempt. Ben and Obembe, who succeeded, got a prison sentence and a fear-imposed exile respectively. The story ends with a semblance of happiness, a discounted happiness.

Nairaland General8 Secrets Women Wish Men Knew by sapidsapiens(op): 11:39am On Apr 19, 2017
-Showing kindness has always and will always be sexy.

Sure women are usually attracted to the “bad boy” demeanour at first, over time, one realises that it was nothing more than a phase which often times passes faster than thunder strikes. Studies reported by Psychology Today suggests that women are sometimes attracted to aggressive traits in men for immediate sexual gratification, but are then repelled by the thought of them as long-term partners.

In our defence, the popular notion that “nice guys get friend-zoned or taken for granted” comes to mind before all else. But the truth women don’t want to accept is that the “friend zone” theory, is just a way of telling women when, where, and who they should have sex with. So don’t be fooled, Women love kind men. Women have sex with kind men. Women want to marry kind men and have lots of sex, and babies with them (trust me, I know). Most times, Women stay with men who are unkind to them because they are scared, not because they like it. So stay woke and stay kind!

-Dressing sloppily isn’t cute

When it comes to fashion, we can agree that we all have different tastes and “dress to impress within our means,” But it’s a given that women are drawn to men who dress well. Whatever your favourite styles are, just combine it perfectly. “Anomalies” like dirty sneakers, dirty jeans, pit stains and underage underwear are just not classy.Clean up and wear an outfit that adds more charm to your flattering personality. If you don’t know what to wear, ask her to style you up (thank me later for this!). However, as far as understanding women go, they do not like you overdoing the dress thing… so balance is, as always, key!

-You don’t need to pretend you’re perfect

Perfection is boring! Imagine how you’d feel when the “perfect” lady you’ve been stalking online that’s usually adorned in layers of filter, appears before you looking nothing like the perfection you’d been stalking, how would you feel?

It’s the same thing with girls. They don’t like a guy that tries too much or acts too perfect. Everyone knows nobody’s perfect — and, that imperfections make life, and relationships, interesting! So don’t present yourself as something you’re not because those hidden truths will come to the surface, anyway. Find someone who loves you for your own individual quirks and missteps. It’ll be worth it.

-Ladies are also afraid of losing their independence

The general notion which up till now is still causing more harm than good is “All women love marriage and want to marry ASAP.” whereas “All men are naturally scared of commitment” is something that should be left in the Stone Age. Believe it or not, women are just as scared of commitment as men are...

Christianity EtcWould You Still Please God? by sapidsapiens(op): 9:10pm On Apr 18, 2017
So, I woke up this morning to a broadcast message supposedly from a renowned pastor who had seen a Revelation. A revelation that elucidated how close “rapture” is and how the unpalatable, abhorrent, repulsive, horrendous, and hellish hell is. The objective of the write up as I had read it, seemed to be, instilling the fear of hell in Christians and probably non-Christians too, so much that it becomes impulsive to do God’s will and live right.

Somehow, it really got me thinking! Oh, not about hell…who cares. I got thinking about the reason for doing the right thing. Don’t they say, “the intent justifies the act”?

Personally, I think we’re getting it all wrong, I think what should be preached isn’t the HORROR OF HELL… it is that everyone DESIRES to please God, simply for love of him and not for the fear of hell! I most assuredly stand corrected but simply imagine this:

Fashion6 Essentials To Have This Rainy Season by sapidsapiens(op): 6:17pm On Apr 17, 2017
Apart from the cool breeze that accompanies the rains, some people (including me, sadly) do not like the rainy season. Asides the obvious getting wet, the messy environment it leaves behind just doesn’t do it for me.
The season is inevitable. However, we just need to know and get a few things right. Especially if you no get motor. lol.
Umbrellas and raincoats should be owned by default.

1. Waterproof bags and wallets
Ladies almost always carry bags. In the rainy season, it’s advisable to use waterproof bags and wallets to prevent water from messing up the stuff you have in your bag. Also, it helps to prevent water from spoiling your precious LV bag. lol!

2. Waterproof make up
No girl wants makeup smearing all over her face if she gets caught up in the rain for a bit. To prevent this, say yes to waterproof makeup. The only con here is that you have to add extra bucks to purchase them; more expensive but totally worth it. Your makeup would be intact all day, come rain, come shine.

3. Water-friendly shoes/sandals aka rubber sandals
I know what comes to mind is the rubber sandals we used to wear when we were kids. But that’s not what I’m referring to. There are so many Behind and pretty ones now. I suggest you grab a pair before they get too pricey.

Is it only Wenger that can take Arsenal to greater heights?

Arsenal going thru lots of internal problems that they can't tell the fans

Look at Leicester city after they sacked their coach wot happened?
Look at crystal palace after they sacked their coach wot happened?
And so many clubs like that

It's a pity unreasoned too low
Wenger has to go the earlier the better

If another coach was having same problem Wenger is having d best solution would be to let him go cos he is short of ideas
SportsWhy Arsene Wenger Should Stay On As Arsenal's Manager by sapidsapiens(op): 5:14pm On Apr 15, 2017
The “specialist in failure” has been getting, even more, stick this season than ever, as regular campaigns for #WengerOut keeps hitting social media and every advertising platform (with fans taking it up a notch by advertising WengerOut with an aeroplane.) While Arsenal fans are not wrong in wanting Arsene Wenger out so that a new person (probably Allegri) can take over and lead the club back to the successful era that Arsenal FC is known for, Wenger resigning from Arsenal may not be the best move right now because of these 3 reasons.

-Arsenal May End Up Doing Worse Than They’re Currently Doing:

When the greatest manager in EPL history, Sir Alex Ferguson, retired from Manchester United with celebrations and parades, no one thought of the aftereffect and what it could mean for the team. His absence opened everybody’s eyes to just how “below average” the team really was (though it tells how great Fergie is for using such a team to win trophies year after year). Hate on Wenger all you want, but one thing no one can deny is that his top 4 finishing run season after season is extremely impressive. Even at a time when the average age of the players in the squad was 22, during times when Wenger relied on the likes of Diaby, Squillaci, Silvestre, a seriously underperforming Theo Walcott, Merida, a very young Ramsey, Vela and Wilshere, and Bendtner, the team still kept finishing in fourth position, year in year out.

Arsene Wenger absence can have the same effect Fergie’s did. With only two world-class players currently in Arsenal (Ozil and Sanchez), how will the new Manager hope to use the average players to win anything of note? unless he, of course, clears out the team first.. and that brings us to the second point

- Restructuring the team can take a while, Are fans willing to wait that long?

Let’s face it, Arsenal fans aren’t “die-hard and patient” like Liverpool fans. When Jurgen Klopp took over a very below average team, the fans understood the problem and have stood by him through thick and thin. Yet Liverpool isn’t anywhere near where one would expect them to be. However, the fans are still patiently hoping and believing.
When Jose Mourinho took over Manchester United and signed world-class players Ibrahimovic and Pogba, coupled with the well-above-average players like Herrera, Rooney, Juan Mata & Eric Bailly, fans expected them to not only charge for the title but win it without breaking too much of a sweat (because at the beginning of the season, the only real fear was Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City), yet United are currently in a tug-of-war match for sixth position on the log with Arsenal.

So if a new manager comes in and has to restructure the team. If he has to clear out all the underperforming players and “players unworthy to wear the jersey” and it takes two to three seasons to achieve, are Arsenal fans going to patiently wait and support the team even though they’re not getting the “immediate results”? or will they cry #____Out faster than United fans did #MoyesOut?

Nairaland GeneralShocking Reasons Why You're Losing Your Hair II by sapidsapiens(op): 10:01pm On Apr 14, 2017
Lack of Shampooing:

“When you don’t shampoo — which would shed [hair] naturally as you wash — it means that the hair is just sitting on the scalp,” dermatologist Dr. Francesca Fusco told Shape. “You’ll see the accumulation when you do go to wash your hair.”
To eliminate any build-up on your scalp, Dr. Fusco suggests cutting back on the dry shampoo, as well as treating yourself to a weekly scalp exfoliation, which is simpler than it sounds. Simply mix an exfoliant like sea salt, or even sugar, right into your daily shampoo!

Scalp Condition:

Scalp conditions can sometimes hinder hair growth and trigger hair loss.
