fellis:Abeg read ya bible well for the bold. Though the bible is mostly based on the Jewish culture and I'm not a fan of throwing away our culture, but at least paying of dowry is in d bible.Check the old testament!! |
obowunmi:Don't mind some people. I think there is something greatly wrong with Nigerians and their self esteem. All these "I too sabi, over-confident" people, I tire for una ooo. In the western world, most ladies share a great deal in the wedding cost. In some cases the man even check in to stay in the lady's initial home. Yet, most of the ladies will gladly take their husband's family name. It is not an African thing as some ppl suggested. When will some ladies on NL start paying bride price on the husbands? When will some of them finish d building that will accommodate their newly wedded husband? The question from d inserted quote is: If you are married to Dangote, Barrack Obama,Adenuga, any state governor in naija, will U still answer ur family name just 4 equality sake? When we make 'serious' effort to bring out these 'equality' thing, it makes us so unreal and hypocritical. |
And I hope ppl trying to justify this rude behavior are not d same ppl that will shout 'racism' if this happens to a Nigerian artist in another country. Must we show our 'animistic' behavior in everything? I just pity the way most of us reason. It just shows why we are still where we are as a nation. |
ThiefOfHearts:From the way it pains U, I can only conclude U are one of the overgrown sissies in America seeing everything wrong in a guy being himself, or getting his heart desire. U better go back home a find a guy to bribe into marriage since U can't comment on a blog like this without being rude. Ur route is still far!! |
Hmmmm!!! Ladies, its easier to bash d guy, but how about putting urself in his shoes? In March this year, I had a similar treatment though not on a 1st date. 1st date was attending musical performance together. 2nd date was a diner at a friend's place. 3rd date was a diner where she brought d younger sister. We talked and laughed freely. Whenever we part, she will be d 1st to call to find out if I'm home or to tell me she is home. She returns my call any minute she gets home. After the 3rd date, things changed. She no more returned calls. Whenever I went to where she worked and steal brief time to ask her when next to meet, she claims being busy with classes. I allowed this Spring(May) when she was not taking any classes. she still avoid me up to the point of telling the sister to tell me on phone that she was not home. It was painful. I nearly went mental as I thought that was d last bus stop But I let go. 2 months later i traveled home. On coming back she was making a hell of noise "I thought we were friends?", "Y did U travel without telling me?" My response? "You were too busy for me". When she later discovered that I'm am aged and planing for my wedding, she freaked out and started calling me names before here friends. Whenever i see her now, I call her "My wife that never be" Summary: She was damn interested, but was playing hard to get, or doing permutation/combination mathematics. Just 2 lines text message would help this guy. Any one can go "psycho" for love sake. Do unto others what U wish done unto U. |
I trust we Nigerians for our religious bigotry!! The question should be, do people baptized as adult live more exemplary christian principles than those baptized as infants? Some of us talk( abi type) as if we go to heaven and see ur neighbor that does not quote the bible as fast as U do, U will question God. My next question is " Who wrote or compiled the bible in its present form?" Some of us are trying to be more Christian than Christ himself. It is not by adapt quotation of the bible or d lack of it, but how U treat the "unbelievers" and ur brethren that define ur Christianity. Why no argue how to live ur christian principle outside ur church(i.e in ur offices, shops n dark corners of the world) n off the pages of blogs. Get real Nigerians!!!! |
Do we really need any award at this moment?? This is the height of our gov't insensitivity to the plight of the masses. Most names on the list means that U are no body if U do your work honorably and earn a decent living without cheating. What are these leaders teaching my children and next generation when mediocrity is rewarded with awards? |
1wiseman:When and where U got ur masters from, do they question conventional/non-conventional knowledge? Did U write and defend a thesis and see how conclusion are drawn from logical arguments? I doubt. Read your bible again, U'll see that not all wonders/miracles come from God. That U with a Masters attend that church doesn't make it God sent. Is worldly possessions and showing off one of the fruits of the spirit? By their fruits U shall know them. Note most dibia n juju priest can do miracles too. Nigerians are just too gullible!! |
One thing I like about Naija is whatever we learn from people, we "overdo" it. The whiteman brought his culture to us, yet we claim to know more than they do. Most of what we learn as civilization/religion from the whiteman is their culture. But if someone should ask us to do something to promote our culture we call it paganism. We should learn to differentiate the two. We are quick to bring our religious sentiment into every thing we do, yet are hearts are mile away from God! @Topic, So people who don't wed in church should not wear ring? What if a couple go for a registry marriage and decide to exchange rings? Does the ring confer any blessing?? |
Do U have admission or need admission to study overseas? Do it yourself!! No fees, No Consultant involve!! Just visit the site below! http://www.travelguidebook.org/index.php/en/canada-study-visa |
I am a product of this program tho in the South-South. Aside getting admitted, U stand tall above some of the students U'll meet in 200Level when U enter. If the lecturers in ur school know what they are doing, U are better than those passing through regular UME/post-UME. |
Please who knows where I can buy the PTDF scholarship scratch card? I have asked around so many of the banks, but seems not too lucky. Any useful info will be highly appreciated! |
@Poster, I salute ur courage to think outside the box. I wish you the best!! This has always been part of my plans to create labor in naija. Not sure if u guys still need more people. All the best. Thumps up!! |
) and I don't get fooled easily.
