Congratulations. Please which email did you contact UKVI with for an update... I want to contact them too. Thanks
Many thanks!

We paid to use this service only once, but communicated with them for at least 3 different reasons.

Their reply can be so frustrating... be warned!

So after 3 failed visitor visas, we FINALLY SAW A SHINY STAMP YESTERDAY! grin grin grin

Applied on 31st March 2018 (priority)

Biometric 9th April

Documents sent to Sheffield on 23rd April

Application being prepared for consideration mail 25th April

Emailed asking for an update on 24th May. A reply came back saying that a decision had been made.

Documents sent back on 25th May

Went to TLS Ikeja to see if the passport was there on 30th May. They said it's still at the High Commission.

Passport ready for pick up mail 30th May

No decision made mail sent officially from UKVI

Decision made 17th May

Passport picked up 31st May

36 working days after biometric. There was so much public holidays to endure!!!

What made me worry was that:

1. My contract for my job expired in July, but they renewed it for another year AFTER I submitted. I wrote a letter of assurance (saying that I will look for another job etc) to cover my back. However, I am guessing they called my work place to find out they renewed my contract.

2. I lost one payslip, and I could not get another copy so I wrote a letter explaining why this payslip was not there and asked them to look at my bank statement AND what my work place added in a table showing my income.

3. My documents came back in a different envelope. Oh the paranoia thinking I have upset them and they might reject us because the envelope I sent them was too small. Yes, I was thinking like that.... tongue

Overall, I would say if there a small omissions, cover your back with a letter, and point it to other bits of evidence to back yourself up.

We are so grateful for the sound advice though! We went through EVERYTHING on this forum. Producing a table of income was a brilliant idea that we got from here (as I had variable income from 2 sources). Thank you all once again!!!

May you all experience good news too!!!! I celebrate with you all in advance!

Hello everyone! Please oo I sent a mail to UKVI helpdesk making an inquiry about my husband's application status. I got a response today stating that a decision has been made on my application. I have heard nothing from TLS or the ECO. I am also still waiting on my documents to be returned.

Please this is day 32 (priority), and we are sooo nervous. Any words of comfort/advice?

Hello all...

It's me again smiley

Laat week, my work place agreed to extend my contract (as I was on a fixed term contract that was due to finish in July 2018). I got a letter as confirmation.

Should I send this letter to Sheffield? Or is it too late or is it not advisable?

I did include a letter in my supporting documents explaining that if the school did not extend, that I would be looking to secure another job that continues to meet the financial needs.

Many thanks!

Hi everyone,

I've finally made an account after being a silent follower for the past few years; it's only the right thing to do as you all have been my virtual family throughout my 5 year long distance journey.

If it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't now be able to finally deserve some peace after all I've been through. Being in a long distance is one thing but being young (we in our mid 20's) and being from two different cultures (Hubby: Nigerian and me: Caribbean) added more to rollercoaster.

Nevertheless, my husband was finally granted his visa today. There's no words that can describe how I'm feeling right now.

Here's our timeline (standard):

Online Submission: 9th February
Biometrics: 13th February
Documents sent: 19th February
Decision made: 11th May
Passport ready for collection: 11th May
Passport collected with visa: 11th May
Total: 61 working days

God bless everyone who contributes and good luck to everyone who is waiting for a response.
I hear you! Same scenario too!

But congratulations!!!!

I tap into it!

Yesssssssssssssssssssssss
Visa was granted, o dear o dear. I want to say a special thank you to everyone who has ever commented on this thread. This thread was my fav nairaland thread for two years. January this year I started reading from comments from January 2015. Every details were noted and adhere to.

MY TIMELINE:

Visa type: Priority ( Husband)
Biometrics: 22/03/2018
Documents sent: 03/04/2018
Documents received email: NONE
Email application been prepared by ECO: 23/04/2018
Documents returned to my wife: 27/04/2018
Decision email: NONE
Decision Made: 26/04/2018
Made 3 calls and 2 emails to UKVI
Collection email: 02/05/2018

Scared initially cos they returned all the documents (original & photocopies)

Biometrics to decision: 23 working days(excluding holidays)

Biometrics to collection email: 26 working days (excluding holidays)

Thank you so much guys.

ADVISE: READ THIS THREAD THOROUGHLY
Congratulations oo! Am tapping into it!

All this waiting is actually nerve wrecking....especially with all these holidays!!!

How long on average is the wait to receive a decision (priority)?

Did biometrics on the 9th April.

justwise:
It stated the length of your employment and your annual gross pay?

My p60 arrived weeks ago but you can request for it from inland revenue, go on their website and read up about that or you can speak to HR depart of your company.
Yes Sir, length of employment and a table showing my income for the 12 months (before and after tax), resulting in showing the gross at the bottom.

HR have been a nightmare. I requested before I flew out, and upon return, nothing! They are telling 10 working days.

No that is not needed because he has done that online already.

You can send the supporting document as soon as possible, no need to start counting working days since the application and biometric aspect have been taken care of.
Thank for your reply! I just got back from Lagos, and was getting ready to submit when I realised that my p60 for the financial year of 17/18 (it shows the required ammount) has not been released. I have now entered panic mode!

I have the 16/17, but it does not reflect the £18,600 needed. I do have my payslips, letters from employer, and bank statements (all 12 months as I am applying under category B because of 2 incomes, one of which is variable) which show £18,600 plus.

My question is do I need to submit a p60, or am I ok with the information that I have already? I am very that we did a priority submission last Monday, and I am worrying that time is running out waiting for the 17/18 p60!

Many thanks!

Good Afternoon All! I have been a secret follower for over 2 years! The information here has been so helpful. I am British and my hubby is Nigerian.

We submitted yesterday at Ikeja. The only thing they collected was his passport.... Am I correct in thinking that I should include the paper application in the documents to send to Sheffield?

Please oo, how many working days do I have to submit the documents in Sheffield?

Many thanks!
