adding to wht oyb said, part of ur RAM is used as shared memory, a very small percentage of it anyway.

"In computing, shared memory is a memory that may be simultaneously accessed by multiple programs with an intent to provide communication among them. Depending on context, programs may run on the same physical processor or on separate ones. Using memory for communication inside a single program, for example among its multiple threads, is generally not referred to as shared memory." - Wikipedia

Published since 1984, the magazine has the largest audited circulation (both total and newsstand) of Macintosh-focused magazines in North America, more than double its nearest competitor, Mac|Life (formerly MacAddict). Macworld was founded by David Bunnell (publisher) and Andrew Fluegelman (editor).

The magazine is published in many countries, either by other IDG subsidiaries or by outside publishers who have licensed the brand name and its content. These editions include Australia, Germany (Macwelt), Italy, Spain, Sweden (MacWorld), Turkey, and the United Kingdom. Its content is also incorporated into a number of other IDG publications.

PC Magazine (or PC Mag) is a computer magazine published biweekly (except in January and July) both in print and online. The magazine is published by Ziff-Davis Publishing Holdings Inc. The first edition was released in January 1982 as a monthly called PC (the "Magazine" was not added to the logo until the first major redesign in January 1986). The magazine moved to biweekly publication in 1983 after a single monthly issue swelled to more than 800 pages. The magazine's editor-in-chief, Lance Ulanoff, ascended to his current post in July 2007. Jim Louderback had held this position since 2005, but accepted the position of CEO of Revision3, an online media company.

ComputersRe: Windows Xp Blue Screen (unmountable-boot-volume): Please Help! by sawyerrken(m): 11:51am On Nov 29, 2007
in my experience (which is relatively little, lol) tht error can be as a result of memory (RAM) change or u just put a hard drive that was preinstalled with an OS on another board and u're now trying to use it on ur present board, or u installed a new PCI or AGP card.

so if u recently made any hardwar change, revert the change, if tht doesn't work
slave ur HDD, get every valuable stuff out and reinstall.
ComputersRe: N70 Urgent Help Needed! by sawyerrken(m): 11:42am On Nov 29, 2007

ComputersRe: Help My System Crashed by sawyerrken(m): 11:28am On Nov 29, 2007
check if ur board is detecting ur hard disk, if u have to reinstall ur pc, slave ur hard disk to another pc and get all ya stuff out before formatting.
