Harold Webb has tarnished his image at this World Cup with his horrible officiating. God! So many cards!! Kudos to the Spaniards. Mr Paul Octopus just scored a 100% in his predictions. Let's get him to the Premiership immediately! Hopefully, our Nigerian politicians don't get to him first! |
For me, i'll say Reuben Abati of The Guardian. The satirical columnist brings a whole new dimension to our political status quo. |
Steps in and looks around. Its full of beautiful people. He nods in satisfaction and moves to the bar."Nice joint." He says to the bar man. I think i'll have a Scotch on the rocks with a spot of Baylis, shaken not stirred, " |
"If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping in a closed room with a mosquito." ---Namibian Proverb "Courtesy costs nothing but buys everything." ---Unknown "New lovers always want so much never to have loved before." ---Mark Anthony "The older you are, the more of a coward you become." "The best standard of measuring yourself is by the people who measure their lives by you." --- Morgan Freeman in 'The Bucket List' "Give me chastity and constancy but give it not yet" ---August Christopher "Free from desire, you realize the mystery; caught in desire, you see only manifestations." ---Lao Tzu "Most people are willing to change, not because they see the light but because they feel the heat" "Its better to want something you dont have than have what you dont want." Reading the various comments on this thread, I must say that its been totally interesting seeing tempers flare and read emotionally-laden comments. Lets stay objective people. This is a simple matter really. The pope cannot be arrested if he goes to London because there are so many considerations. Topping the list is that the London police cant afford to arrest him because they have no jurisdiction in the matter. That aside, Cardinal Radzinsky (as he then was )was wrong in his decision on the issue. If it were to be punishable, of course he can be arrested for goodness sake. He just human like every one of us. And where the hell did we hear that he took over from St. Paul as Gods representative on earth. Ovbiously, most of us are high on doctrine as opposed to history as it really happened. |
Now the act or omission of the Pope in question is something that happened how many years ago? Why didnt these men bring out this information before the conclave that brought in Pope Benedict? I dont in any way condone the action of Cardinal Radzinsky (as he then was). Infact, Its is totally disgusting for him to have had that knowledge and advocate suppression without meting out the appropriate punishment to the paedophile of a priest all in the name of it not being in best interests of the church. A terrible sin was clearly committed here. Makes you wonder if Church interests are now greater than protecting that which they preside over. What happens to the victims then? The crux of the matter is this; why do Catholics believe that to truly serve God, you must deny yourself the experience of marriage which is ordained by God. If priests were allowed to get married, probably the issue of sexually abusive priests would be non existent or its existence would be majorly minimised. |
Well, first of all, I dont think Soludo to be a man of impeccable credentials. He is the cause of the the tsunami or shakedown going on in the banks in Nigeria today. He knew the true state of the banks but kept mute because he was being bribed by the higher echelon of the troubled banks. Suddenly, he was swimming in money and decided to go under the umbrella of Nigeria's problem party-PDP and contest for governorship in Anambra State. Do you know how many Ibo men lost millions of naira in the stock market? He thought that by joining PDP, he was invincible. He forgot that in any society, the power resides with the mob ultimately. And in Nigeria presently, the political consciousness has become overwhelming esp in Anambra State as a result of PDP's misrule which has nearly ruined the state. I'm glad that Anambra people came out en masse and voted their incumbent. Soludo should go and bury his head in dirt because he failed. He is a shameless man and a disgrace to the Ibo nation. I am happy that after all the mouthing of PDP that no party on earth could defeat them, it has happened again. |
I dont see a Sunday Oliseh there, |
Thats Nigeria for you. Take a look at the just concluded one in Egypt- fantastic! FIFA have just given us an oppurtunity to fall our hand openly before the international community. This will surely make nonsense of our rubbish re-branding. |
The major problem in the banking industry in Nigeria today is that the banking sector is the only industry that does not have a union that will assert and protect the rights of its workers. As a result, bank staffs usually suffer in silence. This lack of a union is a big problem which i think should be addressed as the banking sector has risen to prominence as major employers of labour. The fight against the injustice and evil banking practice that permeates the banking sector should start now and i applaud the lady suing for having the courage to do so. The problem with Nigeria is that we take a lot of shit. We have to really grow some balls!!! |
Cant blame them for preparing for a possible Nigeria break-up. You dont really need a soothsayer to tell you Nigeria is heading in that direction. However, US is as usual, motivated by greed. The welfare of the Nigerian people is not really their concern, but the control of oil. They'll back whoever has control of the oil. Unfortunately, Nigeria is too dumb to realise that. With Clintons closed-door meeting with Buhari and co, we've been hearing about threats of war and 'SOMALIARIZATION' of Nigeria. With tensions flaring and the high-charged atmosphere over PDP's relentless and greed-inspired grip on Nigeria, we can only hope and pray things change before they escalate. |
I dunno but i think the whole idea of credit for a luxury is quite unwise and unnecessary. The problem about anything credit is that it feels like you've been cast into an endless black hole. Suddenly, you find yourself in bondage of a lifetime and the lifestyle you so desperately want to live, evades you fast. For a young man, its not wise to start life paying debts because before you know it, you are paying debts for the rest of your life. Its a whole lot better to start small and live large later. There nothing more hypocritical than living a life you cant afford. A brand new car is not an ASSETT but a LIABILITY, especially if you cant afford it. Guys, dont be carried away because the guy next door drives an IV TECH he probably hasnt finished paying for. You can get it but ONLY when you can afford it without sweat. Now thats a definition of a BIG BOY! |
Hi y'all! Us July folks are beautiful and wonderful people!! I wish u all a fantastic birthday celebration and with the best wishes for the rest of the year! Yours truly's July 8th. |
I can remember a few, Tom Clancy for one; he spends too much bloody time on details and forgets that the sole aim of writing is to entertain. If i wanted to know about subs, i would have joined the navy.Jeffery Archer is a fantastic writer but when i read 'Shall We Tell The President?', i was heart-broken.I dont believe he wrote that anyway after reading 'Kane and Abel' and the 'Prodigal Daughter'. Steve King has lots of fans and you guys may probably think me crazy but i've never been able to complete any of his novels. The build up to the story takes like, forever so i usually lose interest before i get anywhere. The more reason i was surpised when i discovered it was he who wrote 'Shoreshank Redemption' after i watched the movie. But i think Archer's Shall We Tell The President is the most uniteresting book i've read in a long time. |
Its such a pity that INEC cant handle one state not to talk of a whole country. This goes a long way to show the ineptitude of the Maurice Iwu led INEC. Again, it is clear that our politicians are not ready to deviate from their evils ways, meddling in issues that dont concern them when there are far more pressing issues at stake. Yar'Adua is trying to pull weight in order to influence the outcome of the result rather than pay attention to his failing 7 point agenda. Imagine our IG of police declaring a woman who resigned because she didnt want to give in to the diabolical machinations of PDP, who is so far the only person that has shown willingness to uphold the highest moral standard, wanted! For Gods sake, she ought to be applauded for taking the most honourable decision. It shows the level of corruption in the Police, its is even at the highest echelon. Its a real pity, before it was vision 2010, now its vision 2020. As for Dora and her rebranding, its such a big shame. For someone who used to be an epitome of hardwork, incorruptibility and fairness, her rebranding of a bad product like Nigeria is most irresponsible. Where we are going in this country, on God will help us. |
Mr. Superstar, before i comment on your highly clarifying text-i must hail thee as a great Manchester United Fan. Indeed,if God be for Manchester United, who can be against us? Your analysis of the various banks and their pay is enlightening. How such are you of your facts? one thing i know for sure is what you said about GTB Plc, its so true. Keep up the good work. I know you are providing useful info for young Nigerians out there. |
hi there. i'm a graduate fresh out of law school and i was seriously contemplating joining the navy after my service year with NYSC but i've sampled the opinions on board and they are discouraging to say the least. are you telling me the navy is still as underpaid as that- 40 to 50k as salary?! i would like any of you current with happenings in the navy to update me on their pay package and also the fact the knowledge of swimming is not a prerequisite. that really strikes me as odd. its like sending a farmer to farm with no tools. put me in the loop o so i know what to do asap! take care y'all. |
