The West African Examinations Council, Nigeria, has said the West African Senior School Certificate Examination for School Candidates, 2022, will take place between May 16 and June 23 2022 in Nigeria.

Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, the Head of Nigeria Office, WAEC, Patrick Areghan, said the exam would take a period of six weeks, adding that the revert to the May/June period for the conduct of the examination should be celebrated.

“Gentlemen of the Media, I am delighted to inform you that the conduct of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates, 2022 will take place between May 16 and June 23 2022 in Nigeria, spanning a period of six (06) weeks.

“They revert to the May/June period for the conduct of the examination should be celebrated. The significance of this is that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the various member States, save Ghana, have now again found a common ground in respect of their academic calendars.

“This shows a massive recovery from the devastating effects, disruptions, and confusion caused by the pandemic. We must give kudos to the Honourable Minister of Education and his Ministry for this wonderful feat.”

He explained that the final International Timetable for the conduct of the examination had been sent to all schools for their proper and necessary guidance.

Areghan also said a total of 1,607,975 candidates from 20,221 schools had registered for the examination.

He added that “Even though NIN was made a component of the registration process, it was not a compulsory requirement in order not to disqualify many candidates. Even after the registration exercise, candidates were, and are still being, allowed to submit their NIN for upload. I, therefore, want to make it categorically clear that no candidate was denied registration as a result of non-submission of NIN.

“Gentlemen of the media, we are set for the conduct of the WASSCE for School Candidates, 2022 in Nigeria. We are working hand-in-hand with the Federal Ministry of Education, the various State Ministries of Education, the Nigeria Police Force, other security agencies and other stakeholders, to deliver, as usual, a credible examination to the Nigerian Child and the general public.”

Areghan also warned operators of rogue websites to desist from their heinous acts.

“We also want to sound a note of warning to all operators of rouge-websites that WAEC will not condone their heinous acts during the conduct of this examination.

“Parents are hereby warned to desist from patronizing these evil-doers who are hell-bent on frustrating the efforts of WAEC. They should not patronize them as that would only lead to the destruction of their children’s destiny.

Meanwhile, we shall, as usual, work hand-in-hand with the Nigeria Police to bring perpetrators to book. There will be no hiding place for them. Perpetrators will surely face the full wrath of the law.”

The JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede has stated that the board is yet to release the results of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination because due to some internal appraisals. He mentioned that JAMB wouldn’t want to release results because it had asked people to submit reports, particularly of malpractices.

He made this known during an interview with newsmen in Abuja during a meeting of the National Youth Service Corps management and with Registrars of Corps Producing Institutions in Nigeria.

According to him, the board has no reason not to release the results but at the same time, the board is doing some internal appraisal to avoid a situation whereby some results are withdrawn after releasing them. So the board has to go through the report of possible malpractices before releasing the results.

“And for the first day after the result was ready, we now scrutinized and we saw that about 40 percent of the report were not in. So, why release 60 percent and create confusion? We have insisted that this year, we will not release the results until we have all the reports of examination malpractices.

“So, the issue of releasing results and now coming, they will be very few rather than the large number that we had. The results are ready but we believe we need to have all the reports; we have about 70 percent of reports now updated but we want 100 percent.

“The result will be out; for instance, I was told that the exam on Saturday is completed now. The results are in; when I get to the office today I will append my signature and it will go out.”

Australia Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships

The Research Training Program (RTP) provides grants on an annual basis to higher education providers (HEPs) to support both home and overseas students accepting Research Doctorate and Research Masters's degrees, known as higher degrees by research (HDRs).  On the 31st of December 2016, the International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) ceased to exist and was replaced by the Research Training Program (RTP) from 1 January 2017 till date.

They then traveled eastward from Ghana into what is now Cameroon. They split up when they reached Cameroon's highlands, but eventually reunited in the same territory in modern-day Akwa Ibom.

Because the Anaang area is not industrialized, the residents must rely on farming, trading, local crafts, and civil services to exist.

The males are in charge of clearing the farm, while the women are in charge of planting and caring for the crops. The single exception is yam-care, which is thought to be a male-only task.
