Considering the fact that I was not getting any younger and also that I had began to understand why my father usually stayed outside the house in the evening times while looking into the issues of life all alone, I began to plan my life to become fail proof in the case of eventualities!

So, I got myself a laptop and started hopping on some building designs with my overview knowledge of some special architectural tools. Instead of the whole process to bring peace into my life, it triggered another questionable reaction from my wife.

"Honey, this one that you are always keeping quiet in the evening times and typing away your life while facing the computer screen, I hope you are not trying to hack into any database?" She asked as she noticed that I no longer had much time for her.

At first, I wanted to keep quiet but as a man, I decided to own up to my actions (and inactions)! So, I told her, "Well, if you must know, I am planning my life so that I can live well in the future in case you're not there."

She came close to see what I was doing at the computer and she screamed, "What, you are planning to build a house in the village and it has only one room when you have a darling like me?"

I was startled and had to turn off the computer to face her! As an investor, I told her that it's just my own way of playing safe in case anything happens tomorrow and we are no longer together, I would just go down to the one room apartment in the village and stay calmly until I am able to find my feet again.

"It hasn't gotten to that nah! At least, we are not Bill and Merlin Gates that took different directions, I can still be with you." She said, trying to calm me down.

"But, you don't make my food!" I protested.

When she realized where the discussion was heading to, she said, Please let's talk about that another time.

"Ok, if you want to be part of the project, you have to foot your own part of the bills." I said, as a matter of finality.

"And, when I do, what will happen?" She asked.

"I will tweak the plan." I assured her!

"Hmm, let me call my father first."

Immediately she said that, I knew what would happen and I didn't want my pa inlaw to call me a small boy again! So, I picked up my laptop and other tools and retired to the bedroom while she paced through the sitting room to dial different numbers.

Dude can be cunning and the worst of it all? He has my woman's phone number. There was a time he called me into his office for a brief and personal meeting and while we were discussing, he told me, "Imiano, the company is not happy with you because you have not been advertising our products vigorously as promised and you don't even interact with your colleagues on social media platforms!"

The thing hit me separately and I lowered my ego and sought to learn from him on how to go about it. "If your fellow workers make post on their Facebook profiles, go there and comment nice things so that people will know that we are a good company that encourages interpersonal relationships!" He said.

I heard him and left. After some days, a colleague of mine by name Adanna posted some photos on her Facebook wall about how she spent her all-expense paid trip to Malta and she captioned it, "We have been through a lot but we don't look it!"

Out of curiosity and partial obedience to my boss's desires, I went there and wrote, "I wish I met you before I met my wife."

That comment alone sparked outrage but before I could delete it, my wife had seen it! Hian.

That was why I made a post earlier on at the Literature section saying that Facebook Does Not Forget. That weekend, I couldn't rest, I could run.

I just waited for whatever that would happen to happen. Should I not make it to work on Monday, I had written my will.

So, I got there, dropped my bag and we went outside to collect cool breeze and after that we went to a barbing saloon across the room to charge our phones.

From there, I was posting things like,

"Making Mama proud is the goal..."

"Believe, Trust the process..." You know all those kinds of jargons that were trending online. So, I was posting them online to let my wife know that I am still alive but she never cared!
