Memo: FG To Implement “No Work, No Pay” Policy.


The Federal Government has observed with dismay that
many Workers' Unions in Federal Ministries,
Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are in the habit of
embarking on strike actions on the flimsiest of excuses,
leading to disruption of services and orderliness in the
affected Organizations.

It is even more worrisome that, often the issues being canvassed could be amicably resolved through dialogue without resulting to industrial action. Based on the reasons stated above the Federal Government has
brought out some resolutions:




Government has deemed it necessary to remind workers and their respective Unions of the “NO WORK, NO PAY” rule as contained in Section 43 of the Trade Disputes Act Cap T8, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 which states that: “Where any worker takes part in a strike, he shall not be entitled to any wages or other remuneration for the period of the strike, and any such period shall not count for the purpose of reckoning the period of continuous employment and all rights dependent on continuity of employment shall be prejudiciary affected accordingly”




Accordingly, Government is constrained to advise all
workers and their unions to respect the laws of the land
and desist from participating in illegal strike actions and
disruption of services in the MDAS.




Accordingly, all Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and
Heads of Government Agencies are hereby directed to
ensure that they strictly enforce this rule.

FUGASHUA UTME Preparatory Programme Application Form 2016/2017.

FU GASHUA UTME Preparatory Programme Form is Out. The management of the Federal University, Gashua invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the newly introduced UTME Preparatory Programme (UPP) for 2016/2017 Academic Session. Programme Structure:


The UTME Preparatory Programme would run for two terms; - First Term: UTME Coaching (23 weeks) - Second Term: Preparatory Programme (24 weeks) The Programme is designed for candidates from catchment areas of the university.



Entry Requirements into the UTME Preparatory Programme;
Candidates aspiring to gain admission into the UPP must obtain at least five (5) credits (including English Language and Mathematics) at not more than two sittings in General Certificate of Education (GCE) O’Level, West African School Certificate or Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or National Examination Council (NECO) and/or NABTEB.

Available subjects in the programme are: 1. Agriculture 2. History 3. Biology 4. Home Economics 5. Chemistry 6. Islamic Studies 7. Commerce 8. Literature in English 9. Economics 10. Mathematics 11.
