The online tracking thingy is just static, the same message everyday "Your Application has been forwarded to British High Commission" I dont think the tracking thing changes, any1 in house has something to say about this

Men am so tired of waiting. Today is the 15th working day and yet no show.

I didn't pay for the text msg notification but for duz that have gotten their visas, pluz when you got the text n checked online, did it say returned to vfs or wat?

Hoping I'd get it soon enuff sha cuz this waitin period is killin oh!

I will advice u to check the your VAC on monday or Tue. Am very very sure it will be there. My sister got her entry clearance yesterday and she didnt pay for the SMS, yesterday was the 17th day for her application. am nt abt that tracking thing, its not working. normally, it should change wen ur application progresses along the process line: check this tread:


GUIDE LINES FOR TRACKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!



1. Application forwarded to BHC means that VAC has forwarded your application to the British High Commission where your application will be considered by UKBA staff.

2. Application under process at British High Commission means that the BHC concerned with assessing your application has admitted your application in their work queue and is presently somewhere in the assessment cycle (waiting to be assigned to a caseworker, assigned to caseworker, being assessed by caseworker, under review by ECO, etc. etc.).

3. The next step, when a decision is reached, will be a message to the effect that "your application has been processed and returned to VFS" - which effectively means that a decision has been reached by BHC on your application and the application has been returned to the VAC (or is on its way there).

Decisions about the applications are not disclosed on VAC website / through SMS, and will become known to you only when you receive your documents back.


Hope this clarifies doubts regarding VAC's online status messages and their meanings.

by 2mrrw it will be th 13th working day 4 my application , hmnnnn, it ain't easy to be pregnant ooooo, 9months and am already complaining for 13 working days. to even sleep well na war, God grant us all peace in our hearts, as we all await a POSITIVE response from BHC. Amen!!!

Thanks Scobby2007. What about if I wait till 7th August to print and before then do a transaction to ensure there is a closing balance, after which i print and head on to submit. Please let me get your take on this.

Congrats to everyone who has gotten their study permit visa. Can someone kindly tell me when the 28days date of maturity will be for a deposit made on the 9th August, 2010. Moreso, what date will be my 29th day to apply. Big ups for your support.
Good news await all who have tendered their application and thereon waiting for a decision in Jesus Name. Amen

If you have deposited on the 9th Aug. let it stay till 6th Sept.(and you can print ur statement on this day) then apply the next day and upwards, but must not exceed 1month from the day it was printed. Request that ur statement shows the balance closing date, bank logo, ur name, account number and contact add. for the bank.

I observe that people that didn't go through an Agent get their passport back between 15-17 working days or more some situations!!!

Visa application processing times has increased due to the summer rush, so dont be afraid if your application does not come out of BHC even after 15 working days. At times they purposely delay the application to see if an applicant will withdraw from the maintainance funds just to have an excuse for refusal. I guess they derive joy in refusing people visa

One lesson! the staff of VFS are either ignorant or are not informed about visa guidance and processes, A staff insisted that i must submit a CAS letter, but I stood my ground that it is not necessary, she only looked at me as a fool, but now i think I have been justified,

To my understanding, student's visa a processed at the BHC @ Abuja, however there is the student select scheme for those that applied via educational agents that are registered with the British Council, such applications are processed in Lagos, for those applying in Lagos, and the processing time for such applications is around 5 working days.

I applied at Ikeja VAC. on the 11th Aug,2010 and the same text that day "applctn has bn dispatchd 2 British Dep High Com", 2mrrw it will be 8working days already

Can I print the statement on the 30th of August asuming I made the deposit on the 2nd of August?
Can I still make transactions using the same account?

the 28days is ok, try not to make any transaction that will make ur balance go below the required maintenance fee. Best of luck

i am a victim. i applied for student visa and was refused due to maintenance fund not up to 28 day whereas i deposited the fund on 7th april and printed 7th of may but there was these saving account interest that entered my account on 30th june.that means that eco counted from 7th june to 30th june and concluded.i applied for review and they still refused claiming that the fund in my account has drop but i drew from the account after printing statement and application.

i am actually planing to apply again these time i will deposit on 1st of the october to prevent bank interest.

what is the effect of using another bank statement these time ie skye was used in previous now i want to use diamond

I will like to inform you that the ECO is human, and they still monitor your account even during the process of ur VISA APPLICATION, if they had wanted to waive ur inability to meet up with the 28 days the fact that u withdrew below the required amount shows that the money in there might not be ur own, This is a practical psychology. This people don't trust we Nigerians, so just have to be careful and pray for Divine Favour

Please guys how long does it take to recieve a response from the UKBA after submission . I have submitted for almost 10 working days now and I have not heard anything does it take that long. They wrote on my passoprt photocopy that "check back iafter 5 days". I am scared hope there is nothing wrong

I will like to ask if you actually applied for a student VISA. because this will atleast take 15 working days. you might not need to be alarmed

@femtopsy, this is the gist. it doesn't matter weather Ur money is their for 3 months, you can request for a statement that will be within a period of a month. and the closing balance date and the application date shouldnt be more than 1month. e.g if ur closing balance date is 11/09/2010 then you should apply on or before 11/10/2010.

Submit every, UKBA are never tired of seeing original documents as proofs, Prooof and over proof, above all, ask God for DIVINE FAVOUR

I just submitted my uk student VISA application on 11/08/2010. and that evening I got a text that my application has been dispatched to BHC for processing. I await my result next week. Abeg make una pray for me ooooo.

I think the most important thing about VISA applications is just the F.O.G, Favour of God. u might be physically or by document perfect yet denied.
